Which product fail do you think is the most shocking?
New Coke.
The Atari Jaguar
Why Segway😞😞
The Fushigi ball
remember AYDS pills for weight loss?
I was one of the suckers who invested heavily in HD DVD..I said " No one will ever buy something that sounds as stupid as Blu-Ray".. me so smart.
Console yourself by thinking of people who invested in laserdisc technology!
@@siasti I'd forgotten about that. It was extremely expensive, had a limited selection of titles, and the storage took up a lot of space. Personally, I buy DVD movies, which have a wider selection, particularly of old titles (my library has a lot of movies from the '30s through the '60s not found on Blu-ray), and play them on a Blu-ray player, giving me better picture quality than the DVD players. Stay safe.
Andrew Sells Blu-Rays are owned by Sony. You won't be able to have a lot of shows or movies on Blu-ray. DVDs, Laserdiscs, and tapes might be the best because of extra content.
You chose what would have been the popular option. No one would have predicted video games beating porn
@@westyskp9691 Sounds like a winner to me!
The Segway fact about the company owner going off a cliff on his Segway is too ironic and epic. 🤪😱
Same.. should be higher on the list
*I remember hearing about this one from GMM years back...*
You can't buy worse advertising than this. And that was originally said about pictures of Hummers burning in the Iraqi War.
Those emojis don’t match the comment at all
I felt bad laughing about that but... lol....
Google glass failed because it didn't tell you the power level of your enemies.
It would be disappointing because hardly anyone exceeded 100. I heard the lowest one was somewhere currently in the Whitehouse. 🤣
boeingnz you're watching too much Dragon Ball!
Real talk how awesome would something like that be?
IT'S OVER 9000!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What's really hilarious is that Google bought the display technology from IBM. IBM made the optics with the little wearable projection screen but the computer electronics had to be in a box in your pocket because things were still too big. IBM was smart enough to figure out "this is cool but who'd want to wear this thing" and only made some specialized prototypes for the military. (Heads-up displays ended up easier for pilots, so...)They recouped the research costs selling it to google.
If New Coke were being released now instead of the 80's, they would just ignore the complaints, or even blame the consumers for being wrong/misinformed; and then just keep selling it until people just gave up and stopped complaining. 😁
They would just tell the public you're racist if you don't buy it and then their sales would be through the roof
This just shows how society has fallen
Racist consumers.
Where’s Google Stadia?

Wait another year
YES
Wait a few months
They're still pushing it, give it a while, it'll be pushing up daisies.
I miss Clippy. He had some good advice when I was a kid. Always wondered what happened to him.

But we LOVED Clippy. He was so annoying that we actually MISS him!! 😭😰
Google glass was an idea ahead of it's time. I cant wait till technology gets better so we can watch UA-cam videos while working.
I constantly watch youtube videos while working
Well I mean if you are a freelancer you can just work and watch at the Same time
Bad Idea but still good
And it wasn't a total failure in the long run since its technology is used in Google pixel phones' cameras and they are great
They should redo the infamous over 9000 but with Google Glass.
Not good for your eyes 👀
I actually HAD a Zune. It did exactly what was stated--stopped working due to a leap year. Even the computer program in my laptop at the time went belly up.
I never had that problem.
That's, like, bananas, right? I am actually shocked we've figured out everything we have as a species, but dates somehow can kill computers...

I had a Zune too and was SO PROUD. And then apple's big solid state drives came out and blew everything else out of the water. 😕
Woah! Mine was stolen shortly after I graduated. I wonder if they got much use out of it. There's a valuable lesson I learned. You really start to see who people really are after They're moms stop raising them.

