I personally think it should be Boomerang and Frost that switch sides, not Plastique. The best moment in SS was Boomerang grabbing his booze in the bar and hauling ass out once Flagg broke the monitor, and it was ruined by his coming back unexplained and unjustified. Boomerang is an opportunist, and showing him switch sides at the prospect of freedom from one madman (madwoman, rather) only to find that he's gotten himself under the control of an even madder-man and figuring out how to return to the Squad would be a fun little arc for him.
What if Amanda Waller staged the prison breakout because she knew it would make Bronze Tiger want to join the Suicide Squad? It’s pretty crazy, but if she thinks she really needs Bronze Tiger and is convinced he is necessary to stop worldwide threats, then maybe she would feel its worth letting out a few little guys to stop the big ones

Or just drop King Shark tbh. With Vixen they have the strength of rino or and elephant etc so they dont need muscle persay. King Shark seems to be an unnecessary replacement to killer croc when the role can basically be removed entirely. I mean, what did killercroc actually do that couldnt have been justified another way? he wasnt necessary in the first place - he was basically just the one wierdo ugly villian that was around for the sake of it.

Ok Nando, I thought this was an amazing pitch. I loved almost everything about this, but my one, single, small, tiny change would be to kill Plastique and not Ragdoll. I think that not only could it be played off as an ironic joke that the bomb lady was killed off with a bomb, but I think if there's a fight where the traitors fight the squad, Ragdoll could be used to be actually terrifying to fight because of his contortionist abilities and his design could be modified to be creepy in a Michael Meyers type of way. Personally, I think that Plastique and Ragdoll are the two most easily-killable members on this team and since Captain Boomerang could be used as the explosives guy because of his exploding boomerangs, Plastique could be replaced by Boomerang in the future and he could have more to do (because this version of boomerang is great and needs as much screen time as possible). Also, Ragdoll just has a more unique power set and I'd hate to see any potential amazing scenes with a terrifying contortionist villain going on a killing spree wasted. Anyways, that's just what i thought. What do you think? (Also please don't attack me UA-cam comments, it's just my opinion).
I love the whole Apocalypse Now/Heart of Darkness angle in this pitch, it just fits soo well. I want more pitches movies with literary references because I dig that sort of thing.

Great video, but the one improvement I would personally make to this series is give some theoretical casting for the characters; ie. Who would you want to play Bronze Tiger, Killer Frost, Ragdoll, etc?
Bronze Tiger has already been cast perfectly in the Arrowverse by Michael Jai White (a gross mishandling of both character and actor). Bautista as King Shark (Hulk/Thanos level CGI please) Sofia Boutella as Plastique Maggie Q as Killer Frost Gabrielle Dennis as Vixen Dennis Haysbert as Captain Atom Viggo Mortensen as General Eiling (yes, out of teft field, but he'd do the role justice.)
I would also include Windfall. She's basically an air bender and probably the woobiest character at DC: Abused by her parents, raped by jocks at high-school where *SHE* was expelled for reporting it, and bullied by her sister into joining a super-villain team and when she was caught she died saving the world from Chemo on the Suicide Squad. Plus her inclusion would show Bronze Tiger that not everyone has a choice how they're life turns out.

I think you should start doing pitches for your own cinematic universe. You could start with the big 7 and like, set yourself rules and guidelines (like in your justice league project) the same way studios set certain guidelines for writers and directors, if you get what I mean. If you found a good way to write a compelling script from these guidelines, the end product would be very interesting to see. I’d love to see your take on movies about Batman, the Flash, or even Martian Manhunter.
In retrospect, this was the beginning of a new style for Nando. I'm very glad that he chose to make that pivot, since the change made his channel explode with the potential of his imagination. "Apocalypse Now," with The Suicide Squad would have been 100% gold, especially with how grim both topics are at their intersection. I'd love to see how this movie would play out!

Cool concept, but I think it would run into the same problem as the first one, to many new characters we’d have to be introduced to and learn there powers before the mission, plus adding two more during the mission just would make it a clustered mess. I like the concept but maybe shrink the original squad down to 5 people so there would be more time to develop them

Very interesting to me as a comic fan, but I think for the general public there are too many unknown or uninteresting characters that wouldn't blow over too well. The original suicide squad was pushing this limit as well, Captain Boomerang etc, but I think this would be too much. Bronze tiger beeing too similar to both Batman and Black Panther, King Shark being too much like Killer Croc, Killer frost being a female Mr.Freeze, Plastiqe being the "Deadshot of explosives" and Ragdoll having kind of a circus aesthetic similar to Joker and Quinn would make all this way too confusing and weird for the average viewer. You are doing this while remaking the origin of Captain Adam (this would also anger fans) and introducing Vixen plus a whole new villain.
I see where you’re coming from this but it’s worth noting that the MCU was a massive success to the general audience despite being built on C and D listers to the general populace, ESPECIALLY when taking into account the success of the first Guardians movie featuring a bunch of characters that 90% of the general audience didn’t know

The main dceu movies are failing and taking a risk like this is just not a great idea imo. All the other dc movies were criticized for having too many characters and not spending enough time on the developement of said characters and turning that up to 200% is a death sentence for the dceu if it's not dead already.

