You are correct when you say it takes practice, but you don’t need super insane airbrush skills just practice , practice, practice and work on the ‘flow’ of the flame and remember to not ‘over use’ your template there needs to be a balance between freehand and the use of the template. Hi airbrush asylum, I'm figuring out my airbrush problems. You were right, I needed to work at a higher pressure, things are really starting to work out. I was saying that I work with " oils", the paint, and thinner I use is specifically for airbrushing. Thank you for all your great videos, have a great day, I know that I will. Wesley Sept
I'm going to try your technique, I'm using oils, and just mixing the white, and blue. I still haven't figured out why my airbrushs won't blow lines, eventually I'll figure it out, or buy another brush. Great videos though dude, I'm really impressed.

Hi! They looks amazing! I struggle a lot with my airbrushing, I do it on (wedding) cakes etc and it's tough to do. We use cutters and moulds as well but FX like flames are always the nicest done with an airbrush. Okay I'm over sharing🤔hahaha sorry! Thanks for your helpful vids👍😉 Lots of love and support from the Netherlands, Tamara
Thank you for this video. First of all, i am just starting to airbrush. I have never done it. Just got my compressor, airbrush and paints. I have watched several videos and yours are if not best, at least easiest to watch and learn. And now i am ready to start to try. One thing i have been thinking, like in this video, you started with the blue color and then white and so on. What if you would have started with white, would that work? Is there a rule that determines which color to start with?
I often wondered how people get the cool crisp lines and then fade them onward.. like the templates!! I just airbrushed lightning on a radio controlled airplane I made of 6mm depron foam board.. my biggest problem is my cheap old Badger airbrush.. can't get it to spray consistently, I am using acrylic water based craft paint and finding the right viscosity for paint isn't easy.. painting cars in body shop is much easier... will check out more of your vids!! Thanks, nice work!!
Love the look great work! Thank you for sharing this.....it's a great confidence builder when you see a pro using ordinary paint and getting a professional look👍
I’ve watched a ton of your videos and they have helped me a lot. I thank you for putting up good content. I do have a question for you when I’m trying to be close and do details I get spidering out or it will skip. I feel like it’s in my paint get it reduced correctly but if you have and info for me it would be appreciated thanks
Thanks for your comment and kind words and glad you enjoy my vids. Spidering out with your airbrush is something that happens when running paint too thin or having moisture in your line. Getting your paint mixture right is not as easy as you may think 🤔 that said, this video should help, as it explains paint mixing ratios as well as psi settings to make your paint flow better, so you can create your art with ease . ua-cam.com/video/nzcJqJRaFbY/v-deo.htmlsi=YE18j7JrPfEPL78p
Thanks for sharing your skills. I have always wanted to try this. My only problem is I want to do this on a 1/16 scale RC truck lol. So scaling this technique down should be fun ;)
Have you paint like realistic fire in some kind of enviroment? Been binge watching all of your videos man, probably in top 2 or top 3 of airbrush channels, top 1 for general airbrush use and beginners for sure thanks anlot for this compendium of videos
Thank you Mr. for teaching us some good ideas.I like the blue four fire instead of red.I hope somebody helps you somehow for no charge like you did me! Ok by.
if you are using waterbased paints then use window cleaner (with ammonia) or airbrush cleaner will also work really well. The stencils are solvent proof so they can also be cleaned with gunwash if using solvent based paints.
What happens if the flames are going over gunmetal background and some over spray occurs. Will it go away like your overspray did when you cleared itor must it be a black background
I'm a noob to airbrushing but would love to apply this technique to a guitar body I'm building, same procedure as applying to this canvas? I need to practice first, what do you recommend for paint just to get some practice in?
Thanks for your comment and yes, same process on any surface you could also use Candy colours if you prefer. Any paint will work for practice but I’d suggest either Trident or createx illustration colors as they both work really well 👌🏻🙏🏻
Very good!!! Really enjoy watching your vídeos and tips. Just subscribed to your channel. One question, would this work with regular automotive paint as well? No kandy, i mean... solid paint? Thanks for sharing your knowledge with us!!! Cheers from Brazil!!!!
