I have used it to do rear toe links on some Cadillac’s, GMC, and Chevrolet’s and will bust the loose just using the ratchet, it has great low end torque. It’s not fast but still way faster than using a hand ratchet. I prefer the Milwaukee ratchet’s because with a 2.5 amp battery in them their not as bulky as others are.
I got the kimo ratchet for Christmas and so far I'm loving it! It's not the extended version but for what it is, it works great! And it came with 2 batteries, some sockets, and a nice case.

The standard length high speed can be had for about 80 bucks from time to time if you keep a look out. I wouldn’t give the standard 200+ for i but I recently picked one up for $79.00

The impacting air ratchets feel very strong and I love doing brake jobs and engine work with the power and speed combo. Thank you for having a great channel that makes tool buying carefree. ⚒️
A year and a half with kimo professional use every day and it still works perfectly fine. I already have a second one that they gave for a warranty waiting for backup. Yes, it is a bit slow and I usually have to break most stuff free with it. Great for replacing batteries. I've broken caliper brackets free with it just to see if it would break and it hasnt. Also I must say, it improved 100% after abusing it for a week. It seemed to " break in "
@@darkjord5823 actually my warranty kimo is junk. And the first one is falling apart now lol. But I have a Mac/Dewalt 1/4 and it is a MAJOR pile of junk. I'm starting to think to just get Milwaukee.
I have some ancient air ratchets that have been around forever, but they still work. They are just extremely loud, use a lot of air, and they are the real deal finger smasher-wrist breakers. That's why I kind of prefer the battery powered ones, that don't have that much torque.
@JT Jones Nah! You don't need those fingers! Real men don't need hands that work right! Be a man break your wrists off and spit on them! BRING ON THEM BEANS!!
I have both and they their is no comparison. Air will always trump battery. But the battery is way more handy.I tell younger techs coming in to buy a used snap on 3/8 air online for about 70 and later when you can afford the battery buy it.
Yes! Been waiting on that myself. I have the cxt version and has worked great. My favorite feature is being able to switch from 1/4 to 3/8 square drive.
Definitely paying for the warranty on the Milwaukee. I’ve sent in several already of the new ones because my customers think they’re a 1/2” breaker bar. 🤦🏼
Well that was interesting. Although, I have to ask, what happened to the "Running Milwaukee M12 Tools On a Car Battery" episode I saw the notification for it pop up a little while ago but then I clicked it a bit later when I had time and it was gone?
I just picked up one of the extended red ones and after a day of use it's a really nice size, but I would definitely trade some speed for tq. it's very very week. like much weaker than the brushed old school ones. I would take a extended reach brushed over it. oh well I'll keep it, but it's a bit annoying to be weaker than my brushed ones haha.
I own the Milwaukee non fuel 3/8 and 1/4 ratchets for the house. I use the Kimo at work. If it gets stolen or lost it’s no big deal. For the occasional job at work the Kimo is fine and the cost is great. We also use the Milwaukee tools at work. As far as daily heavy use at work and abuse they don’t hold up well and are overpriced. Any cordless plastic ratchet has to be used with care. I have owned and used Craftsman and Skill cordless 1/4 inch ratchets over the years on aircraft. They serve there purpose when used for the occasional job where needed. Are you going to disassemble a motor with one-probably not. For that clamp with a 3/8 nut and 3 inches of thread in a tight spot it will be fine. 😊
Y bought 3/8 high speed (short) and works very well, its expensive but y think its worth, and also it can put hexagonal adapter and hexagonal drill bit for compact sites. I apreciate you videos. And sorry my bad english.
A viewer sent in theirs for us to test which didn't work well, the tools didn't like it. But everyone felt the wires were too long and or not large enough in gauge so if we want to show one i guess we'd have to make one.
Do you have an updated excel sheet of all your data for us to look at like on view only so we can’t edit it but still use your data to make purchases for ourselves
When I saw a new ratchet video I was hoping it would include the 18v Makita one. That one has some impressive speed claims, and also has interchange heads.
