Hey Ed thanks for this video!!! I just did a Harley Road King using this technique - My customer took it to the "Blessings of The Bikes" and everyone flipped out about it and commented about how great it looked. Since doing it I've picked up three other Harley's to paint and a mud truck.
I still need a bit of help with my flames so I got your all fired up dvd and have watched over and over - my flames have come a long way!
Thanks again - as always your videos are tremendously helpful!!!!!

I'm just getting started in airbrushing. Hell, my starter kit hasn't even arrived yet! BUT, as I troll for beginner lessons I find that I like your teaching style. Just enough commentary to get the points across and plenty of action to demonstrate what you're talking about. You'll definitely be on my regular list for online instruction!

Lawson Poling. Have an update on how things are going with the air brushing? I tried it as a kid with a walmart quality airbrush. Think it was a testors contraption sold in the model and model paint section. Was using it for models but gave it up because the brush was designed to hook to a can of air and not a compressor. Tried it again in my 20's and started doing flames. Flames are the easiest thing in the world as there is no absolute pattern or even a spectrum that has to be followed like skulls for instance. As a newb the hardest thing is getting use to the spray pattern and how much air/paint to let through. Once you get the practice in to control that flames are easy peazy.

I don't understand people... I bet none of them can even do a simple flame job never mind a Ghost flame job I got hooked on to this channel because of all the neat Airbrush and other works of art I saw! plus there are tutorials. TUTORIALS! Yet nobody appreciates it... that's sad... I mean I'm so impressed that I I'm itching to try... out airbrushing... You guys seriously need to show more appreciation. You don't like it that's cool but please don't insult the man. his got kick ass skills!

I really don't give a exact mixing ratio because it will vary for every one doing it because of different temperatures. But lets say at 70 degrees if the correct mixing ratio was 2 parts paint to one part reducer I would over reduce it to 2 parts paint to 4 parts reducer.

@cpaden7 With auto paint and proper reducers, you shouldn't have a problem, but acrylic mixed with tap water will eventually go moldy. Had it happen twice now and I'm not happy about it. (I Mix up cheap colours to practice with). I gave my old compressor to my mom for cake decorating and she mentioned something about it being a no-no to mix her cake colours with water coz it can make the cake go moldy if its stored for a long time. So, if you use tap water to reduce acrylics, boil it first. o/

Hello! Watching your videos has inspired me to get into detail airbrushing. You give great advice, especially for newcomers, and I want to say thank you for that. Right now I own a badger universal 360 that I use for models, and I'm wondering if you've heard anything about how effective they are. I haven't found any non-model reviews and before I spray auto paint through it I want to make sure it won't destroy the airbrush. Thanks again for your videos!
