Btw, black flash is basically like "the zone" in sports. Once you hit a black flash, you're in the zone, and it's said that black flash unlocks 120% of your potential (as opposed to the normal 100%), hence the "all 3 were now drawing out 120% of their latent potential". This basically means that the fight next episode is gonna be fucking crazy.
the one who does the voice of everything is the same of all might of boku no hero literally is all might of jujutsu.
Drawing out 120% out of their latent potential means (as Nanamin explained it in the past) when sorcerers/curses hit a black flash wheter by luck or intentionally they grasp the concept of their cursed energy and soul and body everyone usually fights with 80% power after black flash they get into "The Zone" how athletes get and adrenaline rush and they unlock 120% basically they become one with their own self body and soul combined... and now mind you even tho todo hit a black flash with 120% power it did 0 dmg on Mahito... Hope it goes well but my hopes are like realy low bcuz of Nanami and Nobara
I love Mahito's VA, he kills it on every scene, but this episode was actually a step above that. He popped off in the studio, actual chills when he yells.

I really kind of like it when he was screaming at yuji and at the end of every sentence his voice sharpens so hard as he runs out of breath. This brought me some chilling vibes.
Nitta literally said "Nobara died, but I used my technique on her, but she's dead, but she might have a low chance to survive, but she's dead...." Gege Akutami giving us pieces of hope after totally dertroy us.
As a manga reader, I'm stuned by how creative and bealtiful this season is. Despite their situation, the people working in this adaptation are absolute genius, giving us this art.
Well I mean Nitta wasn't exactly wrong. If you're quick enough after death, resuscitation might be possible. So with his technique essentially pausing her body shortly after death, she might be savable.

Todo's "defining the meaning of fallen comrades speech" sounds almost exactly the same as Erwin' one before the last operation against Beast Titan, and I love every second of it.

Todo is a manga fanboy, he uses popular manga quotes, erwin was one of them but you'll see plenty of them on this fight... even the PEAK ones of the BEST shonen that there are.

It was stated in season 1 that when Jujutsu sorcerers land a black flash the get into "the zone". While in "the zone" sorcerers are able to manipulate to much a greater degree with ease (stated to be as simple as breathing). This leads to greatly increased performance in combat, thus "120% of maximum potential". The black flash Todo released did no damage, but buffed all his abilities. While Todo can't do any damage to Mahito he can stop his movements for Yuji like Nanami did in season 1.
Another important thing to remember is that pulling off a black flash for the first time permanently deepens your understanding of cursed energy, so no wonder Mahito is getting more dangerous even though he's pretty hurt.
Todo's entrance was like a ray of light in this pool of depression. Man is THE goat!
Todo Qoute, It’s a buddhist saying. Someone made a post on this going more in depth, but with the English translation you can tell that the basis is this:

Don't know if anyone else mentioned it, but Shimazaki Nobunaga is phenomenal as Mahito. You have been hearing him recently as Shinichi as well in Parasyte, so the range is crazy. In all honesty, at a base level, all Japanese VA's are crazy talented.

This is where I truly realised the beauty Jujutsu Kaisen really is. To where at 2nd glance the writer is talking to us through Mahito, in that also aligns with the character conveying to us the viewer “I bet you just thought this would be some pest extermination. Or like defeating evil spirits in a legend, Thats what you thought when you came here right? You’re naive you damn brat” Literally saying to our faces this isn’t no happily ever after story.

At the same time, I've waited ages to see this part animated and Todo is a legend lol. This was one of the biggest emotional roller-coaster episodes ever. My favourite fight for a reason!

The beginning with Yuji was so unbelievably brutal BUT it made that To-do entrance so good!!
even as a manga reader they did not disappoint in any way, animation they cooked it, the voice actors did an amazing job with every single characters, openings and endings OSTis 10/10, story-telling was different but it was good in its own way and manga did good in its own way, the only L there is that mappa making animators do this stuff in such short time 😒😒

First off, absolutely love that you don't spoil the big reveals with the thumbnails. Not cool to see the reveal when you're just browsing on UA-cam. And second, I'm a manga reader. I'm all caught up on it, and I was so excited for the Shibuya Incident to be animated and the team went nuts. They seriously need a break. I'm honestly surprised there was an episode out this week. They animated this so well and made it that much more hype. I literally cried and got hype then cried and got hype again. The anime does a great job.
Mahito's quote is a hell of a truth, this is a war, a clash of what we believe is right, our flimsy ideas of justice. Having the Human Curse say this is a masterful storytelling.
i had a reactor i subbed to put todo in the thumbnail and it was the first thing I saw when I opened up youtube. Hadn't even had the chance to check to see if the episode was out yet or not. Todo's appearance was the only thing I was wanting out of this season and all the excitement kinda got taken away from me. Needless to say I don't sub to that person anymore and I really appreciate you mentioning the thumbnail stuff in your reaction.
Landing a black flash basically gives you a 20% boost in stats so all 3 are currently operating at 120% of their normal potential.

