      Ofcourse it has a light&sound kit, it's the ecto, wheeeeooooow! I just made the video short after I got the ECTO for christmas and before I got the light kit for birthday. I am even giving a discount code for the kit i use by now. I was able to hear the annoying sound of powered up motors in the 21323. But! That motor „piep“ in 10274 is nearly the original ECTO siren 😉

    WOW DUDE - GREAT VIDEO. Covid during Canadian winter has been long, dark and boring. I have been putting this kit together, helping someone who isn't capable on their own and I have really enjoyed building this. There is also one guy on rebrickable called Linse. He has deAfterlifed the ECTO, meaning changed to look more like 1984. Including the thing with the 4 proton packs, telephone handle, etc. take a look, I think its pretty well done too.

    • @recklessglitch
      @recklessglitch  2 роки тому

      Its not so simple as with power functions, since you cannot stack the plugs in any way and both ports of the hub are used. The smallest solution would be to take off some insulation of the 2 center wires of the powered up cable of one of the motors. They should carry the power and ground. Then connect a tiny step down converter, put it on 6V and behind that put your LED power cable.

    • @RassbaRC

      @@recklessglitch Thank you for your answer but in fact I used a micro powerbank that I manage to hide next to the engine under the car. If you want to do even better for the wiring of the light kit you have to order 50cm connection cables and after that you can't see any cables even inside. Thanks again for all you do!

    This looks great! Thinking of trying it out, but I want to avoid dealing with constant battery swaps. Considering the BuWizz 3.0, like you used in the Delorean, for a more permanent charge solution. How easy is it to replace the powered-up hub with the BuWizz 3.0 in the Ecto-1? Also, I've got the Game of Bricks light and sound kit in mind. Already got your instructions - any thoughts on adding the BuWizz 3.0 to the Ecto-1? Cheers!

    • @recklessglitch
      @recklessglitch  7 місяців тому +1

      This question has been asked on rebrickable before and I actually have a buwizz (used it for the DeLorean) and it's great. Unfortunately it is one stud longer and has the sockets on top, so it would be quite difficult to build it into the same place (under the front seat bench) You would need to put it in upside down and change the base frame, to make space for the buwizz.
      BUT: honsestly, changing the batteries (use rechargable, also see my delorean video for the reason) is very quick. I leave the LEGO hub open, so I just pull them out and back in as I showed in this video. Besides, you dont have the problem of an internal battery going bad after some time.

    Hey man, just curious, did you consider to use
    Medium Linear Motor (88008) since it does have position sensor and it should work just fine with this small technic hub? It only have 4 pin connections near the motor shaft, though. Dimensions of this motor are 4 x 6 x 3 studs. There's also a Small Angular Motor (45607), but it's still new/rare and I can't confirm if it works with technic hubs at all, even with third-party apps, such as controlz and brick controller 2.

    • @recklessglitch
      @recklessglitch  2 роки тому

      Sure I considered it, I checked most of the current motors as drive and steering motor. The 88008 is big and white. You'd see it as steering motor in the car right away. Didn't like that idea. The L motor looks much better, since it's dark as the floor and slim.
      But you can use the 88008 as the drive motor. I have included some images how to fit it in instead of the M-Motor in my instructions.

    Hi, I modified my ECTO, but after the programming link on the phone, the motor on the front of the ECTO keeps rotating and cannot control the steering. The rear motor that controls the forward and backward movement can operate normally. Is there a problem with the programming part?

      I answered on rebrickable, check it out.

    • @recklessglitch
      @recklessglitch  3 роки тому +1

      If it keeps rotating it means its not attached. The programming is asuming a steering mechanism and first thing it tries to find its boundaries in each direction, the steering limits.
      If nothing is attached that restricts the motors movement (as in son phams video) it will just spin forever. Build it in and test again please. Or block the motor manually for testing.

      auf rebrickable direkt im Inventar hab ich nur die Extra Teile eingestellt und du kannst einen ungefähren preis sehen. Wenn du gehofft hattest, für den Umbau mit nem zwanni wegzukommen, muss ich dich enttäuschen, aber ein Fuffi für den kompletten Umbau ist bei LEGO eigentlich echt kein Drama (insbesondere da der Ecto das 3-4 fache kostet) mal abgesehen von dem 15% Gutschein für das LED Licht Set bei meiner Anleitung.
      Wenn du noch etwas sparen möchtest (hab ich auch bei rebrickable geschrieben):
      Die medium Motoren sind inzwischen schon wieder vom Markt und daher etwas teurer, aber du kannst auch:
      A) ein gebrauchtes LEGO 76112 App Controlled Batmobile kaufen, das hat den M-Motor UND den Hub dabei
      oder B) (Hinweise bei der Bauanleitung dabei) statt des Medium-Motors den 88008 medium linear Motor nehmen und noch 5€ sparen

      Jetzt raff ich das erst, du hast meine Teileiste mit der vom Ecto verglichen und die differenz bepreist? Du Blindpese ;) der Ecto hat über 2000 Teile, in meiner Liste sind aber nur ca 100, damit hast du quasi den Ecto in Einzelteilen bepreist :D:D:D Ist dir das nicht aufgefallen? Also, nochmal von Vorn: In meinem Inventar auf rebrickable sind ca 100 Teile, die braucht man noch zusätzlich zum Ecto um den zu motorisieren, mehr nicht ;) easy peasy

      I am not sure you understood it correctly, mate, but wahtever:
      There is a link below the video, that goes to rebrickable. on that page look for the INVENTORY button. It will show you a list of all bricks needed including the 3 powered up devices. On the same page you can get the instructions how to actually build this.

      @@scappellos Obviously you need more then 3 LEGO bricks to make the conversion: All in all about 100 LEGO parts including 2 different LEGO motors and a 1 LEGO Powered up hub. just click here for details: rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-64578/ then click on inventory for the parts. @@scappellos That's exactly the point of my instructions. See, anyone can put a couple of motors into a LEGO set of that size to make it drive. The difficulties is to hide it away and make it look like before. I loved the ECTO since i was a child. That's why I put a month of work into modifying it. And then another one into instructions on rebrickable and the video for you guys. And by the way, my version is about double as fast as the one in the video you mentioned.
