This was a fantastic pitch Troy I love how you told this incredible story while maintaining continuity within the DCU and your inspiration from Superman Smashes The Klan and Up, Up In The Sky. Your ideas including Darkseid, Lobo, Jimmy and Lois are pure genius (I especially love some Lobo and Jimmy Olsen). This felt like a ticking clock story that sounds too good to the waist. I hope we get a film that gives audiences a sense of inspiration and reminds people that they're going to be okay because someone will always be there for them. BTW a fan casting for Jimmy Olsen I had in mind was Wyatt Oleff. I think he would be a great Jimmy Olsen as he is currently 19 yrs old so I can see him playing a bit of a dorky, yet lovable intern photographer at the Daily Planet. I'd recommend his work in the It films (Chapters One & Two) and especially on the Netflix series, I Am Not Okay With This (2020) where you really see his comedic nature and charming charisma which would fit Jimmy Olsen all too well in my opinion.
I can't say I agree with all of your prewrites, but I can say in full confidence that seeing how much better you've gotten at doing them and understanding different characters has come to light at its best here! Although Superman isn't my favorite Superhero, it's always a shame to see such a beloved icon not get the love and respect they deserve, as he's perceived in so many different ways by so many different people. I'm beginning to have faith again with the respective successes of "The Batman" & "Shazam", and with James Gunn taking over, that we can see a story as good as yours on the big screen! I'm always fifty-fifty on how you handle your villains though! Some of them are perfect and beyond my expectations, and some of them feel like you don't know what to do with them despite wanting them there. (I believe the latter to be the case here.) I really liked the smaller, more focused plot, but (given your exact plot) I would've preferred something like a maniac torturing the girl for unknown motivations until they're explored in/near the third act, with the maniac being revealed to be just like Clark, (so much so to the point of wanting to study him through means of the girl): a survivor from a long-lost or barely surviving planet, but one who'd lost all hope and embodies a darker side to what Clark could've been under more unfortunate circumstances. Not only does Clark bring hope back to the girl, who has at this point truly lost it; forgotten the feeling *entirely*, but he also shows the villain what hope really feels like after beating them. (I'm sure there's a character like that in the lore that'd fit perfectly lol) Also, I thought you were going for Martian Manhunter with the post-credits scene, and I honestly think he'd be perfect for a new wave of beloved, more hopeful re-representations such as this! Thanks for the video, and all the effort put into the storytelling (in all its forms)!
I think that’s a completely fair critique! As cool as it would be to see Darkseid in more “official” DCEU content, maybe it’s pushing it too much for him to be concerned so much about one girl. I thought the story itself that was made was definitely pretty good for the most part though
I am telling you right now, people need to know how great Superman is and you got the exact feeling of what Superman means and it reminds me why I love this channel. The passion, thank you Troy

@@immaturian9652 Eh, i think Man of Steel dwelved quite enough into exploring Superman's Kryptonian roots. It'd be better for the sequel to just focus on Superman doing Superman stuff.

I cried watching this as a comic book fan. It was nice to see that you understood SuperMan in a way that many don’t anymore. It was nice that you have a nod to one of my favorite stories and books of all time. It was nice to know you too wanted a traditional SuperMan movie in the face of cynicism and it was nice to have such an intimate story. I have always loved your work and this is no different. Thank you for this, you’ve made my day.
I like how this is kind of like a combination alien abduction/quest movie with Superman. And I also like Darkseid as the villian because of how well it goes with thematically with hope vs hopelessness.
Up In The Sky is absolutely one of my favourite comic books ever so I'm so happy to see it get the representation it deserves here Edit: I literally almost screamed when I realised you were about to say Jimmy Olsen (I think if he was younger Jack Quaid would do a great job but he's too old at this point)

Thank you so much for this! I hope Gunn or Cavill sees this. We need a hopeful, intimate, « smaller-stakes », Superman story and this one was beautiful. Save one person. So simple, yet so heroic. Brother man, your rewrites are so damn good! You did your thing with the SpiderMan series, and I don’t know how many more of these that you have planned but what I do know is that they’ll be masterpieces.