One thing I'd change, as a continuation from my idea spawned from your Justice League rewrite of having Flash be Wally West instead of Barry Allen, and there having been a Barry Allen Flash previously that disappeared years ago (as part of a previous, smaller scale Age of Heroes before the one beginning now with the current movies, where none of the heroes ever really teamed up), is to have the large number of super villains but lack of heroes in Central City that you have Bronze Tiger try to fill but eventually get caught be due to the gap between Barry Allen's disappearance and Wally West eventually taking up the mantle.

I'm not really for a world ending scenario for the next suicide squad movie (I feel like going smaller scale would fit better), but this is a well constructed idea. I defiantly like a lot of the components you put in for the characters and aesthetic. Along with that I like what you did with Bronze Tiger in this. In this kind of setting he could be an interesting mirror to Batman and how he grows as a character through bonding with these villains. Overall, good job!
That's a really good idea! I like the fact that the mission is initially low-key. The first movie's missiin was too public to send in a black-ops team; this mission is small & secretive, but turns big & loud once things turn south. I love it!

It's about RWBY, the youtube show but instead if Volume 3 hadn't escalated to a world saving fight against the Grim's master and simply remained a battle against a more complex White Fang. Part 0 is on my channel.
I like it but I'd rather want to see your suggestion on the video Saving Captain Bomerang. The whole Biyaliya concept is cool and of course some of the squad members can be changed but it would be different from typical superhero/anti-hero stories we've already seen on screen, the big and small. Plus Legends of Tomorrow already did the whole spear of destiny thing and the Legion of Doom was on that so it's almost the exact same concept just with a team of (mostly)heroes as the protaganists instead of the Suicide Squad.

I'm not really a fan of this pitch, too crowded & WB isn't known for let the directors do what they like in regard of the DCEU, I'm hoping that they give up on that & follow the way of independent movies telling independent stories like the Joker of Joaquin Phoenix. But, if I had the chance to pitch a reboot to this IP would be more like a prison break with Amanda pulling the strings of the squad to see how well they work together

Great idea including Bronze Tiger. I liked him a lot in Suicide Squad Hell to pay the animated movie. It was interesting to see him have to work with people that he usually would be against.
This is really interesting. This type of video, along with the Justice League Rewrite is really interesting. My only criticism is that we don’t hear the whole story and character beats, but I understand that would take ridiculous amounts of work for you. Still, your take on characters plots are really interesting and entertaining. Honestly, the DCEU would be much more interesting if they use more obscure characters, storylines and lore, rather than Superman and Batman again.

Great pitch, the only change that I would say is that I don't think Killer Frost would join Eling because of Frost's deal with Waller (she can research a cure in return she join task force x) I would say it would make more sense if King Shark joined Eiling since he has no real loyalty to the squad. But that's just me tho
Yeah, too much, honestly. I know the Arrowverse has gotten really big, and I'm not saying that the films should leave everything they've touched alone, but Captain Atom was the ONLY new character that hasn't appeared on Arrow (and Killer Frost is a huge supporting character), and the whole "Spear of Destiny" plot took up an entire season of Legends (which is already slightly squad-y in the sense that it's a group of mostly minor characters, includes villains and morally grey characters, and has an offbeat, irreverent flavor to it.)
After credits scene: Waller: this isn't working, task force x are too powerful they are unpredictable we need a focal point, at the end of the day these all fuckers are just villains. I'll make sure you're stripped off your criminals charges but in return we need you to lead this team (Rick dies in the sequel I guess). Jason Todd:...... I would need guns lots of em.
This was a really good pitch and I think this format has a lot of potential if you decide to do it again in the future. My one issue with the video is that I wish you went a bit more in-depth with the story, especially the ending (I really want to know how the squad gets out of the situation you describe at the end of the video lol). You probably don't have to make it as in-depth as your Justice League rewrite, but if it was around the level of you Bizarro or Black Panther video in terms of depth, that'd be great. tl;dr I'd like to see more of this and it'd be great if you talked about the ending/resolution of the movie in the future

Better Idea: Bloodsport leads a new squad of villains: Dr Light, Killer Frost, Plastique and Kite Man on mission to intercept Weasel at an airport and bring him back to Belle Reve to be sanitized or killed. But the group encounters an immortal psycho, Vandal Savage, with a goal of exterminating the entire population. long story short only Bloodsport, Dr Light, Killer Frost, Plastique and Weasel would be the survivors. Spoiler: Kite Man survives. As it turns out, he's spy for Ms Waller.

