"About the same" in the context of getting eyes checked (at least for me) means the different slides were virtually the same so I'd see whatever image with equal blurriness or equal clarity for whichever eye she was testing. For example, if my left eye was being tested and she used slide 1 and slide 2 for me to look through to see a picture of a house, but it was equally blurry (or I suppose equally clear) then I would say, "About the same." Does that make sense? (Being completely genuine, I'm just not sure if that makes a lot of sense.)

Yep, and then they gaslight you that the only reason "you just aren't getting used to your glasses" is "because you refuse to wear them long enough to let your eyes adjust". I tried, really really hard, after six weeks I was able to wear them a whole 10 minutes before I wanted to throw them at a wall. And then I'd have to go lay down for 15 minutes with my eyes shut so I'd only be slightly dizzy throughout the day. On top of that my depth perception was gone, like taking half a step full force into a wall I thought was several steps away, everything warped like crazy with the slightest movement, they forced me to be cross-eyed, gave me a headache from being cross-eyed..... They finally relented to redo the exam, and "weakened the prescription because you just can't figure out how to adjust". Yeah, or my axes switched from 170/15 to 180/180, I think the first pair sucked because they screwed up. It's now also so weak I forget to wear them if I take them off.
