The only reason bedrock fps is so good is because the lag goes straight to tick lag instead of fps lag.

Sodium, Lithium, Ferritecore and Starlight are the core 4 performance mods. There are plenty more smaller ones, just go to Modrinth and filter by optimization mods, fabric, and your game version.
Starlight do not optimize anything on like 1.19+. There is also mods like ImmediatellyFast, FerriteCore, ThreadTweak, Noisium, EntityCulling + MoreCulling, BadOptimizations, Very Many Players, Enhanced Block Entities, ModernFix and C²ME
@@KiviNik I'm aware that Starflight does much less after 1.19, but it does still have a (smaller) effect. And I'm aware of all of those mods. I use all of them, plus some. I just didn't feel like listing them all out.
Does sodium work with optifine?
I'm asking it here because my comment usually doesn't get any replies...
@brenzcarlcasas3728 Optifine is outdated, ineffective, and you should not be using it. Every single one of Optifine's features has a mod that replicates it. Also, Optifine is a forge mod. Forge, like optifine, is outdated, and slow. Fabric is the far superior modding platform. Sodium is a fabric mod. But no, even if you use the unofficial fabric port of optifine, or the unofficial forge port of sodium, they are not compatible.

You’re supposed to turn V-Sync off if you want to get high fps. Also make sure to set your max frame rate to unlimited.

There is an addon mod for sodium called "nvidium" where you can load INFINITE amounts of chunks and not lag a single bit, i dare you to try lagging that.
An Nvidia videocard is like ⅔ of average profit in my country(
Nividium is extremely powerful, but you need a higher end PC to run it with nividia graphics card. A budget laptop like mine would probably crumble under pressure.

Try sodium extras for more of the particle and animation customization from optifine, and lamb dynamic lights for the same dynamic lights as optfine

It's true. I used sodium and a bunch of other performance boosting mods and I won't get under 40-50 now
To get best performance you also should add mods such as lithium and if you have nvidia video card, nvidium, that’s basically what you need to play Minecraft and not care about fps
Starlight is useless on 1.20+
Simply Optimized modpack has all perfomance mods you need

y'all there's also a mod called "nvidium", and well, self explanatory
try nvidium with sodium you will get 300+ fps on 128 chunks
One quick detail I know for optimisation. Since the fps is hard capped at 60 it puts less effort into maintaining the higher framerate, saving processing power and making 60 look “smoother” than 120 since it doesn’t fluctuate which usually makes it less smooth.

I have like 20 fps on low graphics settings with sodium
There's a mod called "Bobby" that pairs with sodium and it lets you increase your render distance to any number, I set mine to 128

Its good combined eith lithium as well which should optimize the simulation distance option. Sodium is essentially like optifine, it optimizes chunk loading etc, lithium improves mob ticks. On TOP of that, with your newly increased FPS, you can use Iris which will let you use shaders.

My 5 year old Xbox will give me about 20 fps when there is a zombie 10 blocks away 😢

My pc is 15 years old, I played Minecraft on 1.16 and turn it up to 6 chunks I would get 20 FPS so getting 60 FPS is like heaven to me.
Also you can combine sodium with nvidium

Fun fact: my computer is so crap that a mod to fix it makes it crappier. But as soon as i put optifine on and turn off all settings, i get a stable 20-30 fps.

In my Favric modpacks I always include Sodium, Lithium, FerriteCore, Nvidium and Starlight. And Krypton. I love the element mods.

There is a mod called Nvidium and its 10× better but you need a nvidia graphic card made after 2018 and v-ram (you need sodium to run it)
Meanwhile me dropping to 1/1 frames when having everything turned off. I use a laptop so i should have expected this.
For those who have an nvidia gpu they can install invidium which helps with loading chunks and making minecraft more smooth in general since it uses ur vram from ur gpu

If you want even more fps here's some mods that go EXTREMELY well with sodium:
Lithium, starlight, nvidium (only for gtx 16xx and above), EBE, more culling, entity culling, ferrerite core
Any more performance mods is overkill
If i make my render distance more than 4 on sodium my pc will blow up

Yuh sodium is better than optifine frame-wise
There is a mod pack called fabulously optimized which is way better than sodium alone
Sodium is like using RCT on your pc.
Just for those who uses mods, there are some mods who are incompatible with sodium like create ect
Also sodium is bugged on aternos servers(yes im broke), it makes your minecraft crash if the server is modded.

If you turn v sync off and higher your frame rate in setting depending on what your pc specs are they can go very high as I average around 1500 fps
