You'll also probably need to turn the Live View Display Off when in a studio setting with off-camera flash heads. Your camera settings to get correct flash exposure will usually be to set the camera to Manual mode, about aperture F8, ISO 100 and a sync shutter speed of about 1/160 sec. The studio will probably be reasonably dark too and with the Live View preview ON you'll hardly be able to see the model (or subject) when trying to focus and compose, even with the flash modelling lights on. So turn the Live View to off and you should be able to see properly and take the shot. ........ and another very useful video too Mike. Thank you
Definitely Gordon. I’ve got a video planned for exactly that. 👍 I remember when I first did a headshot shoot with the a7rii years ago. I normally shoot flash photography all in manual and was really confused to start with when the viewfinder was almost pitch-black! It took a while to hunt through the menus and find live view display off option! Then it’s just like shooting with a dslr through the viewfinder. 😁👍
@@mikesphotography I was a little bit confused and felt stuck when I tried shooting studio portraits with a A7III. After a couple of minutes I figured out that I need to turn of the Live View. Even worse was that I only had the camera for a couple of weeks or maybe a month and the menu was overloaded with functions and I struggled to find anything (even though I switched from an older Sony A58 and was somewhat familiar with the menus). Also, what is even cooler, is that when you use Sony flashes (I have a HVL-F60M) it knows that you use a flash and automatically disables Live View when you attach the flash to the camera. When you take it off it enables it back. I absolutely love things like that! 👍

Yes, the Sony 55mm is an amazing little lens and that combined with the a7iii is a great low light combo! Sounds like a great plan investing in good glass.
That’s great Yessika! Focus peaking is great isn’t it!! I have this on whenever I am using my manual focus lenses!! Mirrorless cameras are definitely a game changer when it comes to the photography experience! It makes the process a lot more fun!! 😁 Thanks for watching and commenting, much appreciated 👍
Hi Mike, I had the a7rii and now the a7riii, and I was aware of these settings and used all of them, and your video is very precise and clear! Well done!
Thanks for the feedback and words of encouragement, its great how these cameras are very similar in their layout and setup. How are you finding the Rmkiii compared to the mk ii? I’m so tempted to upgrade my a7rii.
Mike Smith I am really happy that I upgraded. Best features: 1) battery life! So much better. 2) better overall focus behavior and speed resulting in better images. 3) with higher ISO, images look better straight out of camera. 4) dual card slot. 5) Slow motion video (120 fps full HD), although I almost never shoot video. 6) the multi-select button or joystick.
Awesome!so I’ve got the a7iii as well as the a7rii and as soon as I used the 7iii, I immediately wanted to upgrade the 7rii. The small batteries are such a pain. Interesting to note the better iso quality as well. Thanks for all that info....I think a new camera body has just moved to the top of my never ending camera gear shopping list!! 😆
Sorry to encourage you to spend more money ;-). I don't have scientific proof that the image is better at higher iso, but I google'd it, and this comparison concludes that the a7riii is better: sonyalpha.blog/2017/12/09/a7riii-vs-a7rii-iso-testing/
In The Vortex Photography That's ok.....I don't need much encouragement! That's cool, it's probably got a newer brain to process the image more efficiently....or something like that. Any excuse to upgrade and I'll be there!!! 😆
That’s great to know! Glad I’m giving value. 👍 I made on the lines of what I’d want to know as an intermediate photographer just coming over to the mirrorless system.....so I left all the normal settings out and just included what might surprise a dslr shooter. 👍
Another informative video Mike still getting to grips with my A7iii .I now realize you have to set this thing up exactly to your needs and scenario ,otherwise it will bite you in the arse.. Especially when shooting in the pitch black and blind as a bat... Was out tonight and blew most of my shots with over exposure, trying to compensate for Light pollution ETTR .Method.. Not much usable material in post .. Rome wasn't built in a day..
Ah that's annoying when that happens. As long as you've learned from it, that's the main thing. I had an astrophotography night out not so long ago and I had left my camera on jpeg, small images, from a tutorial I was shooting earlier in the day...completely forgot to turn it back to RAW and didn't have a single image I could use for anything but instagram...🤦🏻♂️ The best thing to do when that happens is to go out as soon as possible again to the same scenario and shoot it again with the new knowledge from making a mistake. 👍 Thanks for watching 😁
Hector Pagan my pleasure Hector. I love doing these videos so expect lots more on the a7iii. Is there anything specific you’d like to know about it, or do you have any ideas for a video so you could learn more about the camera?
