- Hi guys! Today we're heading to one of the most beautiful book cafes I've ever seen in Seoul, - in all of Kore actually! I'm also talking about the most recent series(s) that I've been reading aaaaand I'm announcing my second channel!!! Hi Cari! I have a book rec for you. The Name of the Wind written by Patrick Rothfus. Its a high fantasy and holy butts his books are works of art. Upside: the books have the most comprehensive and intriguing world building I have ever read. You can read them a million times and discover new things. Downside we have been waiting on book 3 for about 10 years. Check it out if you want. Also fair warning each book is like 1,000 pages 😁
Book recommendation: The Passage by Justin Cronin, plus the two following the in trilogy. Not “fantasy” fantasy with fairies or magic or anything but definitely have an unnatural side. Quite long books, but I read them all very quickly. The writing isn’t unnecessarily descriptive but it still fills in everything you need. The character development is great, and overall the characters are just really believable. Also, (not fantasy) if you’re interested in trying out some stuff written by Australian authors (I’m Aussie so the writing really connects for me, might not have as big of an impact for you but) anything by Richard Flanagan - The Narrow Road to the Deep North I can highly recommend, and also by Hannah Kent ‘Burial Rights’... holy moly that one is a goodie.

(Also, I haven't gotten past the first book of ACOTAR yet. It was entertaining! The plot weirdly sucked me in when, initially, I wasn't having a good time. The folklore / fairy tale references with Tam Lin and Beauty and the Beast were cool. BUT I had... some issues with it hahaha.)

I have been praising ACOTAR for every friend of my mine who likes to read; and we all've been loving it (and generally every Sarah J. Maas book). If you have some time you should read the Throne of Glass series by her (it is an already finished series with 7 book) and it is just the best! (I am currently reading the 4th book)

@caricakes Oh btw I’m sure this has prob been recommended to you by now but Chain of Gold by Cassandra Clare is SO GOOD! I never read any of her other books btw and understood this one just fine, anyway HIGHLY recommend!

I really enjoy your book videos so the fact that you're actually going to have a books channel got me so excited! I'm ready for all that good content hahah. Another serie that I would recommend to you is Shogun by James Clavell if you haven't read it. It's so detailed and the author really makes you get immersed into the story. It's a really nice read! ^^

Bookish content from you is always one of my favorite things! 💕 Well another trilogy, more dystopian-like which I devoured in a few days was from Tahereh Mafi: Shatter Me, Unravel Me, Ignite Me. I LOVED these books. Right now I‘m reading Daisy Jones & the Six and it‘s soooooo good!!!

so much yes for a book channel! I used to do booktube videos back in the day but slowly my reading game disappeared and so did the energy to make book content.. anyway love how you referenced Cindy! I never finished the ACOTAR series but I loved her rants about them haha. if you're still on a ya fantasy kick I'd definitely recommend Laini Taylor's work, she's created some of my favorite magical worlds!

I haven't read ACOTAR yet, but her other series, Throne of Glass I loooooove - only read the first 3 books so far though. I'm currently "reading" The Priory of the Orange Tree, but I'm in a massive reading slump, so I'm not really in the mood to read 😭 I really want to just devour books again.
Hello! I'm late I'm sorry but I'm really really excited for your new channel, I love booktube and you, one of my favourite youtubers, joining is just a cherry on the top! Sorry I don't know if you have read these already but my recommendations are Graceling by Kristin Cashore, I can honestly say that it is my all time favourite YA book. I have read it so many times in both Swedish and English and I never grow bored of it, (I think I'll actually read it now). Also you reading the Queen Sarah J. Maas is *chefs kiss*, ACOTAR will forever hold a piece of my heart, (but I do agree with you, the fourth book was ... yeah). Anyway I would like to recommend her other series Throne of Glass, the world she built in this series is unimaginable beautiful and massive and you can't help but get pulled in feeling like you are apart of the story with them. Her signature move by surprising you time and time again is astoundingly shocking and fabulous, plus we do love our strong female protagonist right and Celaena is one of my all time favourite heroines. Thank you so much for this lovely vlog/book review, the cafe was lovely and I'm looking forward for whats to come! 🤗
