Such a marvelous tour! As a newer subscriber, I am thoroughly enjoying all of your videos (along with adorable Roxy❤). The colors in that mural were stunning. Many thanks from Essex, Connecticut
So lovely to welcome you Elizabeth. Oh you must share what Essex in Connecticut is like. We have friends visiting from St Louis soon! Thank you so much for your kind comment and subscribe - it means a lot to us Rachel, David & adorable Roxy x 💕
Hi Rachel and David (Roxy, too), I’d love to share a bit about my little town. Essex is a small town along the Connecticut shoreline. While we encompass the villages of Ivoryton and Centerbrook, Essex village starts at the top of the hill on Main St., and ends at the harbor dock on the Connecticut River. Sailboats fill the harbor on their short sail to Long Island Sound. There’s a cluster of shoreline towns along Long Island Sound: Old Saybrook (famous for life long resident Katherine Hepburn), Madison, and Guilford. The villages are dotted with beautiful ‘sea captain’ New England 18th and 19th Century homes. Unfortunately, the homes here have doubled and tripled in price since the pandemic, and only those buying ‘weekend’ homes can afford them. Still, I’m always grateful for the wonderful walks I get to take in this special little spot. ❤Liz😊
Knaresborough looked very nice. The castle looked interesting too. Good that part of it is free to visit. Love a good market. Looked like a good site as well. Very well kept. Pleased you enjoyed it. happy Easter both🐣🐇and Roxy 👍😊
Thank you and a very happy Easter to you too -it’s a lovely town to visit with loads of things we didn’t get chance to look at 😀 All the best, David & Rachel 🐣😀❤️
Knaresborough castle looked great and so did the town. We used our free night this weekend as the Wirral site. We have family in the area so used it so we could catch up. Take care Gill
Thank you - brilliant you used your free night too - very handy. We would have had a look in the castle museum had it been open, always a good excuse to go back 😀 All the best, David & Rachel 👍
Lovely site that, we are going back for a couple of nights later in the year and have a walk around Knaresbrough, the onsite cafe/bar has a fantastic community feel about it 🙂 Great video as ever 🙂 All the best Trev Debz and Tyler x x
Thank you guys x we said we want to go back later in the year too 💕 the cafe / bar was really really good and jammed full. Not a seat to be had! 💕 Rachel, David & Roxy x
Hi Just found your channel so catching up on your videos. We will be off to Knaresborough soon so it was really helpful to get an advance look around. Thanks for sharing
You are most welcome and we hope you enjoy the channel. It’s a mix of adventures, tech and mods. Let us know what you thought of Knaresbrough too. We loved it as it’s a proper good old fashioned English town x Rachel & David
That was great thanks! We used our free night there too at end of Jan and the Wanderer was busy then too. We always opt for a pitch near the reception as there are smaller, newer washroom facilities adjoining the Wanderer (as you may have seen 😀). We’ve walked into town every time we stay there but have never visited the castle so that was good to see. Happy travels. Thanks again, Joanne and Paul.
It seems like The Wanderer is always busy 😂 not surprised though as it is a great addition! I did check out the facilities adjoining the Wanderer and they are very good, new as you say 💕 Rachel & David 💕
Great video, and it was so nice to meet you, we spoke in the bar. The bar/ bistro is a massive bonus, especially when there's food on. We went to Fountains Abbey that really is a lovely day out.
It was great to meet you x 💕 I still can’t get over how busy it was! Saves traipsing down the road to the nearest pub! Ohhh Fountains Abbey is on our list this year too - was it good? Rachel & David 💕
@@LeisureBit everything about it is brilliant, the history, fantastic walks, loads of wildlife and a couple of places for food and drink. Entry is free if you're in the National Trust or English Heritage. We'll definitely go back.
Thank you for your comment. Unfortunately the caves were shut when we were there but we are going back again to see them in the summer. I have a vague memory of them from when I was a child so it will be interesting to see if the memory matches actuality Rachel & David 💕
Hi David and Rachel a great video as ever and walk around knaresborough I’ve always wanted to go and try it never had the chance until now it looks such a pretty place and I’ll have always been interested in trying the caves! Happy Easter to you all Daniel
It was beautiful Daniel 💕 we highly recommend it if you get chance. We definitely want to go back and see the caves in the summer! Happy Easter to you 🐣 Rachel & David 💕
Great to see you in Knaresborough guys. Shame you didn't get chance to call in The Music Bank where I work. It would have been great to meet you both. Happy travelling 👍
Ah Paul if we had known we would have definitely called in. We are going to come back this summer as there is still so much to see and do- so watch out for 2 friendly faces popping up to say hello! Rachel & David 💕
Hi David Rachel and Roxy.Knaresborough is beautiful in the summer every thing out in bloom every one sitting down by the river nidd and the boats are out.As you seen plenty of small independent shops and a lovely bakery. Has Rachel recovered from Harrogate poor lass.We used to go to Harrogate a lot love it there and Ripon as well. Hope you're both ok Malcolm and Sheila from Workington again
What’s the difference with a managed site? And what is a managed site? Can you use your free night another time? Lower Wensleydale is a beautiful site mind x ❤
Hi both, we loved Knaresborough. I used to go a lot as a child and I had forgotten how beautiful it was! We are definitely going back as I want to see Mother Shiptons cave. The bakery was unreal! Worth a trip for that alone! ❤
Thanks David and Rachel, I really like Knaresborough but another one for you to look at is Pennine View Caravan Park at Kirkby Stephen. They have a bar on site (the Engine Shed) and there are four or five different vendors that cater on different nights over the week in the kitchen. It is a small, fabulous, friendly, family run site with good dog walks on and off site. 😁
The Camping and Caravan Club site in Windermere has on on site pub which is great, like most places, y y staffing will be the main issue why there are not more available. We are in Knaresborough next week for a few days, apparently booking is advisable for the Wanderer Bar.
Oh that’s good to know about Windermere site too! Thank you! It would make sense to book as there was not a seat to be had @ 4.30. I believe Mother Shiptons cave etc is open now too. Highly recommend the bakery too! Rachel & David 💕
Brill vlog guys, thank you. Site looks great. The free night thing is a sore subject tho! 😠 We're currently at Lower Wensleydale site. Booked a week to incorporate the 'freebie' but on arrival was told we can't use it as it's a managed site 🤷♂️. We didn't know those were a thing cos it's not obvious when you book. Hey ho, lesson learnt. Loved the vlog. Regards, Mo 😊👍.
Gutted for you. 😡 I thought I had replied but can’t see it now. What is a managed site and what the difference snd why can’t it be free? Lower Wensleydale is a lovely site though!
@@LeisureBit A managed site... as it was explained to us.... is not owned by CAMC but is run by CAMC staff on behalf of a private owner 🤷♂️.