Ah, ok, I understand. I’ll definitely do a video on that very soon. The face and eye autofocussing systems are great on this camera so it is definitely something I’ll cover. Thanks for the comment. 👍
I upgraded to Sony from hardcore 10 years of using Canon. Your tutorials has helped me a lot to get into speed. Thanks a lot. Please keep the good work on,
I was similar, was a canon shooter for years. It’s a shame they didn’t kept up with Sony and release the eos R, 5 years ago! I found it really hard selling my canons but since biting the bullet, I haven’t looked back. I’m glad my tutorials are helping, lots more to come! 😁👍
Thankyou for the awesome video. Please include other video links that come up within the video in your description. Will help us quickly watch another video of yours and helps you to get more viewers :)
So I've been researching how to get more videos to you guys and I've only just found out you can use hashtags in youtube.....and they come up above the title when watching the video. Check this video out: ua-cam.com/video/TCehnFt6ZV4/v-deo.html The hashtag should be above the title.....It works on both mobile and PC's, so if you click on it, it'll list all my videos. Let me know if this helps and/or if you'd prefer links in the descriptions. Thanks
Thanks for this very helpful video. I've been overwhelmed by the menu settings, and you have mad it easier to understand. One question: My A73 doesn't seem to have the "Eye AF" option. It's certainly not where you indicate it is to be found. Could it be hiding somewhere else? Or Could it be missing entirely? If so, do you have suggestions for what to do? It seems like an important function. Thanks.
Hi Jane, There is a lot to take in with the menus. That is strange...the eye-af should be in the custom button selection options. Try setting your focus mode to af-c and then see if it appears in the custom button lists. Alternatively try doing a factory reset on your camera. You’ll have to set up everything again from scratch, but it should then put it onto the default button which is the middle button on the dpad/dial.
Thanks, Mike. I'll try what you suggest. I'm leaving for a week so I'll be offline, but if you could send me how to accomplish a factory reset for when I get back, I'd really appreciate it. Again, many thanks.
@@mikesphotography I had the same issue with this path - I have to leave soon but when I return I will use the factory resets you mention. I wonder if it is a version thing? What version of the software do you have? Maybe that is what it is? Anyhow I will try reset later. I will let you know what happens.
Hi Wendy, I’m not sure...but there is a new firmware coming out really soon. I’m on firmware 2.0 at the moment. Let me know how you get on with the factory reset if you go down that route.
Hi Biju, If you already have the a7rii, there is only a subtle difference so I wouldn't say the upgrade is worth it for the low light and stabilisation alone. I use my a7iii more for video and I use the a7rii more for photography. If I'm on a photo shoot I definitely find myself reaching more for the A7rii. I hope that helps.
Haha!! They lurk amongst us...I always enjoy a good thumbs down!! 😆 the funny thing is that even a thumbs down is interaction...and UA-cam promotes a video with more interactions whether thumbs up or down! 😁👍 Thanks for watching and commenting Jorge, much appreciated! 👌
Ahhh, the long wait....it takes ages to charge when you watch it!! Like watching a kettle and waiting for it to boil!! 😆 it takes a bit of getting used to the new system but once you’re in you’ll love it!! I’ve got a video coming out next Thursday on exactly how I set mine up for photography, so maybe that’ll come in handy! 👍
@@mikesphotography Great, I've subscribed so i'll watch. Playing thru the menus as it's charging, setting the eye focus as we speak. Love the internet!!!
Hello Mike. I just discovered your video's and I find them very useful. I am about to switch from Canon to a Sony A73. What i'am not sure of is whether to sell my L-lenses or to use an adaptor. I have got the 24-105 f4 L, the 100 mm Macro f2,8 and the 200 mm f2,8. What do you prefer considering I also shoot sports and therefor I would like to use the 10fps with the 200mm lens. I wonder if that works with an adaptor. For adaptors I red about the Metabones and the Sigma adaptor. Witch do you prefer? Like to hear from you. Erik from the Netherlands
Hi Erik, Sorry for the slow response, youtube put your comment in the "held for review" section for some reason... An adaptor would work ok in most situations. when the subject is static it works really well. However, I was shooting the 24 hour endurance race at the Dubai autodrome at the weekend, with an adapted 100-400mm mkii, and the continuous focus didn't keep up in most tracking circumstances. I ended up having to manual focus a lot of the shots and missed a few photographs that a native lens would have captured successfully. Transferring across from one system to another is always a big and scary step but the adapters do allow you to do this slowly and steadily. I'd get the sigma adapter...from what I've seen it's a lot more reliable than the metabones, and about half the price...Then see how you get on with your lenses. If they work, keep them, if they don't swap them out for the sony equivalents. After that event, I'm definitely going to be getting the 100-400mm sony GM! I hope that helps! 👍
Thanks for this. Will be getting my A73 delivered tomorrow, just a quick question with the eye auto focus, do you have to keep the button held down to keep it focused on the eye or is it just one click ?
