- Jason Schreiber is a professional food stylist. His work has been in a variety of magazines and advertisements. We challenged him to construct a house from store-bought gingerbread house kits. Jason pulled pieces from several kits and picked out the best ones to create a masterpiece. How do you think he did?

fruitoson I made a gingerbread house with my fiancé (an architect) over the week of Christmas and it was the worst thing I had ever seen. It was a lot of, “There’s no structural integrity with this icing,” (he broke the icing bag by squeezing it too hard) and he kept eating the gumdrops off of the roof.
It was really funny.
Ron Swanson has already taught us that architects can’t do this.
In Seattle for YEARS architects around the city compete in making gingerbread creations. They take months for planning and preparation. It's part of a fundraising thing. And when it's all over the gingerbread castles, hotels, ferries, you name it, are on display in the lobby of one of the fancy hotels downtown. They're awesome, intricately detailed, very original. I've brought my kids almost every year. Probably not around this year though...
I was born and raised in Bavaria and I can confirm that our houses actually look like that! The Spanish roof trend is relatively new, but I think it is here to stay.
But do you do it before or after the roof colapses?

I used those when I made costumes and millinery for the theater! I guess they are multi-purpose little suckers!
I used them to pin down a woolen blanket when I was trying to block(stretch) it
we use them to stick hair on a doll head in cosmetology school, brilliant idea to use them for gingerbread houses tho

It turned out fantastic. It is a good idea even to buy at least 2 kits, because there is always one broken piece.
How much is rent? I can go as high as 30 marshmellows

Who knew gingerbread creations could go so far
Since the gingerbread house is in a cold area (icicles and snow on the house) change the outdoor pool to an ice skating rink ! Looks like one already.

The only UA-cam pastry chef I know is Claire from Bon Appetit!
His job is a food stylist that specializes in Pastry. Leading me to believe. He is a pastry chef working as a food stylist. Not all chefs hold kitchen jobs.
Kelley Cooper they’re probably also purposely using the title of pastry chef to get more views from people searching for Claire

So, I am poor. I cannot buy another one. I bought a pre-put together gingerbread house and the factory workers out it together wonky. But to fix this, I will put it in the microwave, let the icing soften, and pull the pieces apart, let the icing re-harden on the individual pieces ( so that the soft icing doesn’t stick to everything) then do the icing details with it laying down. Also, I am totallyyyyy doing that door and window and lighting it with the light I used for my jack-o-lantern.
I will update with how it goes.

I’m glad I kept watching after the first few minutes, because boy did he make this sound like it was going to be a pretentious and condescending video. The actual video after he was done being ~*~*~horrified~*~*~ by a store bought kit was fun and helpful.

see make ginger bread jack lantern. I seen people stack wood make 3d wooden punkin. if do that then super easy take apart trace on ginger. should 3d ginger bread punkin. should ice together hard part carving it. only thing think is use a dermal or rote zip be careful not cut self if don't rote tools alot.

He didn't use melted sugar to fit the pieces together! That's not a gingerbread house, but a gingerbread shack.