'New Coke' _never_ left! Coke lied to us all. They started making changes to save money. Coke switched from real sugar to the cheaper high fructose corn syrup. Look at the label, it still has sugar listed on it BUT it also, has HFC syrup. They _never_ brought back the original. Personally, I remember the taste, it was much better!. Also, at the time, some people had cans of the original Coke saved, there were taste tests, Coke ignored those folks & the complaints slowly died off over time. You are now drinking 'New Coke'. Hope this didn't ruin things for you. Have a nice night anyway. 🥂
How dare you insult Clippy! Clippy was always there for me, and he never failed to brighten my day.
"Nobody wants to be slumming it with a half-frozen, half-overcooked plate of gruel." That made me actually laugh out loud. I don't know why, but it did.
"Which product fail do you think is the most shocking?"
The new Drew Gasparini's album ad that keeps popping up everytime I cick on one of your videos.
Baahahahaha. ... yes !
I think Microsoft Bob might be really helpful to elderly people trying to use the computer. Especially now that we have more processing power
i liked the Arch Deluxe, but it went "McByeBye" 😂😂😂😂😂
The colored ketchup I actually miss. My school used the green one during green eggs and ham day.
When McDonald’s Arch Deluxe was launched in 1996, they promoted it by putting coupons for a free burger in national magazines. After getting a few of them in my existing subscriptions, I visited several area libraries and collected at least 2 dozen more of them in the periodicals section. I don’t remember ever paying for one before they were discontinued.
Whoa whoa whoa whoa, y'all not about to come at my boy Clippy like that, or Comic Sans for that matter.
Clippy never bothered me at all either. I actually miss him a little.
I remember being super excited to get home from the grocery store and try some green ketchup. I also remember being super disappointed after trying it lol.
Same!
I really liked the arch deluxe!
I'm happy Blu-ray won. I'm not sure it's accurate to say physical movie media is obsolete. Streaming is fun for casual viewing, but physical media is a better way to collect your favourite films, especially if you want to safeguard against companies like Disney releasing edited versions of their films for streaming.
I honestly thought Stadia would be on this list.
when they re-do this list in the next few years they'll be sure to include it, stadia is too recent
There's a whole world outside of video games, Bernard.
Not officially considered a failure yet. Google is still trying to market it in a way that it'll take off eventually.
Bum bum Failiure!
Before watching: Crystal Pepsi!!!
Lets admit it, all of the failures mentioned in comments and video are American failures, not European.
Europe > US
I loved Crystal Pepsi, it was a better version of Sprite. How in the world has Sierra Mist lasted so long, yet the far superior Crystal Pepsi died out so fast?
@@hiflyer000 Crystal Pepsi was a cool idea at the time, but the taste was weird. Like a cross between Pepsi, Sprite, and cough syrup.
The Olestra one was already tested and proven to be just the placebo effect of people thinking that stomach cramps were associated to the Olestra instead of the origins of the cramps coming from eating a massive amount of potato chips in general. I swear, I’ve seen this study being used in psychology exams on more than one occasion.
🤔🕵️🌾🌻
I had a Zune before an iPod and LOVED it. You could customize so many things, add photos, all kinds of stuff. Plus definitely cheaper. The only real reason I switched to the iPod was because iTunes was the superior music player and it made sense to get the compatible device.
I LOVED mine too lol I really liked the radio! I could listen to local talk radio and switch to my music during the commercials ^^
iTunes superior? It locked you out of your device, it charged you without telling you and it stopped you uninstalling it from your system.
Yeah, really superior.
As soon as you said "Zune" my memory went directly for that clip from The Big Bang Theory episode.
Mine went to Guardians of the Galaxy 2.
My mind went to Family Guy when Lois's dad asked Bill Gates if he could program his Zune. Then he says "Oh wait, I have an iPod like the rest of the world" lol
A good ole Arch Deluxe while swigging Crystal Pepsi. I actually liked the Arch Deluxe..... and the McRib!
My guess for #1 was Lawn Darts 😆. I remember trying out the Virtual Boy at my local Blockbuster Video as a kid. I was NOT impressed. So sad that the guy who designed the original Game Boy, which was so successful, ended up losing his job after the disaster that was the Virtual Boy. Nintendo doesn’t often fail, but they did with this.
They should really bring back the original delorean.
I don’t know who owns it anymore so not happening
No one would want to repeat the same mistakes that they made with the DeLorean. I don't even know if there are replicas of them being made. And even the Edsel is more collectable and fetches a higher price.
@@_Abjuranax_ If someone did decide to resurrect the Delorean, they'd have to change the engine and drive line, since the car's major failing was that it was under-powered and overweight, didn't handle like a sports car at all---which is what it was supposed to be. Stay safe.
Could have sworn someone brought the rights, unused cars and parts for Delorean.
A company in Texas owns the DeLorean car they have all the left over parts and will put it together for you
After they brought back “Classic Coke” there was a press conference with the president of Coca-Cola where they asked if this was all just one big gamble of a marketing ploy to try to boost sales of coke (which it did). I remember him answering “absolutely not. We’re not that bright and we’re also not that stupid”.
the Arch deluxe was my favorite. It was great, but strangely marketed as some kind of upscale burger
When there was a war between VHS and Betamax, the latter was definitely better, but the former won out. I never jump on new tech until the the battle ends and the dust settles. It just never fails, if you adopt early, you are just more likely to regret it.
Here’s what Watchmojo taught me. DON’T EVER branch out with your products.
Right? Seems like the business principle certain corporations like Blockbuster and Tower Records operated by. (It's insane that these mammoth entities got replaced by Netflix and iTunes.)
Colgate should have known. I mean HEARING "Colgate foods" just makes my teeth curl away from my lips.

