This is awesome man you’ve confirmed my summer baits for me! I’ve always fished with these baits and now I’m a lot more confident in them. Thanks boss 👊💯
i love flipping braid to leader with bait casters, more people should try it out, its great. one thing to make fishing that way a bit easier, only use about a 7-8 foot leader, so your knot does not have to go through the line guide on your reel. i tie my leaders so the knot sits between my reel and my first line guide on my rod. it makes it certain your knot or the knot's tag end wont snag on the line in your spool, or your line guide when youre pitching around. makes fishing it much smoother.
Out of all the time, derbies, fun fishing, talking fishing at iCast, classics, boat shows, other industry shows and events you’re the only one I’ve ever read or heard that ties your leader that way which is same way I do. Have never had an issue with it. Have used the original FG knot and a variation or two of it. Good luck on the water
I’ve always been concerned about the knot wearing down over time from passing through my guides. I use a leader but it’s half of my spool so I don’t have to use as much to fluro to fill a reel because I don’t like how it casts when it gets to the halfway mark anyway
Hey there, love your content. Keep up the good work! I subscribed to your channel. I will be getting out that way soon to do some fishing for my channel
I need you to get a discount code for the Realtree and Magellan stuff so I can support you by ordering there too. Also, advice for someone wanting to fish for a living? How to get past bfls and such?
Dude love show tips baits whole deal.. BUT when can we see free giveaway on baits to your fans/ Subscribers to channel.. I just won July on Evers channel lol. No real deal love channel like how you go into detail helps us poor weekend warriors.. got see you guys in watts bar on championship day..I’m guy with comment about “just one for more D….” Have good one!!!
Add Salted Tubes to your collection. A weighted hook i found works best for me in my area. With this setup I'll end up catching one every second to fourth cast when i find a school.
Unless I'm in Florida or maybe Texas, I just don't see the point in flipping with braid or braid to leader. I'm just gonna use 20 or even 25lb fluorocarbon🤷♂️ It blows my mind that Greg Hackney or anyone else breaks off 25lb fluorocarbon lol You just have to set the hook that hard
Question… you were talking about the top waters and not going wrong with the top water bite but do you stay with it all day or just day break and sun down? Like in North La… and Caney Lake is LOADED with grass. Do you think it’d be money all day there? (Being as though you said you had an amazing day on that little pond!!) 😂
I LOVE using walking baits over brushpiles in summer mornings!! I’ve drawn strikes from 14’ deep brushpiles in stained water. The bigger the bait, the better. I like the Rapala that you have, Rattlin’ Super Spook, and my absolute new favorite, Berkley Cane Walker! Man what a loud, popping/walking/rattling/splashing/hours in the strike zone lure. And those hooks they use, (Fusion19) are super sharp! Thanks Jacob!!
I definitely HAVE to go down to medium heavy or even medium if I’m flipping/pitching jigs/worms with braid to fluoro. Even with 20lb leader and even on some long casts I broke off so many times a couple summers ago…it was a cruel summer until I learned lol
Thank you Jacob for all you share and all you do!!!!! Also just fished our last Media Bass Teams in Texas here. Definitely hott! Caught so fish but weighed in only one keeper.
Thank you sir for the tips, I am fishing a really clear lake where the grass grows down to 18 to 20 ft, I am finding like you said, the bait balls that they are chasing are causing the fish to suspend or stick tight to the bottom. Have had some luck fishing a light weight texas rig with the weight pegged up about 18 inches. Or throwing a fluke on a weighted hook. What else would you recommend for those situations?
Great video. Up here in northeast, it’s been whopper plopper, drop shot, and chatterbait that’s been working. Using them in 2-3ft water near any cover Im able to cast to from the bank.
I heard you mention center hill lake but I don’t know if you have fished it lately but it is very tough to fish right now because of how they are keeping the water now. The whole lake is covered in saplings from 10 foot and shallower and it has changed the fishing a lot. You got any tips on how to fish a lake like this.
Glad you put in a few bank fishing baits. Most anglers forget about us. I love the Ned. Seems hard to catch anything from the bank since it is so hot. I fish around Booker T Washington State Park. I went to you website to get some merch but when I clicked the shop button it would not go to the store.
Thanks. Been catching 10-20 every trip on Texas rig . Using Creature bait and finesse worms early morning. You are spot on about the fry been seeing tons of little ones.
An awesome video from an awesome angler thanks for sharing your knowledge and tips. Look forward to your next one and always stay safe on the water, good luck on your tours, and God bless.
As always love you videos and you always have something new that I can try that catches me more fish every time. I have never been a big plastic worm fan But I must give this a try and I suspect it will work great as always thanks You're the best
I have to mention that this was one of the better videos I’ve ever seen an angler at your level put out. I feel like so many are really trying to push products down your throat but not really the case here. Awesome explanation of seasonal bass behavior
I feel like these baits are only specific for where you fish at for the month of July. Because every time I try these recommended baits per month they never work.
Fishing small boat tournaments put up a good bag with my co angler the first one then got hosed the next turny. Thanks for the summer tips. Hopefully I can get a better bag next one
Really great video. Most people of your size just want to sell me their brand of lure. You’re an honest fisherman who wants more people to have more success. Thanks a lot!
I like your monthly bait videos! You give a difference perspective than most and it gets us thinking differently. I really appreciate that, sir!
This is awesome man you’ve confirmed my summer baits for me! I’ve always fished with these baits and now I’m a lot more confident in them. Thanks boss 👊💯
This was a good video. Pretty spot on to what I use in Ga in July (summer)
great video would be top 5 worst baits to throw in the summer and why (or each season).
I love this because I gave up fishing years ago and just started again. So I’m getting all the new things plus my old things.
Great video Jacob. Love your energy and knowledge. Wish I could fish with you for just 1 day. 👊
Solid Content, Thanks for sharing your knowledge.
keep up the every mans talk
Thanks for the tip don't buy orange worms good one.😀😀😀