This prewrite is so good 😭😭 I recently found your channel and am loving the content and these style of videos! You got me excited for a movie that will never come out
This was amazing Troy. I loved the Commentary that you had in the prewrite,it perfectly fits the Superman character and just made for a compelling story about just saving one person and the importance of that. Also I really enjoyed the things you did with Lois’s character and the inclusion of John Kent.and that crypto the super dog PCS😂
I recently laid out my own Superman story about Brainiac. It’s really great to see so many of us fans pitching a true hopeful Superman story. Loved this! I also loved the Clark video back when that was released. I was never a huge fan of Superman as a kid (I was more of a Spider-Man and Batman kid) but the past few years I’ve fallen in love with Superman and what he means. I’ve rewatched Superman And Lois so many times. Hands down my favorite modern Superman.
A jimmy Olsen fan cast that always seemed cool to me was Grant Gustin. He might be too old now, but I remember him saying it’s a personal dream of his to play him and he’s a enormous Superman fan
I like how you use elements from "Superman Smashes the Klan", one my favorite Superman stories. In my pitch for Superman film, I would just adapt this story, replacing the comic villains with Metallo and the Intergang (or Sons of Liberty), with Lex Luthor in the background, manipulating the events. Detail: The film would not be MOS 2 but rather a soft reboot, much like James Gunn Suicide Squad. with some recasts (instead of Eiseberg, Luthor could be played by someone like Billy Zane or Michael Fassbender) and few changes to Superman backstory (in this version Jonathan Kent still alive). Also, the post credit scene would be Supergirl escaping from Warworld, setting up Mongul as the villain in the sequel (which would be adaptation of the recent PKJ Warworld saga)
I actually love that idea. If we wanted to have a smaller scale Man of Steel story, having a completely earthbound threat would be interesting for Superman to have, since he hasn’t really fought against Lex yet on the big screen
@@clarkstrange2142 A small scale Superman film would also be nice way to let the sequels expand his side of DC Universe, being bigger and introducing bigger challenges for Clark to overcome. Luthor doesn't need to be villain in one film, nor have a direct conflict with Superman right from the start, but rather he could be villain for a whole trilogy. One arc I always wanted to see in Superman trilogy was Luthor introduction in the 1st film, establish his rivalry with Superman , then, in the 2nd, he helps the Man of Steel stop a bigger threat gaining public trust and, in the end announcing his campaing for president of USA, with the 3rd film having Superman dealing with the possibilite of his arch-enemy become president (to make things more complex, the 3rd film could also have Manchester Black and the Elite trying to push Superman into killing Luthor before he win the election).
Don't you love it when the troyoboyo channel pops up on you page. I certainly do. Thank you for ALL THIS amazing content and for making me realize why I love superheroes. And just so you know I don't watch dc content that much but for you, I make an exception and watch it and I don't regret it.
I loved this Fanboy Prewrite. It’s definitely one of my favorites. I would give your movie a 10/10 tbh. I swear, Superman needs more love in the big screen these days. Luckily we got good Superman content in TV and in the Cartoons too tho. He’s part of my Top 3 favorite Super-Heroes of all time, right next to Spider-Man and The Flash. I love Superman not by his powers, but by his personality and what he represents. He’s the symbol of hope, kindness and optimism. The world needs Superman more than ever.
Up in the sky had easily my favorite darkseid moment of all time in it. Superman goes to darkseid asking for help. Darkseid says he has to kill someone, anyone, and Darkseid will reveal where the girl is being held and how he can get there. Superman is left with a quandry, and eventually we see him visit an alien world where there's an alien, dying of an incurable illness. It cuts away as superman arrives at his door. Now Superman is back with darkseid and tells him he did it. Darkseid laughs and says he's lying. "If it is a lie, than I've broken *my* word. And if it's the truth, than I've *broken* my word. Either way, darkseid, you win."
