- This is a video comparing the M4 carbon slip on exhaust against the stock exhaust. The video includes clips with the DB-killer in and out. The exhaust sounds great in person and is by far the best mod I've done so far on my 2015 FZ-07. The install was simple and only took my Dad and I about an hour and a half. Enjoy.

@@5shifts db killer or decibel killer is just there to reduce the amount of noise the exhaust makes. For someone like me in Europe, there are strict rules to ride with db killers in your exhausts to not disturb other people. Where as in the US and in UK, it doesn’t matter if you have it in or out. It’s up to you if your riding through a residential neighborhood, that you ride without rev bombing and etc. hope that helps

It's only a slip-on yes. The mirrors are just some cheap bar end mirrors from amazon.

Stock exhaust and M4 with baffles in: does a drive by and also does a few loops in the driveway during the drive off video.
M4 with baffles out: no driveby and does an out and back drive while idling the whole time.

I'm not sure what you mean by stage 2 DB killer? Most exhausts only come with a single DB killer insert.
mxryder0458 - Apparently m4 makes 2 baffles. Part Q5, stage 1 comes pre-installed. Part Q4, stage 2, is an additional or more restrictive baffle. See m4exhaust's site for FZ07. www.m4exhaust.com/products/yamaha-fz07-2015-STD.htm

nice, loud even with the DBK in, but im still going for a Akrapovic in Ti, i just dont like the way the pipe sticks out like that
RaisedByWolves You can't go wrong with the Akra, but on the titanium version, I hate how the end cap is shaped, I'd rather have a big exit for the exhaust rather than two smaller ones. The carbon Akra, on the other hand, is beautiful.

The after market exhausts on this thing are incredible. The stock one definitely doesn't do it justice.

+pa7r1ckk Nope!, the tailights are awesome, they look better, they're brighter, and they flash when braking which alerts drivers more. The integrated turnsignals are pretty sweet as well. You may have to install a flasher relay to avoid hyperflashing.
Windshield?
I just installed my m4 on my FZ07, It's louder than I expected but overall it sounds really good. Anyways mine starting to blow white smoke just minutes from the cold start and the engine seems hotter too. Is this normal?
Your bike is running very lean. You should reinsert the baffle and tune the bike before doing any more excessive riding.

Sure sounds loud even with the DB killer in! I just ordered the m4 for my 07, does it get annoying on longer rides or is it fine with the killer in?
Curtis Wilson With the killer in, it's still loud when cruising, but not excessively annoying. I wear earplugs on the highway and that helps a lot as well with exhaust plus wind noise.

King Tuncel DB = decibel. DB killer is like a baffle basically, with it in makes it quieter and less air flow, take it out and it makes it louder and more air flow.

King Tuncel I think most places have a limit to how loud your pipes can be, so just check your local laws, but I've had mine out since the day I bought it without issues. just don't rev bomb it every 2 seconds and you should be fine, just depends on how the police in your area are

Bryan Liu A little, it's because the bike is running a bit lean. Not so much that there is damage, but enough so that it pops on deceleration.
hey guys, i just bought an 2016 FZ-07 and i was wondering if it makes a big difference installing a full system vs a slip on M4 thanks
They'll sound about the same. For a full system, you would also need to install a fuel controller in order to avoid any loss of power. For this slip-on, a fuel controller isn't necessary, but you will have to cut the stock headers before the exhaust can in order to install the M4.

Use and allen key to remove the single bolt on the bottom of the exhaust and then pull the whole DB killer out. Takes less than 5 minutes.

Yeah, the installation isn't hard, just takes some time to get right. Definitely want a steady hand when cutting the header.
Hey man one more question. My exhaust is here and I'm trying to take out this DB killer. I see there is one single bolt inside the exhaust and I removed it but it doesn't seem to be budging

This was my transgender sons first bike, they/them wanted something more girly looking that’s weak and slow to ride in their safe space and the mt07 was the perfect bike!
Idk if you're joking but the MT-07 was my first bike and it was great. Lightweight, with plenty of power.