I liked it. You kinda lose me at the spear turning that dude into a being of pure energy at the end but the heart of darkness with super powers thing is a crazy great idea.
This would make an amazing movie. I don't expect Gunn to come up with a movie idea this good. I really love the new character inclusions of Bronze Tiger, Killer Frost, Vixen, and Captain Atom. Those would all be great characters for them to bring to life.
Pretty cool. Two other things I would add would A: make it R-rated, and B: maybe have some of the Squad be jealous at Bronze Tiger for being the only member besides Flag to not have the explosives since Waller trusts him.

Guess Flag is already in that role. And the Ice Girl kinda have the same premisse.
I think Killer Frost would probably end up serving that role given her Ice-Psuedo-Vamprism, but I think Windfall would do that better.

I think a lot of the appeal of these videos is that he is playing with existing characters. This allows all the existing backstory to color the story.

Very interesting to me as a comic fan, but I think for the general public there are too many unknown or uninteresting characters that wouldn't blow over too well. The original suicide squad was pushing this limit as well, Captain Boomerang etc, but I think this would be too much. Bronze tiger beeing too similar to both Batman and Black Panther, King Shark being too much like Killer Croc, Killer frost being a female Mr.Freeze, Plastiqe being the "Deadshot of explosives" and Ragdoll having kind of a circus aesthetic similar to Joker and Quinn would make all this way too confusing and weird for the average viewer. You are doing this while remaking the origin of Captain Adam (this would also anger fans) and introducing Vixen plus a whole new villain.
I see where you’re coming from this but it’s worth noting that the MCU was a massive success to the general audience despite being built on C and D listers to the general populace, ESPECIALLY when taking into account the success of the first Guardians movie featuring a bunch of characters that 90% of the general audience didn’t know
@@BooksfromaBiGuy "despite being built on C and D listers" The key factor there is built on, they slowly built up a belivable universe adding more and more characters, the Guardians movie was arguably the biggest step they ever took and that only came after years and years of gaining an audiance. The main dceu movies are failing and taking a risk like this is just not a great idea imo. All the other dc movies were criticized for having too many characters and not spending enough time on the developement of said characters and turning that up to 200% is a death sentence for the dceu if it's not dead already.
@@clutchmamba1176 clutchmamba Well you are right you don't really need that for a good movie, but you kinda do for a financially successful movie, just look at bvs, it was pretty successful and it was arguably a bad movie, this why I said that as a fan this would be interesting and not: this will be a bad movie. I think the average moviegoer would be not that interested in something like this and it would be very very hard to make this script work, when you have to introduce and develop this many characters. Maybe James Gunn could do it or maybe not, either way I think this wouldn't be the best script for a new suicide squad

Interesting pitch, also, some of my favorite parts from your videos is when you introduce new characters and me being the DC fan knows who these characters are, like when you mentioned the name "Nathaniel Adams", I knew he is Captain Atom and when you started talking about the 8th member of the squad my first thought was bronze tiger. Damn, another great video! One thing I'd change, as a continuation from my idea spawned from your Justice League rewrite of having Flash be Wally West instead of Barry Allen, and there having been a Barry Allen Flash previously that disappeared years ago (as part of a previous, smaller scale Age of Heroes before the one beginning now with the current movies, where none of the heroes ever really teamed up), is to have the large number of super villains but lack of heroes in Central City that you have Bronze Tiger try to fill but eventually get caught be due to the gap between Barry Allen's disappearance and Wally West eventually taking up the mantle.

Fantastic video man! Would love to see more like these and the Justice League Rewrite. I really like how you always take a bunch of obscure characters and use them in a way that's natural and makes sense for the plot you've created.
I was so into this and imagining in my head how all of this would play out that when you said I hope you guys like the pitch I felt like I was taken out of the middle of really watching a movie lol this was an amazing premise and a great way to add new characters that serve an actual purpose

this concept is kinda out there with the spear of christ and the giant shark in the the amazon rainforest, but this is the most DC comics pitch for a movie that i've ever heard and love it. Keep up the great work dude i love your videos :)

Though I love the videos where you go in really detailed and basically make a screenplay of your theoretical movies, the pitch style is cool!
I'm not really for a world ending scenario for the next suicide squad movie (I feel like going smaller scale would fit better), but this is a well constructed idea.
I defiantly like a lot of the components you put in for the characters and aesthetic. Along with that I like what you did with Bronze Tiger in this. In this kind of setting he could be an interesting mirror to Batman and how he grows as a character through bonding with these villains. Overall, good job!