Excellent!! Welcome to the club!! 😁 You can have it so it is constantly tracking or just when you half press the shutter, or which ever button you assign to focussing if you have back button focussing. Thanks for watching. 👍
@@mikesphotography thanks for the reply, I have set it up to back button focusing. At the moment I have to hold the back button down, same with the eye AF ( I have set this to af-on from your recommendation ) How would I set both these to constantly track without holding the button down ?
If you go into tab 1, page 7/14, and turn pre-AF on, this will keep the camera focussing on the subject...although it is a little laggy. It also need to be in area wide and af-c as well.
Hi Mike - do you have any video/tutorials on hybrid shooting on the sony a7iii at all? I have quite a few questions and wondering if you can help/mentor?
@@mikesphotography Oh thank you! I am shooting manual and exposing for the photo and then when I want video footage I am pressing record on my sony a7iii (I am mainly shooting my fast moving kids!). I find this the easiest way to capture everything rather than flicking between Manual mode to a saved mode with my video settings. Is this the right thing to do?? Whilst I am getting the footage I want, I am struggling with when I do it this way is when it comes to editing the video. I don't use a picture profile as I don't want it to affect my raws. I use the neutral creative profile but am discovering that doesn't really effect the video footage? Is that right? I use imovie to edit my video and so with such a basic program my colour grading capability is limited. I suppose what I want to know is: Me hitting record when I have taken the photo, is fine to do when hybrid shooting. What profile setting should I use so the video footage looks better? I know its a personal aesthetic but after seeing that the gamma in some profiles can affect RAWS I am unsure what to do. Hope that made sense. I am still trying to make sense of it myself....
No worries Louis, I Just bought a generic one off of eBay...it all depends on the make of lens you're going to be using. As the lenses are manual everything, you'll just need a cheap dummy adapter. Do you have any vintage lenses in mind? Thanks for watching!
Just found you, thank you great help. Could I ask a couple of billy basic questions - if I am taking a large group of people outdoors (30ish +) would you use eye focus (which I have set to my AF-ON button) or just the general focus button (now on my job stick!). Also would you have this on wide and AF-C? (think I'm currently on AF-S and M focus. Thank you, bit daunting changing cameras but sure it will be worth it.
Great to hear my videos are helping. Group photography can be quite daunting. In those situations I tend to have a few different setups I can switch to. If shooting individuals within the group, I'll have eye af on. When picking out a single face in the crowd, I'll change to eye af off and then use the flexible square and then move the square to the person I want to focus on. For group shots, I close the aperture down to about f8 if there is enough light, and then focus on the person in the middle of the group, again with flexible spot focussing, to have the best chance to get everyone in focus. Try to reduce the amount of distance between the closest and furthest person in your group as well. This will increase your chances of getting everyone in focus as well. The main thing is to shoot as many photos as possible ... so you warm up nicely, get into the groove and have a lot to work with when editing. I hope that helps. 😁👍
No worries, I hope it helps. I haven't done a tutorial on this yet but portraits are coming later in the year. If you are not shooting with the A9, I'd be very careful with the silent shutter. It does get banding sometimes with some LED lights and this can be a real pain if you can't turn them off. for low lit shows, just try and get the fastest lenses you can afford so your camera has the best chances of getting more light onto the sensor. I hope that helps. 👍
Hi Jana, The best bet is to try it out in some of the conditions you'd be shooting in to see how it copes. You never know, it might work out great for you... Thanks for watching. 👍
@@mikesphotography the problem is that conditions are going to be constantly changing and that's not my call to make. I bought it to shoot stills for TV and film
Hi Mike Thanks for the heads up on the Eye AF and also the back button focus in a previous video, is any settings you could do for sport photography as you explain things so well. keep up the good work.
