Some good lenses to look at. SMC Takumar, Canon FD, Carl Zeiss, Helios, pentacon, vivitar.,
Good places to start. Full frame focal length so depending what camera system you have aps- c, micro 4/3 or full frame...the lens focal will be true.
People always say to use vintage lenses but what adapters do people use ?
Depends on the lens. Fotodiox adapters are what I use. They’re my fav, work perfectly and $10-20

Thanks Sidney! FIY: Concerning SD Card Assessment (at 16:25), Slot 1 supports faster SD cards which is needed when shooting in Continuous drive mode. Video never needs to record that fast, so it's actually better to have images go to slot 1 and video to slot 2.
Unfortunately only slot 1 supports 100mbit video recording ;-)

Thanks for explaining the 1 and 2 custom settings for video, I had never used those before. Saves time on manually having to change those. I wasn't even using slow motion very often because it was annoying to mess with the settings everytime.

Great video! Thanks so much. What file format and recording setting would you recommend for a concert photographer/videographer who constantly switches back and forth between photo and video? I realize I shouldn’t be shooting in 4k 24fps if I want the option of using slomo in post, but I feel 120fps might be overkill? What are your thoughts? Thanks in advance!
Nice video i’m new to camera so i don’t understand shutter speed but it looks like it just make the image darker and lighter ? 1/50 was bright (i liked it) . 1/160 was dark ass hell .

Thanks for the video! I just got the Sony a7iii and the LCD screen on the back only works if pulled out which is annoying because I prefer it to the EVF most of the time. Is this normal or is there a setting I need to change? Thanks in advance!

Thank you for the great video, very helpful. I have a question. I have followed all of your steps, however, I'm not able to make my ISO lower than 800. When I try to set to lower than this it says "This operation or setting not available as follows" Then below this is says "Gamma" and "S-Log2". I'm very new to all of this and don't know what this means, any suggestions please?
When I turn off PP1 I can lower the ISO below 800, so I'm assuming it's has something to do with this?

For slow mo settings (120p 60M) - custom button 2 : when you set it up, it showed AF OFF ... is this right? Can't we get AF ON when doing slow motion settings?

FINALLY! Someone teach me how to use 1 and 2 on dial ring, thanks you! Here is question for you: I had 2470 ZE but few days back price dropped for 2470 GM and I bought it! 1- how to set custom button on lens? 2- Any tricks or tips for this lens?
I usually leave that button alone because I like to activate and deactivate autofocus on it.

thank you for the content but can i get some help from someone please? I just bought the camera and on following this video twice going through the menu system the camera shuts down from over heating. not recording anything just in the menu system. Is it a faulty unit should I take it back? NOTE: I didn't set the temp settings to high because why should I for just faffing in the menu system right?
At 17:50 when doing final adjustments before saving. You do a quick adjust to the awb before saving, and you did it without moving out to the main menu. How?? Was there a button to quickly access it that I missed. I was following you up to that point. I've watched it numerous times but couldn't tell. Could you or someone explain please?

So, my Sony A7 III came with a lense 28-70mm. When I tried to follow this step by step, it tells me that the lens is not put on correctly or it doesn't support that setting. Which lense can I use to be able to set white balance and other settings?
Does Clear Image Zoom and APS-C mode work together? So if I have a 50 mm prime then I'll get to 80 mm with APS-C mode but what will the focal lenth be with Clear Image Zoom?

Dear sir how do you find camera sony a7 iii in your opinion for photographers , is it verygood for Studio and daylight photos in the street especially i want to use it in Studio photograph .
2:53 You should have mentioned that by doing this, you are effectively reducing your resolution from 6000x4000 to 4000x2666 or 10.6 megapixels. That's something you should have said, but overall, great video.

@@mariasmirnova2286 I don't recommend doing it because you can just crop in post, which is all the camera is effectively doing anyway. If you keep that disabled, then you get a larger field of view to choose from for your crop later. Hope that makes sense!

By using crop, it does not increase your range. It is just a crop image with smaller file size.

I had no option for filming in 24 and 120 fps.
You need to switch NTSC/PAL setting at the tab 6:2

It takes practice and patience! And yes, the 16-35mm is a great choice for the a7iii

Nice video Sidney, it's crazy up here in Canada I can't find stock on this camera anywhere. Not that I'm looking 100%, I'm holding strong for the A7SIII if it ever drops. Still rocking the SII and it's my night vision, can't get rid of it yet, but I'm really loving the features of this camera. It's unreal actually, even as someone who still shoots Canon (cine cameras and 6DII) I was surprised to see how much more enticed I am by this camera to the Canon R.
Yeah, the A7III is a great camera for the price! The a7SIII might not be popping until NAB 2019 though...
Fine by me, when it drops I will be compelled to buy it and I've got a few other things on my plate I need to pick up/upgrade...my 2011 iMac for instances ;).
I suspect it will be a decent upgrade given the development time so happy to hold out.