Yea but that's gotta be a chunky boy. There is no small 18v battery really. That's something people don't get with this m12 line(recently alot of hate videos cuz companies are FINALLY catching up)is they are achieving with a tiny 12v battery what most companies need 18v to do. ESP now that they have their HO batteries in the compact size...not much can compare to it's size and power
You forgot on we more important contender, harbor freight also has a long reach rachet under the Hercules brand. I been using it for years and am very happy with it
It looks like the speed loss in the 5:10 to 5:40 race is because of a lack of stiffness between the metal shaft and plastic housing. It looks like the wiggling is eating up progress.
Would also be nice to see a vid on the Durofix RW1210 G12 Series 12V Cordless 3/8" 65 ft-lbs. Brushless Ratchet Wrench. Which is same exact as ACDelco one made by Durofix for General Motors. Seems to be shown to be a pretty tough ratchet.
that figures. I bought the Long Shaft Milwaukee 2 years ago when they only made the slow speed now they came out with the fast speed I waited on the short shaft because I knew the faster version was coming. at least I have one fast version
So upon doing some research in buying one of these, the older hi speed shorty seems to have a bigger head but more torque output. 2557 vs 2567. I suspect the older model is better
I'd like to see a head-to-head comparison video of the 12v SKIL right angle impact against a few of the ratchets. You can buy a kit for a hundred dollars and get twice the torque plus the benefit of the impacting action to break stubborn fasteners.
@@WHATDATTOOLDO Yep. It smoked the competition ! I want to see a video it competition on the nylock nut speed test against the best of the ratchets. The Skil seems like a good tool to fill in the gap between a ratchet and the Milwaukee M12 Fuel right angle impacts.
Thanks 🙏 REALLY appreciate your videos. Can you PLEASE do a comparison of only the “extended reach” ratchets, or at least an update to include the Bosch, Seesii, Makita 18V, AC Delco, 16V AlloyMan, the Skill extended, and even the DuroFX 12V? Just wondering how they stack up against the new Milwaukee 3/8 extended reach. Thanks much
Kimo pays for reviews as well. I bought a backpack sprayer from them and they started offering me free batteries and tools for positive reviews on them.
Supply and demand is what sets prices not how much production costs are however production costs usually play a role in the prices that's usually only in price increases and not in decreases.
The size and speed sold it for me. Still feel like it’s a better buy around $200 though. Also, patiently waiting for the review of the new Hercules 1/4” driver. Rumor has it she looks a lot like the Milwaukee Gen 3 on the inside.
The tiny 4v Ryobi ratchet looks so cute and compact. I assume it's really weak. But thinking about it - I'd love to see it compared with a drill/driver or installation driver. I have a Bosch installation driver, and a 1/4" hex to square driver. I'm really curious how it compares head to head with the new 4v Ryobi ratchets. Next time I'm doing work on my car, I'm gonna have to try comparing it to my M12 brushed ratchet.
I have two Kimos and for the money and 4 batteries they work fine. No everyday use of course. Flat rate mechanics should love that Milwaukee though. Damn
One thing I wish this year took reviewers do is a comparison of tools branded and not branded cordless ratchet/ impacts/ drills / overall platforms on the recharging time it really takes from wasted dead battery to a full battery test , and how different a branded and not branded will last on their own battery on a job task bench test.... I was almost fooled by the green tool rpm 😂
Surprised you havnt done a vid on the fairly new Skil cordless ratchet. Seems to have good specs howbeit a bit long at 16" inches donning a battery. Pretty good deal and you get allot for your money. Tool, Charger and Battery all for $129. Personally i really wish Kobalt would come out with a shorter version of their ratchet. Just too dang big!
Hey on eBay I saw a battery adapter for a Kobalt 24v battery to a Milwaukee and Dewalt 18v tool what would happen if someone overvolted the 18v tool would that perform like sending more psi through an impact wrench?
Hello again Torque Test Channel Thank you for another Great Video 👍 Since you mentioned the Husky ratchet. How does that compare to the Milwaukee ratchet? I am researching for my next purchase. Again thank you
Have you tested the AC Delco battery ratchet? I saw a combo kit with 3/8 & 1/4 + 2 batteries for $180 on Amazon. And they have an extended 3/8 in a kit with a 1/4 + 1 battery for $190. Just curious how that compares.
