@@mattyj2436 so basically my grandfather used to coach basketball at UGA, so we knew some people in the media department. But i know the internship was posted through the school and available to students in the journalism school
Quick insight of my own if I may. The ones that were mentioned, especially Clemson and App St are by far two of the best in the nation at this point. Something I would recommend to up and coming sports videographer is, seek out colleges or university close by that may be looking for videographers, photographers or anyone who may be in a similar field. This in fact is what I have done with my school. Since my school did not have much of a team started, I was able to experiment to where I not only was able to learn and perfect my craft but also provide media, and not just videography, to my school which had not had it very much before. I can say for a fact it has driven our recruiting levels and brand awareness through the roof. Would love to share more!
hey, did you charge at first because i feel like i have to go in for free at first i have a nearby football committie who have bad quality stufff online and im planning on going to my brothers practice and start filming what you suggest

I love this! I’ve been a sports photojournalist in local television since 1993. I studied Broadcast journalism but it didn’t help me one bit. Got on at a local station and starting shooting high school sports and I was hooked. If there’s an event in America, I’ve probably covered it. Currently, I work in the Dallas market and cover everything from the Cowboys to high school sports and I have to say, coming to this channel has been inspiring to see what you young cats are doing. It keeps me on my game, so to speak! Best job in the world! Thanks E!

What about for people from another country like me? I'm from Mexico and u would love to work for the NFL as a videographer someday, but I don't know if I could have the same opportunities
You need to build a strong portfolio by working with teams in your area. Work with local football teams as much as possible. But eventually you’ll also need to move to America on a visa that allows you to work over there. That’s also complicated in itself.
@@BeyondTheGame_E I already have a good portfolio, the hardest thing will be the visa, I have the tourist visa but not the one that allows me to work there, I think the company need to sponsor me that
Yeah that’s tricky because there’s no real incentive for an NFL team to sponsor you. You might have to work somewhere else first and eventually get in the NFL once your visa situation is in order.
Hey E, I am also from Canada and I am in Grade 11 and I feel this is something I want to go to school for. If you could let me know some things such as what school you went to and if you know any good schools for this in Canada that would be amazing.
Being from Montreal, I went to CEGEP (Cégep du Vieux-Montréal) and did a 3-year program in audio-visual studies. That was a loooong time ago so there's probably a lot more options these days. If you really want to do videography that will be dedicated to sports, I would recommend that the school you go to has a lot of sport teams that you could get involved with to get a great portfolio going as you study.

I could be wrong but I think that sport media programs are typically focused on journalism, PR and marketing. Not so much on videography. So if that’s the case, it could be a very good option but it would need to be complimented by a similar internship to the one Pete did.
Yeah they are great. School thought me all the theory but it's really by working with people more experienced than myself (and asking questions) that I learned how to properly edit videos in the most effective way.
