Hi, great video, wish you a great fun with the car. Its very fun to drive, handles really nice for a small car and the engine plataform. You really can upgrade it easily and also have some fun getting those greamlins out of the car :)

Stage zero remap with a hybrid turbo, TIP pipe and inter cooler upgrade with a larger down pipe and rear exhaust tip size increase.
Then you’ll be torque limited thanks to the Conrods which are made of cheese and mash potatoes………….

It’s great to see you are enthusiastically keeping those nearly classic cars on the road instead of being assigned to the scrap heap or spare and parts, despite having a high VED and mileage. What’s your thought generally on high mileage vehicles? Cheers 😊
A low mileage it is usually a good sign of a car that still has plenty of life... unfortunately, depending on how was looked after, if doesn't really means that anymore...
And let me tell you, I have seen low mileage cars really bad neglected...
I definitely looked at the mileage when I was looking for the M5, as it adds value, but generally speaking, I don't give much importance to the mileage...

that is the problem with our VED rate system in the UK, it slowly penalised you for keeping older petrol cars (diesel not so much), 600 for a 20yr when I was looking for a 3.2 was silly, literally half the value of the car itself.
VED in PT was the other way around, older the car the lower the rates (increases by inflation though) but still it makes more sense
When your VED is more than the car is worth that is silly.

The problem here is that even newer cars are starting to be penalised badly...
It is a money grab, that's all...

I've done the same thing (cheap runabout) and bought a mk3 MX5.
Not sure it's the right car for UK weather though 😁🙈
It's good when it's just a cheap car to play with though.