Thanks Clive, I’m hopefully going to do a video on shooting sports soon. I’d say use the speed drive mode, a fast big sd card, have the focussing in af-c and the track focus area mode. Does that make sense?
No worries, thanks for watching Martyn. With some of them it does but I’m not with my camera at the moment so I can’t tell you which ones. It’s always good to be shooting in one of those modes for photography anyway, to give you lots of control over the images you get. 😁👍
Hey Mike! When i set up the Eye-AF like you, will it change automatically to the wide focus area mode and AF-C? Or do i have to switch to AF-C first when im in AF-S?
Nate's Film Tutorials thanks man! I used to use the gh4, it’s still a solid camera and a pleasure to use. The a7iii is definitely awesome! I went out last night to do some astrophotography and found some amazing locations near me with fantastic dark skies! The a7iii definitely took it all in it’s stride!! Thanks for the comment dude. 👍
I came from the GH5 to the A7iii and haven't looked back. You lose much in video tools but overall i think the video and photo quality is so much better. Full frame is a huge difference i think.
Most defintiely. I've used the gh4's on some multicam projects and they are great cameras. I haven't used the gh5 but on paper it looks like a formidable upgrade....but your right, I haven't looked back either once I came across to the sony cameras.
I really like your tips I just got this camera it's got loads of features. I've subbed to you. I hope I can learn from you how to master the camera for photo and video. Look forward to make even more epic videos for my channel and photos !
Thanks so much Patrick, there’s a lot to learn isn’t there!! The best thing is to just get out and shoot as much as possible...maybe watch a video on a technique and then go out and try it for yourself...👍 Thanks so much for subscribing! Lots more to come through the year. 😁👍
Thank you very much for the time you've spent in making such a useful and well mare video.I'm thinking to upgrade my old GH3 to che A7 iii and your videos are really full of well explained info.
You’re welcome Paolo! I really enjoy making these so there are lots more to come!! You’d see a big difference between the gh3 and the a7iii. The Sony menu system takes a bit of getting used to but once you get your head around it, you’ll love it! 👍
Thanks. 👍 I’ve started putting cheat sheets in some of my more recent videos and tutorials so you can pause and screengrab when there’s a lot of information to be had. Thanks for watching. 👍
Hey Mike love your video tips, question setting up custom button for AF-ON my Sony a7 iii doesn't have the same menu you show that would allow me to choose Eye AF. The menus mine shows are Subject Detection, AF Track Sens, AF On, Focus Hold, Aperture Drive in AF any ideas what I shd choose to be able to get that Eye Focus tracking you were showing? Thks
Haha! I just linked this one in to your other comment. Apologies, just replying to all my comments this morning! What firmware version are you using? ... and which custom menu are you editing, video or photo?
Hi mike!! I’ve had Sony a7iii for awhile . I still can’t figure out how to get the best accurate skin colors out of it!! Sad!! Skins always look but red or sunburned or tanned. Just not natural! Can you do a tutorial for it. Can i get the correct result shooting jpegs, using what AWB? Creative Style and other settings? Thanks so much .
That’s a shame...the colours are great out of camera with the canons but they do need a bit of work with the Sony cameras. I have two ways of tackling it. The first one is that I play with the settings in Lightroom until I get it to where I want it...the other option is if you shoot jpegs, to get the Sony pro colour from www.eosHD.com this gives you a few profiles you can use right out of camera. Do you shoot jpeg or raw?
Mike Smith I usually shoot JPEGs. Because it’s faster. I will check out the eoshd link! Thanks Mike! I don’t know it has settings for photos. I thought eoshd only is for videos. I will really consider shoot raw if it gives me most accurate n pleasing colors. I watched your Lightroom vidoes! They help me a lot! Thanks again mike! It can be a great video tutorial since you have a lot of experience and you are a great presenter!
Ok cool. Shooting jpeg, the eosHD settings should be baked in to your photographs, and they seem to give better skin tones. I use the basic eosHD setting for all my talking to camera pieces and I don’t do any colour correction on it at all. Thanks so much!! It would be a great topic for a future video so I’ll definitely add it to the list of videos to make! 😁👍
Excellent!! 😁 Almost!? So what canon gear do you still have? I’ve got a few canon lenses still after a couple of years, with the a7iii they’re completely useable, whereas with my a7rii they’d sit on the sideline or I’d have to manually focus them.