The ac delco ratchets where 50$ at walmart when i got mine about 6 months ago came with battery/charger and sockets size 8-19 felt like a good deal tool still works, walmart app not in store.
Oh yeah I bought the KIMO a year or so ago, when Amazon had it for $80. It came recommended by an auto repair channel as a way of accessing a tough spot under the hood for light duty work. Joke's really on me however, as I still haven't done that timing belt job and we're apparently waiting to see if the engine tosses its valves into the pistons. Overall, I view any right-angle power tool as an act of desperation: They're all compromised, plus you get to pay extra for the reduced performance.
Wondering how bad the 12V Hyper Tough compares? Looks like can modify the 12V Hyper Tough batteries as well to work between the two tools, where have to shave a little ridge off the Hyper Tough tool for the Craftsman Nextec batteries. Wondering how bad the walmart tool performs compared. Thanks for sharing!
Hi sir ….hope u r doing good. I see that u know everything about impact tools and your channel is impressive. Kindly educate me on the kind of impact wrench to use on small nuts/bolts and large ones. As there are no specific settings in cordless and corded imp. Wrenches. If we use a more powerful imp drive in smaller nuts it might snap it this has been my biggest doubt …Hope u got my point. Thanks in advance
I thought about getting into these, but after trying the impact variant I just can't justify it as another tool to have cluttering up things. I always end up falling back to an impact, or hand tools for space reasons , or pulling the breaker bar out for over torqued fasteners. And once you have a hand tool in your hand you just waste more time switching tools out. I really can't find the right niche to use these things on. I guess for cars and any machine you work on that just happens to have 10 bolts in a row in a tight spot they'd be nice to have.
Lol you can't be more wrong lol Theee ratchet are a god send for any mechanics Where most hand ratchet would not ratchet and you need two hand but there no place for even one hand and the bolt is 2 inch long you would beg for one
@@legros731 That's why I said it likely depends on your specialty. I work on industrial equipment and in most cases I am just pulling out the impact driver if it's not a quick bolt, and I prefer that tool over these because I can use multiple applications of bits and sockets as opposed to just sockets. And the power ratchets are too large in most tight spaces where a normal size ratchet can fit in.
@@madjackgamingandfitness498 lol they make most of these in socket form allen ,torx, screwdriver bit ,tri square and they make socket adapter for 1/4 driver bit it will go in many place a impact driver wouldn't go and your agument that the head is too big is so stupid the impact driver you use is like 10x larger that the ratchet and the head on this new one is the same size as most 3/8 manuel ratchet And if you use a impact driver you clearly don't unscrew 100+ ft/ lbs torqued fasteners or rusty one its a impact driver i use it for is intended purposes if a want to remove a bolt/nut a will use the stubby or the ratchet Using these stupid 1/4 adapter to go to socket is a waste of time and money or you like buying new one every week lol
Could you do a comparison between the new high speed 3/8 extended reach ratchet and the old NON high speed 1/4 extended reach ratchet. I converted my 1/4 to 3/8 would like to see how it compares.
These tools in general seem like something that only someone who does a LOT of wrenching would need, so the higher end options would be a no brainer. If you only fiddle around in your garage every once in a while, a hand ratchet is all you need.

No way. Don't airtools work stronger the more pressure you use? These have the benefit of not being stuck to airhose.
Would love to see you test the new impact wrenches from Bauer, as well as the new cutoff tools from bauer and Hercules.
The standard length high speed can be had for about 80 bucks from time to time if you keep a look out. I wouldn’t give the standard 200+ for i but I recently picked one up for $79.00
How and where did you get it? That was a great deal.
@@toyotatundra0455 Home Depot it was with a 2 pack of batteries, on the buy this get this deals it just discounts both items it the register. As soon as i paid for it I stepped over to the service desk and returned the batteries. You can also buy them online and pick up at store and when you get to the store just say you changed your mind on the batteries in this example and you don’t even have to return it you’ll just get a refund.
I really love ratchet videos. Can you incorporate air in the next episode? Id love to see how my eq38r impacting air ratchet can do.
