All the best with your eyes ... I have had both of mine done last decade ... drove my wife crazy on the way home (a 2 hour trip) when I kept saying geez look at the colour of that place amazing ... my world had been muddy brown for so long ... all the best Mark.
Mark thanks for the birth day message ,really aperciate that ,put a extra step to my day :) hearing that , loven your videos ,keep on keeping on, yes from way down south down under :) Australia
I used about 500-550 gals. of diesel fuel weekly and I used than same additive in each and every tank all year long. I too, believed it helped immensely with engine performance....and I still use it in my home lawn equipment. It's worth every penny it cost!
That sure was a gentle roll. The Bus Motor had a belly ache. It is always good to see you and the guys at work. I wish that I was able. B J Thomas had a old song about rain "falling on his head".
I managed a fleet of diesel emergency vehicles. Used "Stabil" in those large tanks for fungus and water control, and Lucas injector cleaner in all vehicles. Also added "Prolong" oil treatment in the oil. I did annual oil sampling to evaluate engine wear. I also ran a filter on coolant lines. Only time I had an issue was after an earthquake shook up the supply fueler's tank. He delivered a hot mess and didnt realize it. Cheers! Good job men. ❤
Loved the video. Did not know there was a difference between a water oak and pen oak . 66 years old and learn something different every day and new. Thanks so much for letting me tag along.
I belive that several states have banned planting new pin oak due to the galls that wasps will form on them. In southern Indiana, folks couldn't cut them down fast enough.
I'm glad to hear the eye is healing well, Mark. That is great. Great news I'm still looking forward to the trip to the property. I'm hoping you get that in there. However, maybe I missed it. I don't know. I don't get to watch you as much as I would like, but it's glad it's good news to to know that you're healing it up. Well, best wishes, my friend.
Hello Mark, Mark and T.H.E. Eddie. Here's a tip for you. Next time you have the opportunity, when the tank is very low install a drain valve at the lowest point possible. I did this when I was building large gen-sets. They would be mounted in semi trailers so it was easy to drain off the sediment and sludge. I'd drain gallon from them every oil change/service. Only trouble I had was my fault, forgot one time. After a 20 pound butt chewing I didn't forget again. Great video
Mystery is the best! I never know what cool book matching I'm gona get till I slice it up! Sometimes a target chunk of wood is unremarkable on the outside, Then when it is resawn, WOW! I love those surprises.
MARK _ You must have got the implants too. Amazing to see them unroll after being slid in as a tube ! They would do only one at a time. Second eye took 2 more years to get "ripe".
I Had Catarac Sugery on both eyes, and it is remarkable on the clarity, However the intensness of colors was outstanding, for instyance Green is really green . My Vision is now 20/20 however i still need readers for reading. Tom
I'm 77, had cataract surgery several years ago. Before the surgery I was nearly blind in the left eye and wore trifocals all the time. After the surgery I don't wear glasses except for close reading and then they are cheap reading glasses. I can shoot a rifle with iron sights something I could only do in my twenties.
Power Service is the best stuff going to use in your fuel. I've been using it since I started working on heavy equipment back in the seventies. It hasn't failed me yet!
I really like the looks of those sheet boards. Nice color and grain definition. It sound like your not very fond of the Pin Oak for some reason. It appeared to me you got quite a good yield out of that log. Both boards and blocking.
😎😎👍👍✝✝mak'n something out of nothing!!!👌👌Had the same fuel problems as you...I was able to "suck out of the top half after adding new fuel but I always had 2 filters on hand and changed them right after re-fueling and had one if needed.
I go with you and Pete with a pin oak and I drawed up every time that bus motor faded down a little. I think we used the same thing you did for fungus and gel in stuff. The pal with the flat belt mill got his fuel in 5 gallon cans and it had to settle a while. YAAY for the eyes! Blessings, Mark!
It was good you explained about the edger. I was wondering how it all worked. Oh and by the way. Here in SD we never complain about rain. We need a good rain really bad.
Glad to hear that the eyes are improving - it takes a while. We had thunderstorms and lots of rain the past week. It's getting noticeably cooler here in the Wye Valley UK.