This episode flew by I heard the ending play and was like wait it's only been 5 minutes!
I'm keeping hopes low after how they baited us with Nanamin though.
Animation is surprisingly still top - although there seems to be a bit more downtime on the crazy animation by them adding the flashback scenes and pictures like the Nanamin one .. but they don't even take much time and are still well placed.
Also that scene of Yuuji effectively throwing Mr. T at the end there was hilarious lol

What Mahito is saying is essentially true. Itadori isn't really better than the curses on the moral spectrum, which sounds crazy but he is right. Just as in war, your side will always be the rightous one, the sorcerers fighting curses is the same. While most curses could be considered mindless killing monsters, we've seen this group of curses who can speak as if they were human have emotions too. What really seperates those curses from being human other than the fact they are a curse? Like Mahito said, none of those jujutsu sorcerers count the number of curses they kill because they are doing the "right" thing by killing them, Mahito wouldn't need to count the humans he kills either.
It's just as he said, Itadori is him, and Itadori is Mahito. While not litterally the same person, none of them are above each other on a moral spectrum, because both are just fighting to survive. Itadori kills curses naturally, Mahito kills humans naturally. That's why Mahito is right for calling Itadori out on his bullshit of considering himself to be the rightous over Mahito, none of them are right until either side wins. The one who wins will be proclaimed "Right", while the loser was "wrong"

In case you didn't know already, landing black flashes actually recovers cursed energy, so yuji was able to regain some of the cursed energy he had expended during this fight.
20:50 there's a good chance they would have died true, because of all the special grades running about. But they were bitter not because Mechamaru didn't believe in them and thought they might die, but that he didn't let them fight too and die alongside him protecting humanity. They don't care if they die fighting, but didn't want to do nothing while their friends and other sorcerers were dying in Shibuya.

You can really tell everyone working on this season is giving it everything they have and more. It's such a shame the higher ups of Mappa didn't give them the extra time to polish these episodes. These fights are all top tier, and would be God tier with just a bit more time in the oven.

I WANNA say Shounen Battle stories are just like this. All hype, all emotions. 100% sad, 100% life affirming, and 100% exciting at the same time. But no. Jujutsu Kaisen is just special. There are other shows with higher highs for hype, you do not get to be as long as One Piece without mastering slow, methodical, visible buildup to mind shatteringly immense payoff, but I've genuinely never seen another show truly fire on ALL cylinders like this. These shows CONTAIN the full gamut of emotions, the good ones do anyway, but it's always just 1 dialed up at a time. It's ALL hype, or ALL sad. Somehow this is going all in on everything and nailing every part of it simultaneously in singular SCENES. This isn't even playing out just over the course of the whole episode, it's happening moment to moment, scene to scene. Todo shows up and riles us up and at the same time Yuji is there in existential despair making us want to cry and it's BOTH.
Genuinely some of the best storytelling I've seen in the medium on an episode by episode basis. Season 1 didn't grab me like other shows like this tend to. I tend to binge these shows when I find them. But as fun as it was, it didn't suck me into the hype dimension like Demon Slayer did, so it took until a good way through season 2 for me to pick the movie, and then the season, but now? I am IN.
And they did this in literally globally infamous crunch and an abusive work environment? Like, this is Mappa with a handicap. They're wearing weighted clothes. Give them better working conditions, pay, and genuine reasons to show passion and loyalty to the company or studio? Some positive reinforcement? My GOD. They did the movie, start to finish, in 4 MONTHS. TOTAL.The whole process. Imagine if they'd had a year. Or 2. Imagine they had that year, AND they were getting a lot of rest and time off, with good pay so they could put their full, uninhibited focus on it. This is STILL not the best this season could've been. This is the FLOOR of their skill. The bottom of the barrel, where they're drowning in unlivable work conditions. And it's still some of the best anime I've ever seen.

tbh with this pacing this fight might end in 2 episode most and at the end of the fight gonna be with itadori's coldest line in the whole series basically look forward to it as for this episodes it was really well animated with todo's entrance to the scene and todo's black flash it really is awesomely animated also when just in case you wondering when itadori get into the fight the pic of him and nanami and him is really is from the manga its kinda like flashback but apparently they just that whole part and slap it in the anime which tbh in my opinion is like paying respect to Nanami really like that part and in unrelated stuff since you already react to some of the honkai impact animated shorts really would love to see you react to a certain cutscene where Kiana and Durandal save siegfried though the timeline would be after the next reaction of the animated short and a trailer fortpart 1 finale of honkai impact main story you're gonna see some cool and crazy shit in that trailer

Honestly, Todo is my favourite character in this show, it has a bunch of great characters but Todo is in a league of his own.