I’m such an idiot. One of the main selling points for me in moving from DSLR to mirrorless was that the live view/viewfinder shows you exactly what your image exposure will be. But for my first couple of days of owning this product, I kept wondering where that little exposure bar from my Nikon DSLR camera was! That is until I watched this video and realized I’m a knucklehead. Thanks for clearing that up for me!
Haha!! That’s cool, it’s all about learning a new system which takes time. I went on a shoot with Sony at the weekend and learned a few things where I was like....“Doh!”...why didn’t I know that already! That’s the great thing about photography, you never stop learning and developing!! 😁👍
Don’t be too hard on yourself. It’s definitely a learning curve coming across from an optical view finder to an electronic one. I kept my auto preview on for a long time...and I still keep checking back even now! It is a great feature though, knowing that what you see in the view finder is what you’ll get! 👍
Very helpful video! Watched a bunch of videos about the A73 and this one gave so much information the others didn't!
That’s great to know! Glad I’m giving value. 👍
I made on the lines of what I’d want to know as an intermediate photographer just coming over to the mirrorless system.....so I left all the normal settings out and just included what might surprise a dslr shooter.
I had an astrophotography night out not so long ago and I had left my camera on jpeg, small images, from a tutorial I was shooting earlier in the day...completely forgot to turn it back to RAW and didn't have a single image I could use for anything but instagram...🤦🏻♂️
The best thing to do when that happens is to go out as soon as possible again to the same scenario and shoot it again with the new knowledge from making a mistake. 👍
Thanks for watching 😁
This is so good thanks! Just got it today. This is going to get me using it to its full potential.much sooner.
Great to hear it is helping! 😁👍

Hector Pagan my pleasure Hector. I love doing these videos so expect lots more on the a7iii.
Is there anything specific you’d like to know about it, or do you have any ideas for a video so you could learn more about the camera?

Thanks for the video.. I just wanted to understand the video face lock focus. how are the settings to that?
Thanks, Mike. Another great content. And something new to learn.
Thankyou for the awesome video. Please include other video links that come up within the video in your description. Will help us quickly watch another video of yours and helps you to get more viewers :)
Thanks for the compliments and the tip! I’ll be sure to update the descriptions with video links in them as soon as possible.
👍
So I've been researching how to get more videos to you guys and I've only just found out you can use hashtags in youtube.....and they come up above the title when watching the video.
Check this video out:
ua-cam.com/video/TCehnFt6ZV4/v-deo.html
The hashtag should be above the title.....It works on both mobile and PC's, so if you click on it, it'll list all my videos. Let me know if this helps and/or if you'd prefer links in the descriptions.
Thanks

I love that SONY finally put eye focus with half press in V3.0. I hated having to fiddle with pressing another button. Bravo Sony!
Most definitely, and it looks like they have refined it as well...it seems to be far more responsive now. 👍

Excellent Mats, Glad I could help!!
You are great help. Thank you for your videos.
Thanks so much Ernesto. And thank you for watching and commenting! 😁👍
Thanks.
Hi Jane,
There is a lot to take in with the menus.
No worries. Here’s a link to a factory reset video. ua-cam.com/video/eTxVOIbUWII/v-deo.html
It’s not one of mine but it shows how to do it.
@@mikesphotography I had the same issue with this path - I have to leave soon but when I return I will use the factory resets you mention. I wonder if it is a version thing? What version of the software do you have? Maybe that is what it is? Anyhow I will try reset later. I will let you know what happens.
Hi Wendy,
I’m not sure...but there is a new firmware coming out really soon.
I’m on firmware 2.0 at the moment.
Let me know how you get on with the factory reset if you go down that route.
Great walk thru on these features, keep them coming!
Thanks dude, glad you like them! 👍

Hi MikeHow is the low light performance and stabilization of A7III.Is it worth changing from A7rII to A7III.Cheers
Hi Biju,
If you already have the a7rii, there is only a subtle difference so I wouldn't say the upgrade is worth it for the low light and stabilisation alone. I use my a7iii more for video and I use the a7rii more for photography. If I'm on a photo shoot I definitely find myself reaching more for the A7rii.
I hope that helps.
Just got my a7iii yesterday. Look forward to checking out this video later when I get off
Hope you enjoy it Jsea! 😁👍
Mike Smith I certainly do man.
