pay attention at 1:39 you can hear an electric guitar not plugged into an amp playing the chord. meaning that maybe rivers was playing along with an unplugged guitar to get the live feel when he tracked these vocals. really cool

It’s more likely they just released the track from the mic which obviously didn’t record the track form the amp head but still would’ve recorded the sound of the strings

There's actually a way to achieve that effect live. There's a machine you can get that lets one signal of the audio pass normally and another separate wire for the second signal of the same audio but it's delayed ever so slightly, giving the impression of multiple singers instead of having to record yourself multiple times singing the exact same melody. Pretty cool stuff
