I just got my Kinhank 12 TB hard drive yesterday! It's great. But, I'd say for those who don't have a good gaming computer, I also got the Super Console X5 pro where all you'd have to do is plug it up to the television and one could play many of these games from all or nearly all of the retro systems including the Nintendo, Sega Genesis, Super Nintendo, Sega Saturn; ALL of the PlayStation one Games, N64, Dreamcast, Gameboy, Gameboy Advance, PSP, Atari, Neo Geo, Arcade stuff and a bunch of other stuff, and you won't need a computer to play. With the Super Console X5, you could just plug it up to your TV and be gaming! But, I got this 12 TB hard drive to have the collection too.
@@AllGamesNewandOld yes, the Super Console X5 comes with a 4 TB hard drive. Thus, games could be added and removed. Granted, 4 TB is not as large as the 12 TB worth of stuff. But, 4 TB is still SUPER SUPER MASSIVE and a person would still get MOST retro games from most of the consoles especially ALL of the NES, SUPER NES, Genesis, Sega Saturn, PlayStation, N64, the Dreamcast, Gameboy, Gameboy Advance, Atari; it has arcade games and old PC games. It's still WAYY more games than I would be able to play and/or master in my lifetime! And the Super Console X5 don't come with so many duplicates. It comes with pretty much the raw number of games. Plus, I just find it great that I could just hook it up to my TV and play games instantly without needing a computer and without needing to configure anything. So, it's VERY VERY VERY good deal! I only got the 12 TB just for the sake of collecting. I probably didn't even need it lol But, I bought it anyway!
If i recall correctly the Nintendo DS roms not working on that frontend is because they are packed files. One of the other front ends launches them from the packed files. You can unpack them in the ROMS folder and then they will work with the front ends that don't launch them now.
Future pinball requires a few steps, go into the faq help section on the hard drive and see the future pinball steps to fix. I had to do every step but it did fix it eventually. They are basic steps to follow
Just be aware, these are old refurbished drives. One quit after 3 weeks and made clicking noises and was not recognizable by Windows. The second one that arrived was the same 2019 WD drive and before I used it, I copied the whole drive to a 20TB drive and put the original up for cold storage. Now it's on a new drive and I have room to add anything that's missing from this collection. These aren't perfect but buying the drive saves months of downloading and is worth that alone. Still got to tweak setting, but you were going to have to do that if you built one anyways.
Thanks for the review - I have the second (I think) edition- before this newer one, and I was considering this one. But will probably skip and wait to see if they fix these problems.

These drives should come with very detailed instructions !!

I can not even figure out how to get into settings on the main page where it shows the 5 different emulators. @@AllGamesNewandOld Hey All Games New and Old, Thank you again. I tried it and it works now. On my "Xbox Controller" it was the Back button, or Top Center left that adds the credits. I specified here in case someone else is as novice as I. I thought this was defective. You are the best.
HELP PLEASE, AGAIN!! Has anyone not been able to play any XBOX360 games all on RETROBAT? Mine says : AN ERROR OCCURED THEEMULATOR EXITED UNEXPECTEDLY OK. So none of the games work. Same exact thing happens with XBOX original, also PS# just acts like it is loading and goes back to main menu. I don't understand why none of these games work? A 5-1 system is not going to be "plug & play" and is more hassle than its worth. Now if I can do it anybody can its fairly easy and there's so much help on UA-cam the only reason to buy these drives is for the roms.
