River Rising Fast and Flood Warnings at the River House!

We were planning to stay the night but since my son, daughter and my son's friend were with us we decided to play it safe. If it was just me I would have loved to stay and watch the river. It did rise really fast and while this house survived the two big floods in 1976 and and 2013, people died in both floods because they didn't realize how fast the water can rise. It also got really muddy and dark like it was flooding more upstream. We came back today (next day) and everything was fine and the river went back down but it is raining again with flood watches posted.

I have a wash that runs through the center of my property. It has been dry for about 10 years. 9 days ago a flash flood hit just before dark and the wash turned into a raging river in less than 20 minutes. Most of my fencing is down, the roads were flooded, turned my pasture into what looks like the surface of the moon. It was a nail biting night. Still fixing all the damage. (west-central New Mexico)

Yes, time to go, we had severe inundations here as a river rose 10 x as high as normal. 170 dead and some still are missing.
