      @@maliciouspig8494 Agreed, but lets not fool ourselves that we would see exactly the same from a Scottish crowd, German crowd, or American crowd. Maybe also the Dutch, but a small chance not. They wanted a world first, and so they tried to distract the opposition to make their chosen outcome happen. We see that on the tour in every country. The home player gets treated like gold and the foreigner gets treated like shit. Happens every single tournament in Germany, most notably. That said, I hate to see it and condem it totally, but lets be clear this isn't an English trait, its the trash minority of darts fans.

      There's 1 - 20 around the board, a Double and triple on each, 25 for outer bull circle and 50 for bull. 3 darts are thrown each time and there are a limited amount of combinations you can hit.... Basically, With time, You learn how to add up all the possible combinations (some much easier than others) and then work out what's left to hit out of your countdown of 501 each time and remember that you can only finish on a double. It sounds complicated and you can come unstuck (even seasoned players sometimes do), But it's a closed circuit of numbers to deal with and you''ll get the hang eventually.

    This was a great moment for her and she's getting on with her career but the PDC can't keep milking this one event forever. They need Lisa Ashton to get over the line or Fallon to do something else in a TV event. Fallon is capable but not consistently in higher averages to suggest she'll break through for now, she's just working on getting better but the constant hype is a bit early for her. So it should be Lisa's job to do something this year. Shame the current situation has stopped Suzuki being as involved, would like to see her, Yukie Sakaguchi and an improving Corine Hammond go places. Would also be nice to see Ted kick on, very good player.

      @@SzumKavallier still stands! Fallon did great in a Masters event and is in the Grand Slam through the Women's Series but still needs to kick on more often. I really hope she does, my point was the constant hype every time she does anything just puts more pressure and expectation when she's still a developing player. I was thinking today about MvG in a similar situation (since he beat Fallon in that final), he had so much hype back in 2007 and then spent years suffering from poor form, losing close games and not making progress. It wasn't until 2012 that he came through properly after years of overhyping and excess pressure. We don't know when Fallon's real time will come, but I think it might be better for her if people chilled out and let her find that consistency. By the time MvG found it he'd been written off by a lot of people and the hype had moved elsewhere. Anyway, pleased Fallon has had more success and she might do well at the Grand Slam.

    • @stevewhodrinkstea2698
      @stevewhodrinkstea2698 10 місяців тому +1

      @@stuffwithsoph8264 Yes. But the "she hit a 9-darter, see?" tone of your comment indicates you probably didn't read everything I wrote in my previous comments anyway. I have said I would like her to do well but not have Sky and the PDC go massively over the top when she does anything good, piling pressure and expectation for her to need to be at top level all the time instead of being allowed to develop on her own timeline. I even compared her situation to MvG's when he first came through as a young talent. Plenty of other examples of young or 'new' main tour players getting overhyped and suffering for it. Some find their feet eventually (Michael Smith would be another good example) and many don't.
      I'd like Fallon to make it, but I don't think the media bandwagon helps her game. A couple of 9-darters don't change that. Many, many players on the tour nowadays are capable of hitting a 9-darter, or averaging 100+ over a short format. She's one of them. The top players who win do that consistently for whole tournaments over longer formats. She's not one of them.
      Consistency is what she lacks right now. She hit a 9-darter in either May or June in a PDC floor event that wasn't filmed. She hit another last month on the Modus tour. Great achievements. In between those I went to Blackpool and saw her defend her Women's World Matchplay title. She lost first match to Lisa Ashton and averaged about 70. That's the inconsistency I'm talking about. And at that event of course Sky were all over her going into that match.
      Cut out the inconsistency and she could do well. Media letting her get on with it instead of overhype to the point of simping might help. Beau Greaves is being left alone to get on with things and it seems to be working out for her.
