@@theumbrellacorporation1523 I think Sammy DID actually exist. He was a real client of Leonard's, whom he exposed as a fake and a fraud. Can you guys please correct me if im wrong but this is how i understand it. 1. Sammy Jankins is not true and a fake story Lenny made. 2. Lennys wife did get assaulted but survived and Lenny killed 1 of the 2 guys 3. Lenny killed his wife via overdose of insulin.. 4. He convinced himself to name the other guy who escaped John G. in a way to continue living right?
My read on it is that Sammy Jankis *IS* Lenny. That those things happened to him. There may or may not have been an assault on his wife, but he deffo OD-Ed her.
@@octobeard4946 The assault most likely happened because he have a solid memory of the scene and not just tattoed on his body and cop would'nt even took interest of him in the first place if it didnt happen. Sammy Jenkins needs to be remembered via tattoo so as John G.

If the pure intention of killing Jimmy Grant ( Lenny's reality that he was his wife murderer) is for vengance, why would he have time to think that he need to change clothes with him before he kill him??

Watch the movie in chronological order, you will realize just how twisted Leonards perspective is, and more importantly that he is the one twisting it for himself. The memory of seeing his wife "die" is only as real as all the other memeories he gives himself through his photos and tatoos.
1:37 -- the way Leonard is framed with the wife is a hint he's really telling his own story.
That cut is eerie af
There's such a big difference between
Remember Sammy Jankis and

hmm
Remember Sammy Jankis...
I like the different between testing on memories vs testing on instinct

It's bizarre to see dorky Ned Ryerson from "Groundhog Day" say that.

Sammy was faking and he didn't have a wife.