I’m not lying when I say I genuinely nearly cried at this video, I love superman so so much, to me he is the beacon of the indomitable human spirit, he’s the thing I look up to when I see hate and sadness everywhere around me, im not even a huge comic or superhero fan but I just can’t help but smile when I think about superman
DAAAAAAAAMMMNNNN!!! You really went out for this video. I really loved it and espacilaly the message you sent with it. Lately i’ve been more angry at everyone and this video showed me that i could, should and now gonna be better. Thank you soo much!
IU really like the diea of this film, but personally it feels more pitched as a TV show. It would allow for enough time to flesh out all the characters whilst also leaving enough time for Clark to interact with the people he's saving.
My only problem with this great script is that Tomar-Re is kind of wasted. I don't know if you picked an alien Green Lantern at random, but, if he interacts with Superman, I think they should about, you know, the thing. For those not in the know, Earth is in space sector 2814. Tomar is, basically, our neighbor, patrolling sector 2813. Krypton's sector. Tomar-Re failed to prevent Krypton's destruction, and that's his biggest regret as a Green Lantern. Zod has even given shit to his son, Tomar-Tu, after he died. If the two were to meet, I think the story should adress this. Alternatively you could just use Abin Sur or Sinestro, assuming this would come before a Green Lantern movie. Or my main man Kilowog
This was a fantastic video. For your question on Jimmy. It depends on age. If you want a younger Jimmy get Noah Schnapp. But for a Jimmy around Clark’s age get Nathan Kress. They both carry that geeky nature.
This did not have to age so horribly… I pray to God that James Gunn knows what to do because, as stated by this video, WE NEED SUPERMAN. And we wanted it to be Henry… I’m so tired of the disrespect towards Henry Cavill man…
Honestly if they asked me a superman reboot I'd just slam up in the sky on the table. The chapter where supes and Clark are divided is the best way to make someone get superman
You my friend are the greatest when it comes to writing Superman stories, and both this and “CLARK” are absolutely incredible! I truly believe that one day you will write a Superman movie! ❤️☮️
I've actually written multiple scripts for the Green Lantern film saga, and I definitely see them making a Justice League 2 with either The Legion of Doom, Darkseid or any other Justice League villain
@@srstriker6420 Yeah sure why not. Although I was thinking Despero could be utilised as an intergalactic cult leader in a GL tv series, similar to how he was depicted in The Justice Lease animated show (DCAU)

I genuinely got on the edge of my seat with the excitement watching this. I had the biggest smile at so many times during this, and I gasped when I realized it was going to be Krypto. Good fucking job.
As much as I love Lois as a character, I woukd focus more on clark, his psyche. Would include more elements from up in the sky like Clark and superman getting split into two and having him box and stuff. Lois' solo story could make an amazing HBO max series with more world building around metropolis. That allows you to explore her as a character as well and establish more of metropolis. I feel that this story would work if brainiac was the villain who took the girl to study humans as he believed that nobody would look for one little girl in a world full of people who can be capable of great apathy. And we would still get cameos from the GLC and would have the thanagarian/raan war and Clark trying to stop them as well. Those two races showing up united in the end would be even dope. The pinnacle of human empathy vs the universe's ultimate representation of cold calculating apathy would be dope.
When a youtuber is able to write/pitch an accurate Superman movie with Cavil's superman and a Hollywood A list writer has to reboot EVERYTHING to rehash whats been seen
You know, as much as I'm not a big fan of Henry Cavill's Superman, I feel sorry for him, he wanted to make a classic Superman, hopeful, fun and smiling, but unfortunately Snyder's vision wasn't what he wanted, you can see on his face that he really wanted this, I hope that in the future he will have the opportunity to redeem himself and make a better Superman.
It may be a UA-cam pitch, but this pitch alone sets the standard for what Superman should be… a friend. If James Gunn’s Superman is anything like this (which it seems like it will) then we will have won!
From someone whos not been much of a fan of superman you have made me really like the character. How you are not an actual director yet idek cuz your work is amazing
Commenting just so this video gets the engagement it rightfully deserves because man it was a fantastic watch. I've enjoyed a lot of your prewrites but this might just be my favorite so far. Great work!