Try using a Daiwa reel when you need to use a leader and a bait caster.
Then why do I only use 8 lb test line? I don’t flip fish.
Thanks for mentioning Center Hill. That’s my home lake, now go get that AOY again!
Wheeler is the man...plain and simple just a fishing stud 💪
I have those two EXACT ploppers, the Size 90 Bluegill Choppo and the Size 75 Bone Whopper Plopper. So cool to see Jacob feature those exact lures!

Anyone can enter the Toyota series or some of the smaller MLF tours. If u win in those, u keep moving up to eventually the pro tours.
Good luck and tight-lines with Stage Six, Jacob!!!
So, just what is the difference between this "Ned Rig" thing, and an old beetle spin body? Size?
New sub! Liked 😀🙏😁
All of these Googan sponsored pros aren’t using their soft or hard plastics. I’m just curious as to why that is?
Great info! Drop shot works well here in Montana bank fishing. As does the swim jig and top water.
Fantastic baits pick. Thank you for sharing 👍
Good explanation on WHY you would select one bait over another.

Great way to explain each bait and why and how to use it...thanks
You can tell Jacob fishes open water a lot - where is the most fun Summer lure....a frog! Four wheel drive bassin - top water bites - big blow ups
Agree with everything
If you were fishing pickwick in July a tournament you wouldn’t fish ledges??
Add Salted Tubes to your collection. A weighted hook i found works best for me in my area. With this setup I'll end up catching one every second to fourth cast when i find a school.
Love these videos! Rely on them each month.
I love this because I gave up fishing years ago and just started again. So I’m getting all the new things plus my old things.
A lot of great insight on the baits & info about the transition of bass, appreciate it👍
What knot do you use tying an 8ft leader(fluorocarbon) with micro guides on your rods?
Great video had to come back to it this month 🤟🏽🤟🏽
I just bought your Jacob wheeler signature series Duckett fishing rod
There are no such things as baits of the month people. Don’t be dumb
A lot of comments about Center hill I brought it up to you at meet the anglers at watts bar love to see you fish it!
Love the video! Looking for similarities and differences. Very helpful. Thanks
You're not with Googan Baits anymore Wheels?
Thanks for the video and giving advice on what to throw in July.
I’ve been wondering why you and googan don’t work together anymore?!
Thanks for the send bro

Transitioning from Salt to Fresh and I Google #1 freshwater fishman and here I am blessed by the pound for pound
I'm over here in the Pacific Northwest and getting bass fishing information for this area seems to get over looked, Hmmm maybe I should move.
I really enjoy watching your videos on your UA-cam channel too help me take my mind off my fight against my kidney disease.

That's only 5 setups but I know you've got 25 more!
Here in Ga with the heat we fish at night
I feel like these baits are only specific for where you fish at for the month of July. Because every time I try these recommended baits per month they never work.
But your the pro, so I guess I just suck at fishing way worse than I thought. Lol.
Why does he remove spinning reel handle cap ?
The braid to floro is generally to let you drop down a power rating in the rod for flipping.
I just received a reply to my comment below that I "won something". Is this legit? I'm thinking it's not...
No
@@WheelerFishing I reported it, already. Just a hacker/scammer...
