Damn what a GREAT series, and Steve Garvey should be in the HOF, He accomplished a LOT!

I agree. However between the baseball writers not liking him very much, a chaotic and embarrassing personal life and borderline hof numbers from spending his entire career in 2 of the worst hitting parks in the majors, it is probably unlikely.

Sure, he was National League MVP, 2 time All star game MVP, and 2 time NLCS MVP. And i think he still have the record for most games played in a row in NL. He totally belongs to HOF.

12:58 Lawrence Welk (who directed an ensemble for the national anthem for this game) is interviewed by Tim McCarver. McCarver delivered absolutely the worst joke ever at the end of the interview when he says that there will be a lot of "uh-one-and-a-two" counts tonight. Even Lawrence Welk winced a bit at the joke

Thank you so much for this! Any chance you have Game 3? It's the only one I can't locate. Again, don't mean to sound unappreciative - this is great!

If Steve Garvey ever gets into the Hall of Fame it will be because of this game.

Only one other man has never been elected who had more All-Star seasons than Garvey. (Among those who were clean)

Garvey batted 4 HR in 1978 NLCS. I think that is still a record.

It's so nice hearing my Earl of Baltimore calling some of the game, my first time seeing him was as a kid on 33rd street Memorial Stadium. I am sorry but Reggie Jackson annoys me something terrible, he said turning doubles into double plays???? What, he was talking about Craig Nettles, but that's only one of many things he said that was idiotic.

that game 5 shouldve been played at wrigley.I guarentee it wouldve been a different result.Cubs wouldve never blown that lead.

@@jasonbertalotto2355 I think the Tigers would have been a favorite. But I think the Cubs VS Tigers would have been a better series.
I have forgiven the Padres for crushing my dreams in 84 as a boy and I admire how they fought back. However, I do think the 84 Cubs were the better team. The 84 Tigers vs 84 Cubs would have been amazing (again, I think it's fair to say the Tigers would have been the favorite...but not by a mile)

Lollar throwing 93 in ‘84 is about 96 to 98 MPH on today’s BS radar gun readings (measuring velocity 50 feet from home plate).
Yes kids, Pitchers actually threw 100 in 1984.