In Cyberpunk 2077 that is Chinese... and the game is all going to be in Chinese because this is a Chinese version of the game with the Chinese language pack installed.... and I'm guessing ALL the AAA games are gonna be the same way. Obviously they aren't "REAL" copies of the games.... they are pie - ratted ... and they from Chinese versions of the games. So you might find that the subtitles and menus are just what is in Chinese, but SOMETIMES the actual voice acting might be in Chinese too. It all depends on if the game devs made a whole other version of the game for each language (or just 2 versions.. the normal version in English with the subtitles and menus for other languages... except Chinese.. and the 2nd version JUST FOR CHINA where the subtitles, menu, AND VOICE ACTING are in Chinese AND the game renders the characters mouths to be speaking Chinese... AND SOME of the game MIGHT BE CHANGED!!! Yes, they will CHANGE THE STORY LINE, or certain elements of the game, to fit the APPROVAL OF THE CCP [the Chinese Communist Party - the government of China] - they DO NOT have FREE SPEECH in China and EVERYTHING HAS TO BE APPROVED BY THE GOVERNMENT.... TV SHOWS, MOVIES, NEWSPAPERS, MAGAZINES, and even VIDEO GAMES... and SOMETIMES if they REALLY want to have their "SUPER EXPENSIVE TO MAKE" video game to get released in China so they can get as much money as possible (remember there are OVER 1 BILLION people in China, with the MAJORITY of them being younger and in that video game playing audience) BUT the CCP might now allow some of the stuff in the original video game, so they might change some parts of it to fit the approval of the CCP (I won't go into the type of stuff that might get changed because there is just TOO MUCH to go over) and if it can't be "fixed" by just changing the subtitles (like an entire scene would have to be removed, plus some dialog, and even parts of someones clothing) there might be so many changes that it's just easier to make a separate version of the game for the Chinese market right from the beginning.... this doesn't happen often, and I would think it only happens on the AAA that already have a huge budget.... so if spending another $10 million on a separate version of the game for China could give you access to the Chinese market, then they will because it could easily turn into $70 Million in sales... and that's if they sell ONLY 1 MILLION copies in China... which is TERRIBLE SALES for the Chinese market... just look at the number for Black Myth: Wu-Kong ..... I think they did $400 Million in sales in the FIRST WEEK JUST IN CHINA!!! And I think that is over DOUBLE what they spent to make it!!!! And that doesn't include THE REST OF THE WORLD!!! So.... you might find some of the PC games are not just in Chinese menus and subtitles, but the dialog could be in Chinese AND it could have parts of the game be TOTALLY DIFFERENT than what everyone else in the States has experienced.... ..And if the game is different, and the dialog is in Chinese, then you will NEVER get it to be in English.... BUT if its just the menus and subtitles, then you might be able to find the English language pack for that game and install it... but I'm not gonna get into how to do that because its different for every game, especially when its not a legit copy of the game... like everything on that entire 12TB drive
Last time I looked at it, these people have no idea what good games are. Example: Look at their PS2 game selection for the disk reviewed. There is no Ratchet & Clank, Sly Cooper or even God of War. Who designs a PS2 rom collection without these games? They do have lot of FIFA, ESPN and other junky games lmao! Also how do you miss that in your review?? Their focus is on maximizing the number of games but actual game selection is extremely weak. Save your money.
The main rom site that ppl use don't have those games available for download (Download unavailable at the request of the Entertainment Software Association) You can still find them because I added all the Jax & Dexter, Sly Cooper and RPG's. All the main rom sites pulled them down but you're right. They should've added all those games as well.

Mine works just fine. I had the controller recognition issue in CEMU, but not on switch. I also apparently have a newer newer version. I have a 2 week old game on mine.
Honestly the biggest flaw of this drive is the duplicates so many arcade game duplicates it looks so unorganized cluttered i like my builds clean
yea when i got mine its was over bloated with kid games i was up set with that they dint have any ff game even with ps3 and it was nuts
Yeah I really don’t understand that. It’s a pretty major omission.
I believe whoever put this build together probably got all the PS2 stuff from Vimm's Lair and all the PS2 RPG stuff got taken down(Final Fantasy/Kingdom Hearts). I ended up adding all the missing RPG games I wanted but they're just harder to find. I added all the new stuff thru Launchbox.
Fellow gamers -- be smart !!! But gaming hard drives from USA modders !!!! It’s way safer !!! Plus, always read customer reviews while considering purchasing gaming hard drives !!!! I only give out good advice !!! Just because some gamers may have no issues with their hard drives means absolutely nothing !!! I know many who have had lots of serious issues !!! These drives should come with very detailed instructions !!
Nintendo is nuts if they are uptight about showing off their games !!! They take it too far !!
Is it easy to install?
HELP PLEASE!!! I just got mine and all the games and hyperspin attraction games say 0 credits. Everyone I open. Does anyone know how to get into settings to add credits? I can not even figure out how to get into settings on the main page where it shows the 5 different emulators. I see setting above in white but can not get to it. i also do not know if i got to that settings if it would be thr right place to ass credits to play games. HELP, PLEASE!!!
No problem! Then select button on your controller basically inserts a coin, giving you the credits you need to play a game.
@@AllGamesNewandOld Hey All Games New and Old, Thank you again. I tried it and it works now. On my "Xbox Controller" it was the Back button, or Top Center left that adds the credits. I specified here in case someone else is as novice as I. I thought this was defective. You are the best.
@bluvivo5622 glad I could help!
The issue with the double controller input, download DS4 and use it. Problem solved
I’ll look into that
DS4?