How about Jack Quaid for Jimmy Olsen? He the voice of Clark Kent in the upcoming “My Adventures With Superman”. That would make him the first person to play both Superman and Jimmy Olsen.
I love how you took Up in the Sky and twisted it into your own original thing, and I love the way you used the non-linear structure. I also love that we both had the idea of putting Lobo in it. And your idea of having pregnant Lois go after Lex is way better than my idea of having her ask herself if she has any urgency anymore, and if she needs Superman, and eventually writing 'Why The World Needs Superman.' I adore how the comic book uses the Earth heroes, and the attack on Earth, but I really loved how you took the people Superman meets along the way in space instead.
This might actually be my favorite Superman fan-pitch I've seen. It probably helps that Up in the Sky might actually be my favorite Superman story (the only kind of sort of negative is that it doesn't have that much Lois; but for the character himself, it's my favorite), but this is just really well put together and utilizes all the characters in such cool ways.
As a huge Krypto fan, that post credit scene works perfectly! It's also super wholesome, not only does Clark have a son now; but he also has a dog too!
I'm back again watching this, and the only thing I have to say is that Lobo is strong enough to fight Superman without a trick. But, it's still awesome and it works well.
Nah This is a great Story. It connects perfectly with the dceu and to the more hopeful version superman was developing into. Love the idea of Darkseid scheming in the background like the comics; He's an evil mastermind.
I love this, I want this to be a movie so freaking bad. You are so talented, and I love your work and I look forward to seeing more. Man I wish that this would be the next movie, Warner Bros. should hire you!
This video completely flipped my perspective on Superman. I have to admit that for a long time I was one of the people who thought Superman was boring because he was too powerful but after this video and more recently My Adventures with Superman, I've really started enjoying the character.

(I believe the latter to be the case here.)
I really liked the smaller, more focused plot, but (given your exact plot) I would've preferred something like a maniac torturing the girl for unknown motivations until they're explored in/near the third act, with the maniac being revealed to be just like Clark, (so much so to the point of wanting to study him through means of the girl): a survivor from a long-lost or barely surviving planet, but one who'd lost all hope and embodies a darker side to what Clark could've been under more unfortunate circumstances. Not only does Clark bring hope back to the girl, who has at this point truly lost it; forgotten the feeling *entirely*, but he also shows the villain what hope really feels like after beating them. (I'm sure there's a character like that in the lore that'd fit perfectly lol)
Also, I thought you were going for Martian Manhunter with the post-credits scene, and I honestly think he'd be perfect for a new wave of beloved, more hopeful re-representations such as this!
Holy FUCK Troy this is absolutely beautiful. This is exactly the type of video I love to see on this platform, the pure, heartfelt, passionate kind that taps into the heart of what really matters, both in stories and in real life. You should be so proud of this one, man.
That title card after Truth, Justice and a (Man of)Tomorrow was SO dope
This is what I would’ve titled my own Superman move if I ever had the chance of making one :)
Same
I would call it “The Last Son of Krypton”
@@immaturian9652 Eh, i think Man of Steel dwelved quite enough into exploring Superman's Kryptonian roots. It'd be better for the sequel to just focus on Superman doing Superman stuff.
@@FrancisCastiglione Exactly. The title should represent Clark finally operating under the Superman ideals we come to expect imo now that he spent 2 films in discovering himself and his origins.
Thank you for this, you’ve made my day.
wEll tHaT dIdNt AgE wEll
That pfp is incredible
the finale message has me in tears, growing up i faced a lot of discrimination and that message was just amazing. i hope they do adapt this one day.
I like how this is kind of like a combination alien abduction/quest movie with Superman. And I also like Darkseid as the villian because of how well it goes with thematically with hope vs hopelessness.
Up In The Sky is absolutely one of my favourite comic books ever so I'm so happy to see it get the representation it deserves here
Edit: I literally almost screamed when I realised you were about to say Jimmy Olsen (I think if he was younger Jack Quaid would do a great job but he's too old at this point)
Jack Quaid would be such a good Jimmy!
Never thought of Jack Quaid but I agree.
