Syria defeated Qatar 3-1 on 31 August 2017 so I guess that's the match Felix is referring to. It was the 3rd round of qualifiers for the 2018 World Cup rather than a quarter final though. Syria failed to qualify in the end, missing out on a place in the inter-confedration playoffs after losing to Australia.

Ah the good old days when chapo did hilarious cold opens. Whilst they were never integral to the show they were great. In fact the Robbinhood / Goodfellas cold open was how I got introduced to chapo. I had a very good friend who spoke about the show all the time. What that ep came out he knew he had me.
So I've been addicted to chapo since then and pay money on patreon, all because of a 3 minute cold open
