I went and bought 4 limelight hydrangea and created what will be a hedge. The tag said they grow 6'-8' tall and wide so I opted for 5' spacing and 6' spacing from the neighbors property. I'm so excited! Thanks for the inspo!
There was one boxwood here when we bought this place and not sure what variety, but it likes it here. It has taken the hot sun and drought along with snow loads. I managed to start about a dozen cuttings last year and they are all doing well, it will take a while though 😊. Nice job!
I tried propagating from cuttings years ago and out of 21 cuttings I only had one take.... only to die the following year lol... I am sure I did a lot of things wrong, good luck on yours!
@@SoilandMargaritas I believe I started them in the fall and dipped in rooting powder. They don’t like to be too soggy. I have an area of heavy clay topsoil and our native sandy soil and seems they are doing well in both areas.
Hello Chica! Yes those boxwood look really good this late in the season and you got such a great deal on them! Fingers crossed they all make it through the winter season.
No boxwood problems...yet! I know some people in Michigan had some problems and I know is juts a matter of time before I experience those and I am mentally preparing myself for when that happens.

I get my pink and green ones from Hoselink, they are definitely worth the buy, they also came out with some light green petite ones and I am gonna get some soon to try them.

Hey! If they love their spot where you put them, they will definitely surpass that 6-8' tall, but they take a nice hard pruning... good luck!

The boxwoods really frame the hydrangeas and the heucheras beautifully.
