I am having such a difficult time learning this piece! And your playing really helps me remember the correct tempo, so I can go faster in the future. I’ve only been 8 months in learning the Violin, so I’m definitely growing!
WOW!!!!!!!!! You are doing great if you've only played for 8 months! Make sure you take the time to get your basics down.....don't just move too fast through the songs. Like, make sure your bow hold, posture, form, tone development, ear training, all that stuff are tended to as you learn the songs. Keep up the great work!
I played this when I was 9/10 and am playing the Bach double currently. I am replaying this song for MS Solo and ensemble this Saturday. This video was a huge help! Thank you so much!
im learning this piece just now...for me, its quite hard though to do more than one string at once. i never do that in my last song. this is so helpful for me. although im still doing the slow one.
+Endercraft K23 It sounds like you are taking your time and practicing right. Keep up the great work! Playing 2 strings at a time is tricky, but remember......DO NOT press harder to hit 2 strings. Instead, split the weight EQUALLY on both strings, and you will get nice tone. MOst people try to PRESS to hit both strings, and it makes them crunch.
This one takes lots of time! Bach is difficult to make sound good. Take your time. If you need to work on other things while you polish this Bourree off, do it! Keep up the good work!
Thank you for your high praise, Piano Lady Forreal. TO achieve that flexibility and control at the frog, look at my video with the words "Extreme Frog Exercises". It might say "colle'".....but extreme frog should get you there. Do them for a month....and you WILL experience a huge improvement!
Oh, the nursery rhymes are necessary for us to learn good posture, intonation, and beautiful tone! And it is WORTH THE WAIT! Besides, Book 1 ends with a BIG BANG....have you gotten there yet? The minuets, then Happy Farmer, then the Gossec Gavotte.....wow......all HUGE songs! Good luck!
I'm learning the piece now and I didn't really understand how the double strings were meant to sound in the piece- I can do them just not properly attached to the rest of the piece so this video has really helped!
+Paul Choh Oh, wow, if you have not heard the original CELLO version, you must! Search for "Mischa Maisky" on cello playing this piece.....it will change the way you think of it forever!
That was lovely! :) I was slightly confused though, because there are parts in that song that you play differently from what my music says. Maybe I have the older version of the Suzuki book...
yes, a chord followed by a trill in the same bow is very very tricky! Here's an idea: Try getting it PERFECT with just the trill. Perfect rhythm, perfect notes. Then try getting it perfect with just the chord, and NO trill. THEN I bet with some work, you will be able to do BOTH simultaneously. Give it a try!
Yes, several notes TOTALLY can be played as a gentle brush spiccato....and you are correct, it is speed dependent. If it goes beyond a certain speed, it just makes more sense to brush it. If it stays quite slow, then spiccato will not be a good choice. Thanks for bringing this up.
Thank you so much it's was so helpful for me I finished the 3rd book im gonna Start in the 4th book but first thing can I ask you !! There is some teachers saying Suzuki books not good for teaching !!!! I,m just little piit confuse because I started and I can't change so I wanted to ask you what you think about Suzuki books ?
I think the Suzuki books are WONDERFUL. But I also think it boils down to how good the teacher is. There are wonderful teachers who do NOT use Suzuki, and there are wonderful teachers who DO use Suzuki. Likewise, there are some bad teachers who use Suzuki, and bad teachers who do not use it. So it is not fair to blame the Suzuki Books for bad teaching, and it's also not fair to say that Suzuki is the best or worst way to learn. It's all about the teacher. If you learned through Suzuki, that is part of your musical heritage. Be proud of it! Keep an open mind, learn some of the other ways of learning violin. The more you open your mind, the richer your learning environment will be!
+leone brown Hi Leone. We all have to go slow for a time when we're learning a piece. I do indeed have a slow playalong version. It's part of my Suzuki Book 3 online lessons. You can learn all about it here: www.reddesertviolin.com/suzuki-violin-book-3/
+leone brown So inspired by you, you now at 72 a third year student and i thought i started late (now 51 3rd year student). Starting to play the violin at 48 was the best thing ive ever done. Love every minute of it even though its hard. keep it up
This goes to show that it's never too late, but it's better to start TODAY than TOMORROW! Keep up the great work! You have many years ahead of you to enjoy it!
You have a whole month. So take it ONE LINE at a time, and play only 1 line for like...30 times. Then try playing that line without the music SLOWLY. (don't go full speed.....give your brain a chance to tell the fingers what to do) THe mistake people make is trying to do the WHOLE THING....so the beginning gets memorized....but the middle and end always falls apart. GOOD LUCK!
Red Desert Violin omggggggg I literally have the beginning memorized and the end and the middle part, I always screw up, that’s why my teacher always get so mad at me. I will now try 1 line at a time and play it 30 times. I really hope I can memorize it! I will definitely tell you when I memorized it! Thank you so much ! 💗💞💖🥰
This is the first part of the Unaccompanied Cello Suites by Bach to appear in the Suzuki method. It's also the only one that doesn't create its own accompaniment.
Nice info, thank you, Eunae! I love to learn further about the Suzuki repertoire. I think I know it all, but someone always comes along and teaches me something new.
I'm trying to do the right bowings and fingerings.....I don't want to do something wrong and have someone learn it wrong because of me! (sorry if my vacant stare is disturbing! LOL)
Yes, this Bach is pretty difficult. Just don't be in a hurry, and let the music breathe, and don't feel like you have to hurry in any spots. You'll get it!
I'm learning this peace for solo and ensemble and it's so lovely!!
How did it go? I LOVED solo and ensemble when I was in school!
This brings back memories! This is the piece I played for my very first student orchestra audition.
I am having such a difficult time learning this piece! And your playing really helps me remember the correct tempo, so I can go faster in the future. I’ve only been 8 months in learning the Violin, so I’m definitely growing!