Commenting for two reasons:
1. For the algorithm because PEOPLE. NEED. TO. SEE. THIS.
2. What a wonderful pitch, I was so deeply moved. That seen where he hears her across space was tear jerking. Thank you so much for this! I hope Gunn or Cavill sees this.
We need a hopeful, intimate, « smaller-stakes », Superman story and this one was beautiful.
Save one person. So simple, yet so heroic.
(P.S. That Batman cameo was perfect. I want to see them as friends and hanging out)
This is legit the best video you’ve ever made- I needed to hear that. Thank you.
**Insert Massive Applause GIF**
This was excellent, mate! As always. - you have a unique talent for this and you're going places, of that I have no doubt! This level of attention to detail coupled with the love of the subject matter can only go unnoticed for so long before your talents are snapped up. God speed, tryoboyo17!
Also; the message at 28:34 and the way you delivered it, was amazing! You should be proud of what you are capable of.
Yeah so, i cried...
I'm from Brazil and i can conect with a lot of things mentioned in the video, thx for this video and hope we can get something like this in the theathers soon.
James Gunn sabe o que faz, a gente vai ganhar uma amálgama linda das melhores histórias do Superman, com uma versão otimista, humana, carismática e com um sorriso enorme
I watch this video whenever I feel overwhelmed or tired, and it honestly brightens my day quite a bit, you did a fantastic job
You got me excited for a movie that will never come out
They need to change the fact that Amanda Waller is not a nick fury type she is as bad as the villains
this was wonderful, the ending made me cry, we'd all be lucky to have a movie with a story this good
It amazes me how you can always make me cry with your pre-writes keep going strong man.
I'm speechless, this is everything I hope for in a Superman story. Honestly, one of my favorite pitches yours yet!
0:10 Cavill: I probably shouldn’t deserve to wear the cape
Excuse me?!
I'll be honest, I've always been someone that doesn't quite get Superman, but oh my god I do now. Fantastic. Thank you.
This is the Superman film we need and the one we deserve. Love this pitch.
Another wonderful pre-write man, keap at it
I feel like Cameron Monaghan perfectly fits the mold for a live action Jimmy Olsen, he is an actor, and.. well I mean just look at him he's perfect
Holy shit the cover of the Man of Steel theme with Henry just... talking, at the start there, nearly made me cry. We need this movie so badly.
A jimmy Olsen fan cast that always seemed cool to me was Grant Gustin. He might be too old now, but I remember him saying it’s a personal dream of his to play him and he’s a enormous Superman fan
I mean grant still looks young so I can see it and this is a great idea
@@alexandrefrauches132 for a moment there I thought Mongul would appear since the Black Mercy
It’s sad that this video rendered out of date because of Henry not playing Superman anymore. But it’s still and awesome concept and cool video!
I’m glad this wasn’t one of my “add to watch later and only watch a month later” videos lol
Fantastic pre write, i really do mean it. I think it'd be cool to see Troy do a X-men related pre write in the future
This is so good, the ending almost brought me to tears. Someone send this to James Gunn lol
This might be the best Superman story I've ever heard
Thank you, this helped me, great message 🙂
This was a fantastic video. For your question on Jimmy. It depends on age. If you want a younger Jimmy get Noah Schnapp. But for a Jimmy around Clark’s age get Nathan Kress. They both carry that geeky nature.
Jimmy Olsen is a complicated casting but I think Jack Quaid would be good in the role
Oh I agree!
Jack Quaid is actually doing the voice of Superman in an animated series
This did not have to age so horribly… I pray to God that James Gunn knows what to do because, as stated by this video, WE NEED SUPERMAN. And we wanted it to be Henry… I’m so tired of the disrespect towards Henry Cavill man…
Honestly if they asked me a superman reboot I'd just slam up in the sky on the table. The chapter where supes and Clark are divided is the best way to make someone get superman
Rewatching this after the terrible news. Henry Cavill will forever be my Superman
You my friend are the greatest when it comes to writing Superman stories, and both this and “CLARK” are absolutely incredible! I truly believe that one day you will write a Superman movie! ❤️☮️
How about Green Lantern or Justice League 2 next? Either would be so fun.