It seemed to " break in "
Right, it works, it's just not a good buy when you can buy much better for the same price.
@@darkjord5823 actually my warranty kimo is junk. And the first one is falling apart now lol. But I have a Mac/Dewalt 1/4 and it is a MAJOR pile of junk. I'm starting to think to just get Milwaukee.
ive been using the kimo 1/2 inch impact, 3/8 ratchet and 12v drill. the price was so good i had to find out
Also note snap-ons and Matco are like $500-900
Thank you so much for this. It's exactly what I was looking for.
I'm really curious how air ratchets will compare when you hopefully get to those. I'm definitely enjoying this ratchet series
I've been asking for awhile. My short list is still Chicago Pneumatic, Jonnesway, Central Pneumatic, and maybe snap on.
I have a husky that I've owned for 20 years. Powerful 3/8 drive.
I’ve been beating on my kimo ratchet for 2 years now and works just as good as when it was new
I still think that Kimo would test better than the old vonhaus cordless ratchet. I had before the dewalt ratchets came out lol.
I almost bought the Kimo a couple of months ago. Thanks for this, I was still thinking about it.
Been waiting on this. Almost pulled the trigger on the extended 3/8 milwaukee just a week ago when it went on sale.
Got the Ridgid 18v ratchet for 89 during their deal where you get a battery, impact wrench, and ratchet for 169
I'd like to se you guys test the 18v and 12v Makita options for these tools as well!
Yes! Been waiting on that myself. I have the cxt version and has worked great. My favorite feature is being able to switch from 1/4 to 3/8 square drive.
@Samuel Ramirez I have the lxt and I love it!
Definitely paying for the warranty on the Milwaukee. I’ve sent in several already of the new ones because my customers think they’re a 1/2” breaker bar. 🤦🏼
You mean extended reach and increased torque aren't synonyms?!?!?!?!
Well that was interesting. Although, I have to ask, what happened to the "Running Milwaukee M12 Tools On a Car Battery" episode I saw the notification for it pop up a little while ago but then I clicked it a bit later when I had time and it was gone?
You should try the new hypertough from walmart they offer long and versions
we just got the 1/4 in m12 high speed extended, so far were loving it
I just picked up one of the extended red ones and after a day of use it's a really nice size, but I would definitely trade some speed for tq. it's very very week. like much weaker than the brushed old school ones. I would take a extended reach brushed over it. oh well I'll keep it, but it's a bit annoying to be weaker than my brushed ones haha.
I've been waiting to see the Makita ratchet. Thought I missed a video but looking back and seeing your test matrix i don't see it listed.
TTC are we not going to see Milwaukee tools running on a car battery? was really looking forward to that:(
A viewer sent in theirs for us to test which didn't work well, the tools didn't like it. But everyone felt the wires were too long and or not large enough in gauge so if we want to show one i guess we'd have to make one.
@@TorqueTestChannel yeah that makes sense, thanks for the reply!
I been using it for years and am very happy with it
We didn't forget it ua-cam.com/video/WjZees7srsU/v-deo.html
I still have my husky after three years and still doing the job. For $59 bucks on sale, I should have bought two!
Pulled the trigger and got the M12 HS extended today. 249.99 but I got a free 2.5ah battery with it though
Awesome video. I’m glad I watched this before spending my money on the Kimo. Those Amazon ratings are so misleading. Milwaukee is definitely the one.
that figures. I bought the Long Shaft Milwaukee 2 years ago when they only made the slow speed
now they came out with the fast speed
I waited on the short shaft because I knew the faster version was coming. at least I have one fast version
What about the Makita XRW01Z? It came down in price. About 100 bucks on Amazon now. I have no problems with mine.
They did it in a video it was like 85 ft lbs if I remember correctly about twice as strong as a ratchet
@@WHATDATTOOLDO
Yep. It smoked the competition !
I want to see a video it competition on the nylock nut speed test against the best of the ratchets. The Skil seems like a good tool to fill in the gap between a ratchet and the Milwaukee M12 Fuel right angle impacts.
