Hi Kit, thank you for your reviews!
I am an example of a user who bought the Onyx Boox Nova Air 2 and immediately fell in love with it. After couple of weeks, I decided that I also need a bigger device, so I bought the Note Air 2. Now I love them both 😀Note Air would mostly sit on my desk when I work from home or accompany me to the office in my backpack. Writing and organizing on this device is just amazing. The smaller Nova is great for travelling and reading in bed.
As I mentioned on a previous video, I bought a second hand note air 1, and I’m happy to say I’m really pleased with it. Having bought a kindle paperwhite a couple months prior, I use both of them now. Kindle for on the go when I’m travelling, and Note air for pdf’s and other reading when at home.. oh and apps!.. I’m trialing Scribd and Perlego, which give access to loads more books!
Agreed, I think a Kindle and a Boox device is a good lineup! Enjoy.
Thanks for your tips and information, I want a color note taking 7' device to replace my notes so I can use in meetings or to do list writing any tasks or notes so Nova C is a good choice? Or I should stick yo Nova air 2 as I don't use it as ereader?
Just took delivery of my Boox Tab X now working with the ultra and the x I have to say they are the best at different things. I love reading in the morning over coffee on the ultra then moving to email and some light work before leaving the house. The tab X is so awesome for serious power reading and notating. I love the fact that I can sync notes and annotated PDFs across the devices and carry on no matter what device is close at hand. I am waiting for a solid Boox color 7.8 for a bedtime reader / or while I travel reading like on an airplane. I am holding out for color so I can read magazines and other material best viewed in color. These devices have so near replaced my surface pro 9 and my iPad Pro 12.9. The only thing I really use them for now is video and platform specific software. But to be honest I throw my zfold4 in the mix and it is almost my prime video device.
Nice, thanks for sharing your experience. Yeah, I consume UA-cam on my fold 3. It's a great phone!
A6, it's easy to carry around, fits into my handbag
There seems to be an Air 2 in 10" also. Is the difference to the Nova just processing speed? Thanks for the videos 👍
I have a 6-inch e-reader, a 7.8-inch e-ink tablet and a 10.3-inch e-ink tablet. The 6-inch e-reader is definitely the best for on-the-go reading or reading while lounging. It is very light, easy and non-tiring to hold and easy to read. The 7.8-inch e-ink tablet is often preferred for reading, browsing or light note taking. It is light yet still big enough for many notes and much reading. The 10.3-inch e-ink tablet is best for more extensive note taking and sketching and for reading larger-format materials. There is no perfect choice, and you must consider what the main use will be, but the 7.8-inch A6 e-ink tablet is definitely the most versatile.
@jestyjoshua 7 inch is a good size for general book reading. It is portable (not pocketable) and lighter than the larger formats. It is big enough to get a good-size page of text. If you don't specifically need to read large-format documents, I think this is a great size. The Poke 2 is a good choice because it has a great screen, page-turn buttons, asymmetric housing making it easy to hold, and best of all: Android 11 so you can install other apps and other reading apps like the Kindle app (after activating Google Play), though the Neo reader that it comes with is really quite good and works with many different formats, though not the Kindle format. Good luck with your choice. 😀
What is the camera holder you're using?
I use it for reading sheet music, so need the largest one.
Hello, you never compared the sizes to each other directly. I've been wanting to find a direct size comparison, as I believe it might be dependent on my choice. Cheers
Is it worth it to get the note air C or wait a few months for their new version? I believe it’ll be gallery 3 technology right?
I haven't heard that! Not sure what it will be although an upgrade nova air c does seem likely from Boox!
One thing that the video doesn't mention is the type of book you'll be reading. If you are interested in novels that don't have many illustrations, tables or other elements except text, then a smaller size is fine. I read mostly technical books and they have lot of tables, code samples and diagrams and a nova pro (7.8") was not enough.
Correct, although I don't maybe talk about that here, that's certainly something that I have covered in subsequent videos. :-)
This might sound crazy, but I own and use a Nova, a Tab Ultra, and the Tab X.
Sounds sensible to me!
Hi Kit, Love your channel. I’m new to Boox devices and have a couple of questions.
1. I imported Voya’s MDO and it is shown in Boox Drop I think after importing. How can I move that file from Boox Drop to some where else on the device? I mean to the Notepads folder?
2. In the Notepads, how can I select different template other than the default blank one? I’d prefer ruled paper.
Many Thanks
Sumudu
Hiya, you should be able to find the file in the storage, then long press and move it. You can change the template in the layers tool in the notes app. 😀
Many Thanks for the fast reply. Yep it worked well. If all things work well on Nova Air device for next couple of weeks or so, I might as well consider a bigger Boox device. Your videos will help me to make a decision I think
If you only want one device, I think the Note Air series is the best overall for size, weight, functionality, etc…. But, if you think your want 2 Boox devices, then I think, like you said, the Ultra X/Lumi + the Nova Air is the best combo. I love my Lumi 2, but it’s unwieldy at times if I’m not at my desk. The couch is where the Nova Air would work pretty well. Of course, the distance between my office desk and my couch is only about 12 feet 😂
That WFH life. 😀
Hey.. bought a tabx.... Love it and finally after air plus and scribe... Tab X works really well
.. shame there is no fingerprint option..
Yeah, fingers crossed for a Tab X Ultra sometime down the line!
I want to edit word and excel documents by hand then send them back to my team to work on a PC. Can Boox do this?
It can yep. Love the Tab Ultra line for that!
I heard Boox phones home to China even when autoupdate is turned off. Can you comment on the privacy of these devices? Thank you.
You're reading a book. Who cares
@@_nom_ China cares.
Dear Kit,
Thanks so much for your videos.
You often talk about getting the Tab Ultra because it has a great keyboard case. But those days BOOX seems to charge more than 100 bucks for the case only, with no discount if you buy the Tab Ultra together with the keyboard case. They do not provide any offer or bundle anymore, so the "true" price is really high (more than 770€). At this price I don't think it is a great offer (I only speak about the keyboard case argument, of course the Tab Ultra is a great piece of tech).
Thanks, yes, I agree this is a very valid point.
Hi hope u are well, I just received my nova air c yesterday. Super excited to be able to use it, but now my ADE e-books previous bought, I’m unable to read them on the nova air c, keeps on saying ADE DRM not accepted 🤦🏼♀️. I I’m unable to read my ebooks bought just a week ago. How can I remove the ADE DRM so that I’m able to read my ebooks on my nova air c? Please any advise will be appreciated. I do not want to return my nova air c, but if I’m unable to read my previously bought ebooks, what’s the point of having an e-ink device? If I’m unable to make notes on my e-book learner guides, Im studying currently.
Download calibre and remove the drm. You can google how to do it.
Sorry dudes, not sure how to get around a DRM!
Useless comparison! Need to see PDFs on both 7.8 & 10.3
Thanks for your feedback. I have that demonstration in many of my videos.
@@KitBetts-Masters will check them now. Thanks