There is a name for frustrated people with their own lives that dislike a well made and informative video like this.... "haters"
Haha!! They lurk amongst us...I always enjoy a good thumbs down!! 😆 the funny thing is that even a thumbs down is interaction...and UA-cam promotes a video with more interactions whether thumbs up or down! 😁👍

Hi Erik,
Sorry for the slow response, youtube put your comment in the "held for review" section for some reason...
thank you for great info
Thank you for watching! I’m glad I could help! 😁
Thanks for this. Will be getting my A73 delivered tomorrow, just a quick question with the eye auto focus, do you have to keep the button held down to keep it focused on the eye or is it just one click ?
Excellent!! Welcome to the club!! 😁
You can have it so it is constantly tracking or just when you half press the shutter, or which ever button you assign to focussing if you have back button focussing.
Thanks for watching. 👍
@@mikesphotography thanks for the reply, I have set it up to back button focusing. At the moment I have to hold the back button down, same with the eye AF ( I have set this to af-on from your recommendation )
How would I set both these to constantly track without holding the button down ?
If you go into tab 1, page 7/14, and turn pre-AF on, this will keep the camera focussing on the subject...although it is a little laggy.
It also need to be in area wide and af-c as well.
@@mikesphotography thanks very much, I’ll give it a try. Subscribed.
@@mikesphotography Thanks Mike, I am a learner on my A7 iii, and these finer points are excellent!
Hi Mike - do you have any video/tutorials on hybrid shooting on the sony a7iii at all? I have quite a few questions and wondering if you can help/mentor?
Hi Gina,
I haven't made any specific ones on hybrid shooting yet...what questions do you have? Maybe I can help here...🤔
@@mikesphotography Oh thank you! I suppose what I want to know is:
Me hitting record when I have taken the photo, is fine to do when hybrid shooting.
What profile setting should I use so the video footage looks better? I know its a personal aesthetic but after seeing that the gamma in some profiles can affect RAWS I am unsure what to do.
Hope that made sense. I am still trying to make sense of it myself....
I do also, once I edit the movie, take into LR and add my preset..doesn't always work in terms of the look I want. As again, that is limited.
Brilliant video very helpful! Which lens adaptor do you use for your vintage MF lenses. Thanks a lot! :)
No worries Louis, I Just bought a generic one off of eBay...it all depends on the make of lens you're going to be using. As the lenses are manual everything, you'll just need a cheap dummy adapter. Do you have any vintage lenses in mind?
Thanks for watching!
Very good video! Thanks.
Thanks so much!
I have a lot more coming this year so make sure to keep an eye out for more tutorials you might be interested in.
😁👍
Thank you for the video. Have you got any tips for silent shooting for portraits and low lit shows? Many Thanks
@@mikesphotography Thanks Mike. I bought a7iii specifically for the silent mode 🙁
Hi Jana,
The best bet is to try it out in some of the conditions you'd be shooting in to see how it copes. You never know, it might work out great for you...
Thanks for watching. 👍
@@mikesphotography the problem is that conditions are going to be constantly changing and that's not my call to make. I bought it to shoot stills for TV and film
So the best thing would be to try it out and then if it doesn't work how you want it to, trade it in for the A9.

Haha! I just linked this one in to your other comment. Apologies, just replying to all my comments this morning!
What firmware version are you using? ... and which custom menu are you editing, video or photo?
Yep, the latest firmware added a few more functions so it has moved in the custom lists. 👍
Verry good explaining!
Thanks Linda! I really enjoy making these so plenty more to come! 😁

Excellent!! 😁 Almost!? So what canon gear do you still have?
I’ve got a few canon lenses still after a couple of years, with the a7iii they’re completely useable, whereas with my a7rii they’d sit on the sideline or I’d have to manually focus them.
A bunsh of canon L lenses and a 5dm3 camera.
Cool.....and so you’re just about to take the plunge!? How exciting!!! 😁

More coming!! I’m actually out in the desert as we speak, filming a load more! Got the milkyway above my head and snapping away shots all night! 😁👍
I had an A7 and never understood live view on. I had no clue that I could preview exposure until I got my A7iii.
Don’t be too hard on yourself. It’s definitely a learning curve coming across from an optical view finder to an electronic one.
I kept my auto preview on for a long time...and I still keep checking back even now!
It is a great feature though, knowing that what you see in the view finder is what you’ll get! 👍
can we get image as view display?