Thanks for your comment and yes if you use a transparent base equivalent ie...colourless binder and mix that with your colours to simulate candy you will get the same result . Cheers hope that helps 👌🏻
Thank you for all of the great tutorials I have learned so much in the few weeks ive been watching your videos. I have a couple of general questions if its okay. I make custom ice fishing rods (very small short rods) and would love to do this handles for the rods. The handles are made out of cork, In your opinion is there any that I need to keep in mind when painting on cork? When you are painting those very fine details on other paintings one the skulls and the car in other videos what PSI are you running? I am having a very hard time with very thin paint trying to paint thin lines, I am getting a lot of spidering.
cool.new to your channel I'm getting ready to purchase a air brush system.i will be checking more videos after it gets delivered.have a great day and thanks.
Glass will be difficult to practice on, if you are just starting out then I recommend either a T-shirt, canvas or at the very least paper as they will absorb some of the paint if you happen to go too heavy on your trigger, smooth surfaces are difficult to paint on, so it’s best to practice first then move onto more automotive style applications.
Yes, you can use candy colours to create the fire, this is usually how it is done I just released a few waterbased paint fire tutorials to help those who don’t have candy or are not confident to use them . 👌🏻
Pineapple upside down cake Ingredients 1 Betty Crocker™ Super Moist™ yellow cake mix 1 1/4 cup water (for cake mix) 1/2 cup butter, melted (for cake mix) 3 eggs (for cake mix) 1/2 cup butter (for topping) 2/3 cup packed brown sugar Whipped cream for garnish, if desired 9 maraschino cherries 9 without stems (optional) 9 slices pineapple from 14-ounce can, drained * Preheat oven to 350F. In a flameproof 9-inch cake pan, melt 1/3 cup of the butter over low heat. Sprinkle the brown sugar evenly over the butter and cook, stirring, until the sugar and butter are blended and there are no pools of melted batter, 2 to 4 minutes. * Arrange the pineapple on top of the caramel. Decorate with cherries if desired, placing them in the center of each pineapple slice. Set the pan aside. * In the work bowl of an electric stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, or in a large mixing bowl with a handheld mixer, place the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt and mix on low speed until well combined. NOTE: Eva likes to use cake flour. Add the remaining 1/3 cup of butter along with the milk and vanilla. Beat on medium speed for 2 minutes. Scrape down the sides of the bowl. Add the egg and beat on medium speed for 2 minutes. Pour the batter over the pineapple. * Bake until the cake is golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean, 40 to 50 minutes. Remove the pan from the oven and carefully tilt it in all directions to release the cake from the sides of the pan. Let cool in the pan for about 3 minutes. Turn the pan over otno a serving plate and let stand for 2 to 3 minutes. Carefully lift the pan off the cake. Use a spatula to remove any fruit that is stuck to the pan and place it on the cake. The type you half to paint on the inside so a lot of what you do would need to be reversed to get the wanted result's. Like I would need to start with the flame's and end with final coat.
It's not necessary, but I like sealing my art on synthetic paper and canvas with Crystal Coat Matte Varnish, I also 2 pack clear my art when on aluminium panels and have also recently been using art resin to seal canvases and alu panels and absolutely love it, check out this vid 👉 ua-cam.com/video/oE7_sqmiq28/v-deo.html
With automotive flames you can use the similar steps but replace the colours with candies, remember to seal your candies in between each coat using an intercoat clear to avoid it bleeding through once two pack cleared after finishing your artwork 👍🏻
So I use the template and my free had skills???? Could you tell me what free hand skills those are so perhaps I could go away and practise those before coming back and trying to work out what it is you are doing????? After all you are presumably trying to teach beginners???????
Thanks for the video. I just found it today. You made it look easy enough that, now I want to try it. Question, by using the Createx illustration colors and the Createx Auto air colors, if I were to use them say, on a plastic baseball helmet or car hood, would a can of rattle can clear, work on the helmet and a different clear, work on the hood?

I thought I wanted to try it,but after watching this video, I don't think I have half a chance of getting it right.

The type you half to paint on the inside so a lot of what you do would need to be reversed to get the wanted result's. Like I would need to start with the flame's and end with final coat.

how many air brushes are you using at one time