@@stephenbladsacker4192 crazy for a 12 volt tools you can take lugs off alot of smaller vehicles with that lol...
And it got like a 5x bigger head and are 2 completely different tool for completely different job
I would love to see compare Menards house brand Maserforce in your tests. Menard is a large box store like Homedepot in the Midwest.
Appreciate your testing. Thanks for the Videos.
I have the Milwaukee. It’s a four out of 10 for breaking or tightening bolts, but it spins them in and out super quick. I love it.
Rumor has it she looks a lot like the Milwaukee Gen 3 on the inside.
i have the old extended version, my biggest complaint is the RPM.
it's super convenient for things like header bolts or the like though.
Damn that’s crazy!! Thanks for the info! I love RED!!
Can you do air ratchets? I'm very interested in the SP Air 7730, the specs look too good to be true.
For a diy guy, kimo's price is right & has served me fine for 2yrs
Hello again Torque Test Channel
Thank you for another Great Video 👍 Since you mentioned the Husky ratchet.
What about grease guns? I don’t know how you can test but sometimes they don’t want to put grease in a fitting. At least pneumatic ones
Most newer impact wrenches do have settings on them.
1:20 if that's extended reach I'd hate to use their standard version... 😆
Keymo is also a suppressor mounting system
I thought about getting into these, but after trying the impact variant I just can't justify it as another tool to have cluttering up things. I always end up falling back to an impact, or hand tools for space reasons , or pulling the breaker bar out for over torqued fasteners. And once you have a hand tool in your hand you just waste more time switching tools out. I really can't find the right niche to use these things on. I guess for cars and any machine you work on that just happens to have 10 bolts in a row in a tight spot they'd be nice to have.
Lol you can't be more wrong lol
Theee ratchet are a god send for any mechanics
Where most hand ratchet would not ratchet and you need two hand but there no place for even one hand and the bolt is 2 inch long you would beg for one
@@madjackgamingandfitness498 lol they make most of these in socket form allen ,torx, screwdriver bit ,tri square and they make socket adapter for 1/4 driver bit
it will go in many place a impact driver wouldn't go and your agument that the head is too big is so stupid the impact driver you use is like 10x larger that the ratchet and the head on this new one is the same size as most 3/8 manuel ratchet
And if you use a impact driver you clearly don't unscrew 100+ ft/ lbs torqued fasteners or rusty one its a impact driver i use it for is intended purposes if a want to remove a bolt/nut a will use the stubby or the ratchet
Using these stupid 1/4 adapter to go to socket is a waste of time and money or you like buying new one every week lol
I’d like to see the Milwaukee specs on neutral drops and the older but still available brushed version
Yeah, I'd have no problem paying up for that Milwaukee if I was a full time mechanic. That thing flies.
@@volvo09 it's literally the slowest one available
@@Matt-xu6hz guess that green one made it look that good then.
Cordless wratchet even for very occasional is a super useful tool, amazing even, best thing I've bought in 20+ years of fixing cars. (standard milwaukee)
@@Matt-xu6hz lol what are you smoking it literally the faster on the market even the snap on is not that fast and way more expensive
I've been curious about AC Delco's cordless ratchets, didn't know they made them or tools for that matter until recently.
The best ratchets to buy if your on Milwaukee wagon, is the regular short high speed, and the 1/4 extended with a 3/8 anvil from the non fuel ratchet.
This one got a even smaller head that the old extended reach 1/4
Hell the 1/4 extended high speed use the same head as the 3/8
5:41 I think you meant it finished in 80 seconds and 88 seconds.
Or the timer on the screen isn’t correct
Yup, you're correct on the latter. See pinned
5hank you! Great test.
I have the old style black headed one that is not fuel. Nothing has been submerged in multiple liquids, dropped and it never fails me
Do a video on mass.fabricators wrenches he raves about
AliExpress version of the Bosh rachet near clone of the Bosh original and takes the same battery and comes in a kit with battery and charger for $100
Been very happy with my kimo, it’s kind of ignorance is bliss. If I didn’t know anything about another brands I’d be happy with the kimo
Can you do some testing on variours tools with the new high output m12 batteries? Would love to see the comparisons
