If I was to throw out any criticism, it would be that ND seems to be going down the familiar route of casting Hollywood actors rather than fish from the large pond of amazing talent. It’s becoming a growing trend within the industry. The worst culprit for this is Kojima, who famously recast David Hayter in MGSV with Kiefer Sutherland despite it not making sense contextually. Then casting Norman Reedus in the now defunct Silent Hills and of course Death Stranding. Hell, I can remember Vin Diesel being cast in Ark a few years back. Was that needed? It’s not a deal breaker, I’m sure the talent regardless of status will do fine. But it’s just interesting to see a game do this during a time when so many in the industry are struggling to find work.
i might be misremembering but i swear (spoilers for mgs5) you arent playing as big boss the entire game but rather a soldier with plastic surgery to look like him, so it makes sense the voice actor is not david hayter? i might be wrong
@@alexanderhunt88 It was actually Guillermo Del Toro that got Norman the job because Guillermo is actually a HUGE fan of Kojima, and he recommended Kojima to cast Norman because Norman worked with Guilermo on Blade 2. He told Norman, "A man named Kojima will give you a call. No matter what he tells you, say 'yes'". Norman then received a call from Kojima, and Norman immediately said, "Yes!", and that is how he got cast for Silent Hills. Originally, there was someone else who was going to be in that role -- I think they were looking at Keanu Reeves? But Guillermo talked Kojima into hiring Norman because Keanu was busy with something else at the time.
Jack from mass effect is a bald woman but no one had a problem with her bc she was actually not annoying af! Edit: If the leak of the story is true this game is doomed! The leak i read was some of the worst writing ive ever seen! Worst than tlou2!
She was also abused and tormented to horrifying degrees, so it's understandable when you realize. Jack is broken, and being on the Normandy gives her purpose. That's why she looks more normal in ME3. When people begin to normalize emotionally, they begin to look more normal.
Well she’s also not the main character. She’s just one character you can interact out of many and she’s has a good story. To be completely honest I’m not ready to say this new character we saw in the trailer is annoying. That was just one interaction out of many we will see in the game if anybody does decide to play it. I don’t think you can explain the disastrous like to dislike ratio on their channel, but also on the official PlayStation channel or on outlets like IGN etc., with a „downvote campaign“. A lot of people just don’t like it. And I doubt their opinions will change, no matter what Naughty Dog shows next. If it’s not obvious by now, even the guy hosting „The Game Awards“ couldn’t help but notice that many of the nominated games are from Japan. There is a reason for that. Quite a few people have a wrong idea about Naughty Dog‘s success. While TLOU 1 was a huge hit, TLOU 2 underperformed their internal targets by more than 15 million copies. Having good graphics, excellent motion capture and animations isn’t good enough anymore. The core audience doesn’t want this sort of content. If Sony was disappointed with TLOU 2 sales, you can imagine how disappointed they will be with this one. Their management probably has PTSD flashbacks from Concord already. Videos of animated statistical graphs reveal clear trends: nations and economies rise and fall, football clubs dominate and vanish, and the same is true for gaming studios. Naughty Dog is over their peak. The same goes for BioWare, DICE, Bungie, various Ubisoft studios and many others. Many of the people and the culture that made the previous games great aren’t even there anymore.
There can never just be an honest dislike of a product on the part of consumers. It always has to be strategically characterised as some kind of aberration to lessen the impact of valid opinions and criticism. It's a review bomb, a boycott, a campaign, etc. Bankrolling millions of dollars worth of ads and positive press though, that's completely natural. It's all smoke and mirrors. It's also no surprise Japan is being pressured so hard by western companies now that people are fleeing to their products for entertainment. They can't compete with them because they won't stop handicapping themselves.

Norman then received a call from Kojima, and Norman immediately said, "Yes!", and that is how he got cast for Silent Hills.

So she has to hunt down her old crew, where have i seen this before
"Get down here now, you inbred trash!"
Kill Bill? I'm just guessing. Correct me if I'm wrong :p
@@SushiGhost97 red dead
@@SushiGhost97 I meant red dead but kill bill as well
@@pensinseo7745 oh ok lol. I haven't played much red dead. I think ghost of Yotei is doing this too, or something similar with hunting down people named after animals, but kill bill was only with snakes specifically.
I thought the style was really baddass.
If they have some customisation for the character, like giving her hair, dont get why the shaved head protagonist, and of course a good story and gameplay, they cant go with tlou gameplay because its to slow, they might have something here. Dont know why they deactivate comments on their official UA-cam channel, but i can guess😂
I get why. They are trying to build something and people are accusing them of having an agenda. People who are actually building the game. They are not providing actual constructive critism over a game. And it's weird that this is happing over an annoucement trailer no less.
@@mqlmohale5830Drukman has openly admitted to having an agenda. Cut the crap.
@@mqlmohale5830 "accusing them of having an agenda"
Because they DO have an agenda. The head writer was not exactly silent about that after the LoU2 got its backlash.
“Retro-futurism doesn’t do anything for me”
I’m afraid to ask but: what about BioShock bro?!
The lady with the eyepatch seems like a better candidate for the protagonist XD
Great to see Porsche, Adidas, Sony and the Pet Shop Boys still going strong and having mass appeal thousands of years in the future in the middle of outer space.
@@seanv4735 might be stuck next to Jupiter, but at least we got some high top adidas 😂😂
8:48 hey that's the old Ubisoft logo reveal animation
Legit thought the same thing
This man got bullied so hard with the "Luke, I Am Your Father" quote it made him hate future retro vibes haha that is insaaaaaaaaaaane.
Another game I can’t wait not to play
I think the outrage is so phony. Naughty dog puts out CLASSICS. I have full faith in that team to push boundaries once again and create a moment in gaming history. Also, that’s not Troy baker that’s lalo from better call saul.
why are people upset at this? this is HYPE
5:54 thats lalo salamanca from better call saul
@@dibby4482 yes so happy. one of the best TV characters in recent years. and one of thr best villains ever
