    Getting real tech here. Like it! Think about using window tint to help with the glare inside the control station. It does make a difference. Wireless mic is working great. Another high tech upgrade.

    The theory behind pausing between cranks on the engine is to allow the heat from compression to soak into the cylinders instead of blowing it out with fresh cold air. It does seem to help with cold starts when you don't have starting fluid. Have a good one.

    I like the truck bed, and love the saw marks on that lumber, never ran a laser on a Band Saw Mill, but we are pretty good about not wasting wood, don't mine taken an extra cut and edging the board even if is smaller than the ones we are cutting, we get a lot of calls for board and batten, 6 and 8 wide with 2 to 4" battens, wood is money and hate to waste either one. I could not see the Laser in the Vid, but once you move it, like you did should be great, Thanks again to Louie for the Flag, see you-al later.

    Hey Mark, i just found your channel. Love your mill set up. I’ve sawed with a S&W 30hp electric over hydraulic band mill for 20+ yrs. in ne ala. I’ve cut mostly SYP but also every hard wood species that grows in this neck of the woods. I’ve recently re-plumbed all the hydraulic lines and rebuilt several cylinders on the mill. It saws as good or better than when I got it 20+ years ago. I love the laser and have often thought I’d like to adapt one to the band mill head.
    PS “Little slivers” wedging and sticking saw blades in wild grain/knots I thought were only a problem on band mills! LOL

    Buy a cheap rotary table for milling machines and mount the laser on that. It will allow you to make minute changes in the angle and aligning to the cut line should be easy. There is already a lateral adjustment on the laser mount, so that shouldn't be an issue.

  • @jamesshanks2614
    @jamesshanks2614 4 роки тому

    When you crank in cold weather and the engine doesn't start it still compressing the air it sucks in. Compressing the air raises the temperature of each cylinder so when after 20 seconds or cranking you stop cranking for no more than 2 seconds then start cranking again and it will start but will run rough until it warms up then smooths out. Major advantage of a Diesel engine.
    I used to own a VW Rabbit Diesel I bought used with two burned out glow plugs, even at 35 below zero it would crank a bit longer but always started. Though I have to admit if I could park on a hill in cold weather select second gear step on the clutch and once you got to 15-20 mph crank the engine and pop the clutch and while it was rough running it would start easily.

    Nice operation. If only I had partial capabilities to cut lumber, seeing so much wood going to waste when people cut down trees and it goes to the landfill... Pine is one sad thing, but the hard woods is entirely a different issue with waste in the landfill.

    I guess I am going to have to slack of on the vodka, bourbon, scotch and mad dog 20/20 as I can't see no line on the stuff your cutting but then I ain't sawing... course I quit drinking back in the nineties cause a couple a plumb scared to death Rotienwillers that were just barely puppies that didn't have enough hide to keep one warm so I put them on my bunk and spoon fed them till they had strength enough to feed themselves. They were just pitiful so i seen one crawling to some cardboard so i moved it up for him and he messed on it then it looked like he was worried he might a went in wrong spot but I praised him and he showed the other one which she got on and went. then I give them a light cloth towel bath with plenty of drying off. This went on for almost the third day as their little legs were so weak. I stayed with them and kept water in front of them an I was getting sleepy. I nodded off and when I woke up they had crawled up on my pants leg together and they were sound asleep so I made me a vow to never leave them alone again. Later I found out who the guy was that dumped them and the pups recognised them and were standing stiff legged just waiting for me to to say ok but I put them in my truck and confronted them/him. His wife and kids were with him so I asked him why he got rid of them and he kinda laughed it off saying he always got rid of runts and then he made a mistake with me. he said they make good coyote bait. I lost it and I am sorry I did but I just laid that dick head out cold as a steel wedge. His wife calling me names and his kids looked at me like a monster so I whistled and my dogs came running up and stood by me and my big boy just lifted his leg and pissed on him! Lady was fidgeting and I asked that lady who was with the guy on the floor; they look like runts and she screams you stole our dogs! Owner of the store had called the cops. Cops get there and the store owner says this prick laying on my floor buys sweepings and cheapest food I have. This man here asked this lady politely and she starts screaming at him. By the way these dogs are well mannered and have been here before and he told Tramp to go get his dog food so he barked and Lady followed him and they come dragging the right food okay. Then the cop interviended. He yelled harshly at the boys to jerk their britches down and to show their backsides! He hollers quick or I will put you in jail with Bubba. So they did shyly and yep there were marks on them so the cop snapped pictures of them. Then told them to pull their clothes up and called for back up on transport. Kids went to a home, Lady and Tramp got picture in paper, the parents lost all their animals and were placed in jail on a multitude of charges.... me, I got free dog food as long as one of the dogs was with me like they ever were not?!!