I've actually written multiple scripts for the Green Lantern film saga, and I definitely see them making a Justice League 2 with either The Legion of Doom, Darkseid or any other Justice League villain
@@milkiassamuel780 like Despero?
@@srstriker6420 Yeah sure why not. Although I was thinking Despero could be utilised as an intergalactic cult leader in a GL tv series, similar to how he was depicted in The Justice Lease animated show (DCAU)
Dude I swear, I want this to be the title of an MoS sequel ever since the begining. I also wanted the tagline to be "you will believe". Just that. Whoever gets it, gets it
This is the ultimate superman story I longed for. Anti fascist symbol of hope stands tall against all hatred...... I cried so much listening to this story. You're a phenomenal writer. ❤️ as a trans woman myself I fight against transphobia everyday. This was a relief and hope for me. 🏳️⚧️✊🏼
Damn this gave me actual goosebumps this is amazing.
I genuinely got on the edge of my seat with the excitement watching this. I had the biggest smile at so many times during this, and I gasped when I realized it was going to be Krypto. Good fucking job.
Lex planning for lois to go into labour during the meeting is such a fucked up Luthor thing to do, particularly this version of Luthor
This got a 20 out of 10 the second Lobo showed up
The Main Man has long deserved his chance on the silver screen. Hopefully, the rumours of a Lobo project end up being true.
Damn dude, I got goosebumps! Amazing video
Amazing video troyo🎉
It may be a UA-cam pitch, but this pitch alone sets the standard for what Superman should be… a friend. If James Gunn’s Superman is anything like this (which it seems like it will) then we will have won!
I really like the imagery of Superman flying through space and EVERYONE on different planets watch and understand that Superman can do the impossible
Great work!
This gave me goosebumps and brought a tear to my eye. JAMES GUNN PLS WATCH THIS!!!!!
How about Jack Quaid for Jimmy Olsen?
He the voice of Clark Kent in the upcoming “My Adventures With Superman”. That would make him the first person to play both Superman and Jimmy Olsen.
The beginning hurts to watch now
Now that was a fantastic Superman pitch, Troy. Also, mind if I recommend Noah Schnapp or Thomas Mann for the role of Jimmy Olsen?
This video made me read both Up in the Sky and Superman smashes the Klan and I’ll be forever grateful for that.
When I heard Superman’s voice I was like “oh snap is that Aeric from Geeksplained?!”
Hey, I just want to say I love your videos and you are a huge inspiration for someone trying to follow their passion in life, keep up the great work!
As a huge Krypto fan, that post credit scene works perfectly! It's also super wholesome, not only does Clark have a son now; but he also has a dog too!
The world needs this story more than ever now. I really liked it. You absolutely put a lot of thought into this. Great video my guy
I'm back again watching this, and the only thing I have to say is that Lobo is strong enough to fight Superman without a trick. But, it's still awesome and it works well.
Well damn… got me again with that ending! Tears flowing but the message was fantastic.
Nah This is a great Story. It connects perfectly with the dceu and to the more hopeful version superman was developing into. Love the idea of Darkseid scheming in the background like the comics; He's an evil mastermind.
Holy SH*T I'm on the verge of tears again. WHEN will someone hire you to write Superman stories?!
I love this, I want this to be a movie so freaking bad. You are so talented, and I love your work and I look forward to seeing more. Man I wish that this would be the next movie, Warner Bros. should hire you!
I’ve never had UA-cam video give me hope. Thanks troyo
The rock as jimmy Olsen
“The heiarcy of photography is about to change”
Isn't Tomar-Re the guy who was supposed to look after the section of space where Krypton was? That's gotta be super awkward lol
This video completely flipped my perspective on Superman. I have to admit that for a long time I was one of the people who thought Superman was boring because he was too powerful but after this video and more recently My Adventures with Superman, I've really started enjoying the character.
i never knew his backstory or even really what he symbolizes but this video and the clark video made me love him so much
Well THIS video sure did age well, huh fellas??? Am I right???
engagement go brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
Lol
