“It might get a little wonky but then I decided that’s going to be part of their charm” “it’s off center but who cares” her attitude towards imperfections is so inspiring
I absolutely LOVE how this video was shot! The host is so engaging and passionate... the cookies are so sophisticated and yummy-looking, everything was just perfect. I have to admit, I initially thought this was going to be one of those compilation videos, but I was really pleasantly surprised by how it was concise, yet detailed at the same time!
This might have been the _smoothest_ cooking video I've ever seen!! I didn't even feel the 14 minutes and 41 seconds passing. Kuddos to Spungen and to the editing team.
Never have 15 minutes pass faster in my life! I didn't want this to end! This beautiful lady is such a treat to watch. Have you seen what natural smile of pure joy she has when she tastes the cookies? What a beautiful lady
In my family ( over here in schwabia Germany) it's tradition to bake cookies (Gutzle) and give them as gift and have them at home for guest in the christmas time. We are talking about many many recipes and many cookies. You have to have at least 5-6 different cookies in your house or people will ask if there is something wrong. Last year I baked 14 different cookies from easy stuff like Gingerbread to german Lebkuchen recipes that are 100 years old. Loved this video.
I'm also from southwest Germany and love this tradition. One of my best friends baked 16 different types of cookies in the last 2 weeks.. I wish I could spare that much time, it's incredible.
Ausstecherle! ❤️ Lustig hier in Baden sind Gutzle nämlich Bonbons. I'm from Schwabia too and like my nickname gives away, I am now in my 11th year of baking... I don't celebrate Christmas, but I sure do celebrate COOKIES 😋
Nice! I bake for all my neighbors on Long Island, NY. I’m old fashioned (originally from Phoenix, AZ). I used to cook and bake with my grandmother. These will b perfect for my baking this year. Thanks for sharing the ideas and recipes. Happy holidays to all.
What an incredible, mesmerizing video. I would be over the moon with a box of cookies like this as a gift. Well done and thank you for sharing these recipes!!
This is the most gorgeous cookie video I’ve seen this year. You can see the passion, the host is very insightful, and just pulls you in to this wonderful culinary ballet of sugary art. Wonderful! Amazing work!
This was a whole different experience! It brought together two of my favourite things- art and cooking. She said she put her heart and soul and it shows MOREEEE SUSAN ❤ Also, as an indian, I’m so glad she said chai and not chai tea
this is my absolute comfort-video, I'm just taking a break from work and... yes. I'm planning to do something similar this year for my friends and loved ones swell (but without all this icing.) I would love to see more videos like this.
Wow! Astonishing is the only word that comes to mind. You know, I’ve been baking for years and years and years. I love it. Everything from croissants to panettone. Cookies to ciabatta. Watching this felt almost surreal. Some of the ideas in this video never would’ve occurred to me if not for this video. I mean, seriously. Applying an art background to cookies like Susan did here is phenomenal stuff. Getting inspiration for your cookies from art pieces is just otherworldly. It’s really pushing boundaries. I would just love to sit down and take some lessons from Susan. I feel like I’d learn a lot. I’ll certainly end up trying some of these techniques out myself.
I just saw some Of Kelly’s work at the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota while I was getting treated there. Your art made me feel fantastic! Thank you for sharing your talents with the world! Happy Holidays!
I’m obsessed with this video. Her passion for cookies is mesmerizing. In fact she inspired me to make multiple batches of cookies based on hers. Please make a second episode!!!
That was the most beautiful and inspiring cookie video I have ever seen! She's like a really cool baking aunt I never had! And her unique and beautiful cookies with delicious flavor combinations were out of this world! My artistic and baking side of my heart both feel blessed! Thank you so much for the video!
These are so inspiring I literally just pulled butter out of the freezer I’m making these cookies right now! I have the ingredients in my pantry for a couple variations of the thumbprint the shortbread and the chocolate!! Thanks for the inspiration!
I made some of these for my family and friends for Christmas last year, and this year I am looking forward to perfecting the looks of them and adding more of these recipes in the mix!!!
She seems really cool and doesn't take herself too seriously, and the cookies look gorgeous. I'd love to try that honeycomb one, I've never seen something like that before.
I would totally RECOMMEND people make Joulutorttu (Finnish Christmas Star Cookies). They have simple ingredients but look super fancy and are DELICIOUS.
i want to immediately make all of these, especially the honeycomb one and the round solid color cookies. the slightly muted color palette is really nice.
This video was pure ART!!! How amazing can something be when you pour your heart in it? That's what my mom says, the most special ingredient is always love! 😍
I could only make time for one cookie recipe this year so I made the Brown Sugar Anise cookies to give to everyone at work. Absolutely great, simple to make, and delicious - people loved them. I am making another batch tonight just for the family, and plan to try these other recipes as time allows. Thank you for an excellent video and a recipe I will use again and again.
Susan Spungen thank you for the perfect video showing that you don't have to take all day to decorate cookies.I love decorating cookies but sometimes there's not enough time. I like all the flavors, seeds and crumbles you use . I especially like the "self" decorating cookie and the quick cookie cut into bars. However I think the most innovative is the honey comb candy poured over the shortbread. I think I'll make those but will dip one edge in chocolate. Again, thank you!
Listen I was expecting some boring compilation but instead I got THIS masterpiece. The FINESSE is jumping out all the cookies are so unique and polished
Wow wow and WOW! I’m a cookie Baker and understood how you make these cookies but what it made me realize watching you is that I’m limiting myself to certain recipes and Maybe it’s time to just let loose and experiment with baking . Thanks for being such a wonderful inspiration!

“It might get a little wonky but then I decided that’s going to be part of their charm” “it’s off center but who cares” her attitude towards imperfections is so inspiring
I thought the exact same thing when she said that!
Okay, but her imperfection still looks much better than mine. It's like you have to earn that attitude with skill.

Having Beautiful Nonna wish Love and Merry Christmas to everyone at the end was the most perfect ending to your stunning video. Thank you.
If NYT sold boxes of Susan's 12-cookie combination, I would be first in line!!
