I can’t put into words how cool these stories are without you doing this those of us in the middle of the country wouldn’t ever get to hear all this good stuff. Thank you. Keep up the good work.
Such a Great interview. Thank You for all you do to document the history of this amazing time. I miss the good ole days and getting my weekly copy of Winston Cup Scene...
Great interview. His story telling is enjoyable to listen too. Going to look for more from him. BIG #11 DW fan here from waaaaaay back. Lord lord, those good ol days.
Back in the 90s when he worked at Diamond Ridge Motorsport,I wrote him a letter asking why they had let Robert Pressley go. Weeks go by and I received a letter from him explaining what had happened. Helluva guy and smarter than hell with a racecar
"You make your own luck by the decisions you make." - Bill Ingle The classic is "Luck is when preparation meets opportunity", but I like this version. Either way, it's like "Do good, be good and good things will happen". My guilty conscience has served me well. And I've been stepped on while being a nice guy. But, definitely a net positive. And I sleep at night.
I believe some of the stuff about Alan Kulwicki. He had a degree in engineering, and engineers think they know everything. I believe Alan was arrogant and said most of these things, not all, but most. Rusty Wallace was the same way.
He lost his license in the 70s after his Dad died. He went off into deep mourning, which he complicated with alcohol and back road exploits. This was a major reason his 1st wife Kerry's mom hated him until the day he died.
Junior Johnson must have absolutely loved Bill Ingle, because everything about Bill was Junior's kind of guy 🙏 RIP RJjr ✝️

Dale Sr. Was a terrible father, a thief, a drunk driver, and generally all around thug. Mr. Ingle is right. Sr was no fighter.
That’s what’s so funny back in the day nobody gave a shit for that guy…. Total asshole
🤣
i never heard the drunk driving stories, could you please explain.