I like how you always keep a grin and show us your fingering!!
I appreciate your feedback, thanks!
C'est magnifique. Dès le matin, je suis comblée ! Bach sera toujours un des maîtres de la musique !
Merci!

ikr! I often practice it to try to get it right.
This one takes lots of time! Bach is difficult to make sound good. Take your time. If you need to work on other things while you polish this Bourree off, do it! Keep up the good work!
I am going to solo and ensemble soon with this piece!
Can't wait for book 3! Book 2 course was fantastic.
I can't wait, either! All the good stuff starts to happen in Book 3! Shifting, Positions, plugging in vibrato, MUSIC!
Love love love your use of portato bows. Also love your bow stroke on the frog. I find it difficult. Wish i had that flexibility.
Thank you for your high praise, Piano Lady Forreal. TO achieve that flexibility and control at the frog, look at my video with the words "Extreme Frog Exercises". It might say "colle'".....but extreme frog should get you there. Do them for a month....and you WILL experience a huge improvement!
thank you so much! I'm learning this piece for a lesson and it's so helpful to hear what it's supposed to sound like
I love it when my students listen to recordings to help them prepare their new pieces. It saves HOURS. Good work!
Beautiful! I'm still in book 1 as an adult beginner. Looking forward to getting to play the good stuff and not just nursery rhymes!
Good luck!
@@RedDesertViolin that's great motivation! I'm at O Come Little Children.
Very nice playing.
Beautiful, one of my favorites from the 3rd suite❤️
Yes, it's a great piece! And violinists should be acquainted with the original instrumentation. Glad you like it!
this is really helpful! i'm 23 and i'm finishing book 3, you play amazing! Cheers from Argentina!
Congrats on finishing Book 3! You will LOVE Book 4....it my favorite of all 10 books!

Have fun! I bet you will do very well. You obviously are doing your diligent practice! Good luck!
I'm learning the piece now and I didn't really understand how the double strings were meant to sound in the piece- I can do them just not properly attached to the rest of the piece so this video has really helped!
Yep, sometimes all we need is to SEE it done! Glad it helped!
Very nice!
Brilliant! I love it so much and it really helped me a lot.
+Christina Zhao Wonderful!
Doing this for Classical guitar and found this Violin version of the piece. Pretty different! But great performance!
+Paul Choh Oh, wow, if you have not heard the original CELLO version, you must! Search for "Mischa Maisky" on cello playing this piece.....it will change the way you think of it forever!

pre-2008 revi- oh this comment was from 5 years ago lol
I'm still having trouble on how to play that one part at 0:37 :(

Simplesmente maravilhoso! Obrigado, professora!
+Jonas Volpe Thank you for watching! I hope it helps!
Jonas Volpe epa você fala português também?
Sim, amigo! Eu sou brasileiro e você?
Jonas Volpe sim!
There are several notes in staccato, in the first part, that should (or not?) be played in spicato because they’re fast?

I love your channel and your videos!
Thank you, kaducarrasco!

Thank you very much!
Muito bom parabéns
:-)
I'm a little confused with these sharp symbols. Is it saying high 3 finger or normal 3 finger?
A "#" sign on a 3rd finger will be high 3.
Red Desert Violin thank you!
this one is still a bit fast for me, but i'm getting there!
Its been four years hows it going
@@juanoros1601 probably haven't played it in about four years
Thanks a lot

I'm gonna play this piece this coming Tuesday. Can't calm my nerves. Hope they don't get in my way.
Rakko Wakko So Rakko......how did it go?!
Red Desert Violin It went phenomenal, definitely one of those moments I would recall when I'm down.
Rakko Wakko GOOD!!! ( I take it you mean a "good" down, as in "you got down and boogied"!!!) Congrats
WOW Good
Thank you! :-)

I just needed to know the sound of this
Hope the video helped!
Yes I agree one of the easiest ways for me to learn a piece is to just listen to it over and over
Thanks
Hope it helped!
Ahhhhhh don't you just love bach
I'm trying to understand because I don't have an ear for English, I wanted subtitles to better accompany. Help an intermediary Brazilian on the violin
I am sorry! I am hoping to get translations soon!
I play this piece too and it's cool because I can listen to play better
Yay! Keep up the good work!
Doing this for Solo fest at my school. By doing I'll get an automatic 100 on my playing test.
Hope the test went well! Keep up the good work!

Yang Wang, have you tackled the Bourree yet? (yes, it is very tough) Keep up the good work! Congrats!
formidável
Not at all! If you take it one skill at a time, it becomes easy.....with practice!