HELP PLEASE, AGAIN!! Has anyone not been able to play any XBOX360 games all on RETROBAT? Mine says : AN ERROR OCCURED THEEMULATOR EXITED UNEXPECTEDLY OK. So none of the games work. Same exact thing happens with XBOX original, also PS# just acts like it is loading and goes back to main menu. I don't understand why none of these games work? Anyone have a way to fix the settings of anything to make them work? Greatly appreciated.
A 5-1 system is not going to be "plug & play" and is more hassle than its worth. I bought one of the 5TB versions a while back and found it aggravating having to switch from one frontend to another so I just ripped off the roms got rid of as many duplicates as possible and added a load of roms that I already have to put together a 6TB Retrobat build I now have 199 systems in one place. Now if I can do it anybody can its fairly easy and there's so much help on UA-cam the only reason to buy these drives is for the roms.
Well I guess I made a good purchase then. I knew this system would be cluttered, I purchased only for the roms.
I have issues with Amiga 500
Cant get the xbox 360 controller Play Terminator 2 Judgement Day
Where can a I find a flat list of the ps3,Xbox 360 and wiiu games on it?
I think you might be able to request one through their website, though I’m not totally sure.
It's cause kodi doesn't have a build installed yet
I got mine to do English but yeah it’s hard to navigate
NDS games must first unzip. I've seen on another channel. Don't know why, but all are zipped.
Good point. I was just more focused on the RPGs because they somehow missed that entire genre.
The main rom site that ppl use don't have those games available for download (Download unavailable at the request of the Entertainment Software Association) You can still find them because I added all the Jax & Dexter, Sly Cooper and RPG's. All the main rom sites pulled them down but you're right. They should've added all those games as well.
I changed cyberpunk to English
I have a hyperbase mix and its real good. Ps2 selection really good. Not kinhank!!
So apart from the infinity of problems it's a great box 🤣
Heh it’s a good collection and when I’m not having controller problems it’s good. I’m sure the controller issue is fixable. I just have to figure it out.
@@AllGamesNewandOld any hdd emulsion with Switch, Xbox, PS3, PS2 on I'm interested 👍
Gamers -- don’t trust the Chinese - made gaming hard drives. !!!! Way too many serious issues !!! I know from bad experiences plus from others who have unfortunately bought them !!
Especially because creating them yourself is where most of the fun is
you are right !!!
Not a fan of these builds that are just Rom-Dumps. No effort to curate and put out a solid build. Just not worth the price IMO.
Sometimes they have a decent selection of stuff, but this just has some glaring misses.
steamdeck compatible btw
Oh great info! I hadn’t tried that.
My 12 tb needed windows for hyperspin. Wouldn’t boot as a standalone is either. Saying that, windows doesn’t recognize the deck as a full controller, Bluetooth my ps5 one worked alone with Xbox. Next step is the light gun setup 🤷♂️
So i received my drive, and I literally just set it up. But there are not 3 different front ends. I don't have retrobat.I don't have play night!🤬 if advertised 203 switch games i got 62.. I'm kind of pissed off because this is nowhere near what is shown on the video i feel ripped of dude like seriously! I wanted to play tmnt shredder's revenge, my wife wanted yoshis crafted world! I needed a file for show the tears of the kingdom... I'm lucky about to send it back and get my money. If I can't have what's advertised
Are you sure it’s the same one. I showed in my unboxing that it had the three front ends. Maybe you got shipped the wrong thing.
Ok I just checked. I’m not sure what you ordered, but the one my link goes to doesn’t mention any system by name. It says it has 58 large AAA games, but that’s across multiple platforms.
Oh dang it man. I’m sorry. I thought you were replying to something totally different. I’d recommend contacting their support. I haven’t tried to call them but I’ve heard they’re good.
Does the one you have only have Hyperspin on it?
@AllGamesNewandOld it doesn't even have a "core file" it doesn't have retrobat, play night or launchbox. But after doing some digging i found out i was the victim of an old bait and switch from amazon prime day deals.
i got this harddrive just copy the games cause most of the games are hard to find lol cause i was lazy to find them all. but i wipe this entire harddrive clean and because i did nt trust it. i do not want any kinda virus on my gaming pc, plus it would be more fun to do this myself. i already know everything about hyperspin and retrobat and the others and how to make it look all pretty and stuff. I have a rtx asus 4090 gaming pc build and its a beast. one virus can ruin everything and i mean everything. Trust me i know the reason these things Are causing viruses cause they are putting pirate pc games in playnite section thats has major virus on. so please becareful before you buy these harddrive.
Yeah make sure you turn off virus protection lol..