@Nadia Blue i've liked ketchup eversince i was born, i remember a couple of years of my life with a green ketchup bottle, and it tased like regular ketchup, it just had green food colorant
@Nadia Blue it was like ketchup, but oddly unappetizing, somehow
And I'm a long-time ketchup nut
I don't think it was kids. Im pretty sure it was the adults who found it too weird
@trainguy456 i remember it. It did taste like regular ketchup but the brain is an odd thing. I think just the coloring made it unappealing because we're so used to ketchup being red. It's almost like our brains were saying "that's not right" lol
I'm surprised the Wii U wasn't on this list
Kim Hanscom What the hell was wrong with the Wii U I thought it was ok at least it could play Netflix and could send messages unlike the Switch.
That frontier internet took a week to finally upload.

Always ended up at the wrong house anyway. 😂
Apple you low hanging fruit!

I loved my Zune, even it was bulky. But yeah, it hit a point where skipping a few songs would drain it's battery to half. Took me years to find a replacement

I miss my old Palm Pilot... I used that thing for all its worth. I loaded tons of medical equations and formulas that got me through my first few years as a green respiratory therapist starting out in a major pediatric hospital that served multiple states! 20+ years later and I still have it in my sock drawer! 😂 Ahh, the good old days...
I was around 8 when the Virtual Boy launched and I can remember playing it at the store. Being a pretty big tech geek, there are few video games I would turn down at the time, but even I didn't want one. Playing it for ten minutes felt like a horror film or something. Something about only seeing red and black was off-putting.
I had no idea about Apple maps.. It works without wifi if you have something preloaded, it has in-time updates with accidents and fastest routes, and it taught me how to navigate the Paris metro. 10/10 I recommend
The fact that a Farmers Insurance ad played when the segway incident happened made it funnier

The Zune was so awesome. Mine worked well, I used it as a portable movie player that could hook to TVs with an RCA cable on top of the music player. I still regret selling it on Craigslist.
You forgot the CED Video Disc System. It bankrupted RCA.
I got a laugh out of the HD-DVD clips with Christopha
I’ve been using apple maps since like 2017 when I actually started going places I didn’t know lol. It probably sucked before that but I’ve always preferred it. I guess I’ve just always had bad luck with google maps, don’t even have it on my phone any more.

I loved the Arch Deluxe, and would still buy it if they would just bring it back...
part of the problem I saw with it's sales was the sales people discouraging it's sales. More than one location the salesperson tried to warn me away from it because it was "too spicy for a kid" (I was 8) and it's like.....I know what I want, let me buy my sandwich!

In regards to #19 Apple Maps....I used to work at a fast food restaurant and got chewed out by a customer because Apple Maps showed the restaurant on the wrong street. It was around the corner, just five buildings down between the map and physical location.

@@trintonsauvola3081 In Europe they still use real sugar and it's SO much better.
They certainly took advantage of the timing, but they did it to compete with Pepsi. At the time Pepsi was more popular and focus groups liked the sweeter taste Pepsi had. When Coke’s sales started taking and the markets reaction was negative they decided to go back to the “original” formula. That’s where you have a point. They just took advantage of their fail and their sales went back up.