My fuel dealer we had them put in an treatment for algae before he put it in our tank bet that was 4000 gallons but if we didn’t add it we had to change filters and that was expensive so hopefully the addictive you put in will cure the problem !!! Great job on the video s
Ya'll might want to think about putting a pair of Frantz filters side by side with selection valves, or just one filter, at the tank. The Frantz will take out everything including water. In stead of replacing expensive filters, just replace the roll of toilet tissue and continue sawing.
On the diesel fuel issue. One of my former jobs had fuel issues when they got new fuel. What they did was put a sediment separator between the tank and the filters. Then they ran the fuel low, then closed a shutoff in the line. Got a company in and they dumped kerosene into the tank and uses a pump yo suck the mix and then use it to pressure wash the bottom of the tank and then sucked out all the sludge.on a 500 gallon tank, they got 2 55 gallon drums of sludge mix out of the bottom. Then installed a petcock on the bottom and until I left, Maintainance would drain a few gallons from the bottom and let it settle out, which worked well in keeping the sludge down. In winter we started adding kerosene before adding new fuel, to prevent jelling, which worked, and it helped the sludge issue too.
I'm a retired over the road truck driver, Power Service fuel treatment is good stuff, I remember an 80/20 kerosene diesel winter fuel and several times I've had to run on kerosene due to northern Canadian travel
yeah, pin oak makes better firewood than lumber IMHO. I also use the same additives in all my diesel equipment and trucks. Thanks for the vid. 👍 p.s. get well soon
Mark- If you think you have algae run your tank down and DRAIN it completely and flush it with some clean fuel. If your using a drum get a new clean one. Once you get it in a tank it's near impossible to get rid of cause if there is just a little left it will grow back. You'll never be able to keep the filters clean. I've taken filters out that look like they have hair growing on them with algae. Then make sure to use the regular Power Service YEAR ROUND. That will keep any moisture out of it. Good Luck!
With todays diesel it was good that you put treatment in the tank , the algae you mentioned is a filter killer , im not sure what it does to the oil - but fuel filter and oil filter and coolant filter changes is the best maintenance you can do to keep the motor purring along 👍🇺🇸
i had cataracts so bad i had to stop driving, after the surgery i was amazed by the improvement. had to wait a year for the surgery but results where great
*- There must be some way to drain the fuel tank, flush out the crud.* *- Maybe you could use cheese cloth in a big funnel to to capture most of the cruddy fuel before letting it settle for weeks before returning it to the tank after it is freshly filled.*
Of all the trees in our area. Oak is the least of them. When I was in FFA forestry team (in high school) we went to areas where we can see oaks of all kinds. I really can't tell much difference without leaves. Mechanical issues/fuel issues will pop up. Gotta have anti gel north of the Mason-Dixon Line for sure.
Hi Mark. But. I NEVER seen green bark on " pin oak?" The grain is definitely pin oak. Thanks Mark. Say Hi to Ed, ZZ, & Hank. Have a good Monday evening the 23rd. 🥰😊😉👍❤️💜🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🌳
What we do is after a delivery we let it sit for a couple hrs. before starting equipment. It's pretty effective on 8000 gal. tank. If we don't, we can count on plugged filters.
Add an in line canister fuel filter/water separator before your primary. If your tank is that bad it will save you a ton of headaches and you can see it getting dirty.
I used to have the same problem when I had fuel oil heat at my previous house. Also, my eyes were 20/20 within a couple of days after my cataract surgeries. Bill
I used to work on commercial backup generator sets that also have big fuel tanks and also sit unused for long periods. Most of them had a sediment bowl trap upstream of the filter. Might help? Also, you should maybe look at an oil additive that actually works, called TufOil. Reduces friction which increases effective horsepower and improves fuel usage rate. Holds Guinness Book record for slickest known lubricant. I've used it for a long time with provable results.
I knew what it was before you cut it! lol! Cats eyes all over it! I’ve cut a lot of Pin Oak and had my woods timbered out several times…love the smell of it…lol Just started watching you all and I’m enjoying the videos for sure!!
