    I'm stupid excited for this concept. Being able to look around as if you are there makes it more of a VR experience than a FPV!! Gotta do this to my rc tanks, helicopters, trail rigs!! Well done, and thanks for sharing how easy it was to do!! That it survived bashing... Unreal! Excellent video!

    • @DoRC
      @DoRC  Місяць тому +1

      Yeah I can't guarantee it would survive all bashing but I'm honestly very surprised it held up to what I put it through. I was kind of expecting to either grind to a halt after the first taste of sand or break on the first big crash but it didn't do either one of those things. I'm impressed!

      @@DoRCDid you get a headache from using the fpv? Or does it have a wide angle lens, along with the stabilization?
      I had an fpv goggles that did so, but I think its because the lens on the camera wasnt a wide angle lens (idk if thats the solution), so whenever the rc turned even slightly, its a completely new image that doesnt slowly prepare you for that new image (so if you turned frequently, u get headache).

    • @DoRC
      @DoRC  Місяць тому

      @@lyricofwise6894 The images fairly wide angle though some people do just get headaches and disorientation from FPV. Not only do the lenses in the goggles trick your brain into seeing an image in a different way than it actually is but your eyes seeing motion without your ears feeling it really messes with your mind. This can be exacerbated if you need corrective lenses and the goggles can't accommodate that or your IPD isn't set right. These particular goggles use really large lenses so IPD adjustment isn't necessary but with a lot of goggles it is. You can also get a headache if the goggles aren't on your head correctly.

      Crawling speed looks way different than 200mph. The link latency would be an issue. By the time you see something happening or about to happen it has already happened.

    • @DoRC
      @DoRC  Місяць тому +4

    • @echo-hotel
      @echo-hotel Місяць тому

      @@webreakforsquirrel4201there is no one racing at 200mph. Well on the ground anyway. This one I think is around 22ms latency which is plenty for mostly high speed drones. At 12km or so!

    • @stumbl35

      Use HDZero, or analog. No latency issues on those systems, folks use those for fpv racing (the pros are absolute rippers, handling with precision at mind melting speeds). There have been plenty of people that have done FPV and even head tracking FPV but until now all the solutions have been either homemade or pretty clunky and none of them as far as I know have camera stabilization. One of the biggest problems with surface FPV is how bouncy the images because the car is bouncing all over the place.
      This system allows you to buy the hardware then just stick it in a car and go. I think that's the first time That type of solution has been available that actually works.

    I've been attempting various ways to do this since VHS was popular...to make smooth video you need your favorite car/truck that has the BEST SUSPENSION and super light oil in the suspension so it can track well (skip the jumps with light oil inside). Today we can add cameras that have decent anti-shake built in too to make videos that are virtually perfect like a drone.

      I completely agree. I honestly wasn't even thinking about that when I first installed it but it really is the game-changing feature of this system. The head tracking's great but the stability is what makes this work where all other surface FPV has just been a novelty in the past.

    I don't have an HD vtx or goggles but I have used an analog set on a Tpyhon Grom and it was amazing. Mounted the camera where the wing is screwed on and it was almost like a racing game. Fairly cheap to get into, 100 dollar goggles and the all in one camera/vtx/antenna combo for around 30. Just need a battery for it or hook right up to the grom battery, not too hard to do. The hard-mounting definitely has its downsides however, but putting a gimbal on top of a basher scares me haha. I will definitely have a setup for my crawler though, that seems like too much fun.
