My EA is free roam and had her first litter in February. She started making her nest during the second week which I didn’t know that’s what she was doing. she made her nest with the corners of the pee pads she ripped off. So naturally she kept refusing the nest box. But she didn’t pull any hair or start nursing till 48 hours later. 5-6 made it! I feel so lucky to be one of the few that got to watch a my rabbit give birth and nurse her kits infront of me. Raising all the kits has been so rewarding
I'm so glad all went well. I got to watch some be born last fall ( and video, it's on my channel as a short) It was so fast and amazing!

Thank you! Unfortunately, none of them survived. We'll try again though.
First time mums of any animal can have a hard time understanding whats going on. She was probably to anxious and wouldn't have known the feelings of letting her milk flow.
Have experienced similar with other animals.

We have done breedings in the morning and again 10hrs later that day ending in very successful
