The first song claps! This DVD was my jam back in high school and it’s nice someone was able to share it here on UA-cam. To me this is the standard of a good sound Jazz Trio.
This is one of my all time favourite bands. In my humble opinion they are a most underated jazz group and deserve to be recognised as one of the great piano trios. John Taylor was such a unique and beautiful pianist/composer. If you haven't already, check out their albums. God bless.
The forms they use are perfect in that it all sounds made up in the moment. Purposeful music is really beautiful here. Masters of great sound on their instruments. Three playing as one.

That is one of the most beautiful-sounding pianos I have ever heard, in no small part due to John Taylor's beautiful touch.
I first heard John Taylor on the recordings he made with Jan Garbarek. He remains one of my very favourite pianists.

I saw this marvellous trio in Leeds, UK, back in 1993 so for me this wonderful concert in Salzau brings back some happy memories-thank you so much!