That's a really good idea! I like the fact that the mission is initially low-key. The first movie's missiin was too public to send in a black-ops team; this mission is small & secretive, but turns big & loud once things turn south. I love it!

I'm also trying something of the pitch/rewrite variety on my channel. You inspired me to try. It's about RWBY, the youtube show but instead if Volume 3 hadn't escalated to a world saving fight against the Grim's master and simply remained a battle against a more complex White Fang. Part 0 is on my channel.
I like it but I'd rather want to see your suggestion on the video Saving Captain Bomerang. The whole Biyaliya concept is cool and of course some of the squad members can be changed but it would be different from typical superhero/anti-hero stories we've already seen on screen, the big and small. Plus Legends of Tomorrow already did the whole spear of destiny thing and the Legion of Doom was on that so it's almost the exact same concept just with a team of (mostly)heroes as the protaganists instead of the Suicide Squad.

I'm not really a fan of this pitch, too crowded & WB isn't known for let the directors do what they like in regard of the DCEU, I'm hoping that they give up on that & follow the way of independent movies telling independent stories like the Joker of Joaquin Phoenix. But, if I had the chance to pitch a reboot to this IP would be more like a prison break with Amanda pulling the strings of the squad to see how well they work together
Great ideas the only thing I would have added would be as the mid credits scene we see waller and Elling in a flashback working on something that could probably be the next villain in the 3 part

This is really interesting. This type of video, along with the Justice League Rewrite is really interesting. My only criticism is that we don’t hear the whole story and character beats, but I understand that would take ridiculous amounts of work for you. Still, your take on characters plots are really interesting and entertaining. Honestly, the DCEU would be much more interesting if they use more obscure characters, storylines and lore, rather than Superman and Batman again.

Great pitch, the only change that I would say is that I don't think Killer Frost would join Eling because of Frost's deal with Waller (she can research a cure in return she join task force x) I would say it would make more sense if King Shark joined Eiling since he has no real loyalty to the squad. But that's just me tho

Yeah, too much, honestly. I know the Arrowverse has gotten really big, and I'm not saying that the films should leave everything they've touched alone, but Captain Atom was the ONLY new character that hasn't appeared on Arrow (and Killer Frost is a huge supporting character), and the whole "Spear of Destiny" plot took up an entire season of Legends (which is already slightly squad-y in the sense that it's a group of mostly minor characters, includes villains and morally grey characters, and has an offbeat, irreverent flavor to it.)

This was a really good pitch and I think this format has a lot of potential if you decide to do it again in the future. My one issue with the video is that I wish you went a bit more in-depth with the story, especially the ending (I really want to know how the squad gets out of the situation you describe at the end of the video lol). You probably don't have to make it as in-depth as your Justice League rewrite, but if it was around the level of you Bizarro or Black Panther video in terms of depth, that'd be great.
tl;dr I'd like to see more of this and it'd be great if you talked about the ending/resolution of the movie in the future
Man, I really liked that pitch! I would’ve had rag doll stay alive though and have a post credit scene set up a secret six movie with him and dead shot. You could kill plastique maybe and have someone else betray the group
Better Idea: Bloodsport leads a new squad of villains: Dr Light, Killer Frost, Plastique and Kite Man on mission to intercept Weasel at an airport and bring him back to Belle Reve to be sanitized or killed. But the group encounters an immortal psycho, Vandal Savage, with a goal of exterminating the entire population. long story short only Bloodsport, Dr Light, Killer Frost, Plastique and Weasel would be the survivors. Spoiler: Kite Man survives. As it turns out, he's spy for Ms Waller.

I liked it. You kinda lose me at the spear turning that dude into a being of pure energy at the end but the heart of darkness with super powers thing is a crazy great idea.

This would make an amazing movie. I don't expect Gunn to come up with a movie idea this good. I really love the new character inclusions of Bronze Tiger, Killer Frost, Vixen, and Captain Atom. Those would all be great characters for them to bring to life.

Pretty cool. Two other things I would add would A: make it R-rated, and B: maybe have some of the Squad be jealous at Bronze Tiger for being the only member besides Flag to not have the explosives since Waller trusts him.
