I have a Fengda FE 130 brush and a beginer. Ive noticed your airbrush, i can see the needle, mine has a screw on shroud. Should i remove this and what nozzle size are you using. Thanks, great art work.
When I was a beginner (well, compared to you I'm still a beginner) I did skulls over and over and over, because like you said, they are very forgiving. It got a little boring after a while, but it was a fantastic way to learn control, shading, texturing. Skulls are also one of the top requested topics from clients. So now, I can pump them out quickly, they look awesome and are really fun, And the one you picked to do... wicked! I love it! Thanks for another incredible video.
Thank you so much....I know every time I think 🤔 should I do another skull tutorial it’s well received and as you mentioned it is still the most requested subject from clients and is definitely a airbrushing staple if you are wanting to do this for a living. Glad you loved the vid and thanks once again for your comment 👍🏻
Yes, flames smoke etc is always a tricky one and probably the hardest thing to teach, it is a case of practice practice practice and being prepared to use that super handy ‘eraser colour’ lol all the best I’m sure you will nail it 😉🔥
I am a scale modeler not totally new to airbrushing, but I love to watch all your videos because I learned so much. I love your channel and I am going to be a subscriber. I am learning so much by watching your videos. All of the tutorials are just amazing tips on being able to clean your airbrush, tips on how to clean your nozzle and your dry tips. Great tutorials. I really enjoy watching them and I’m learning so much more every time I watch.😊
I bought airbrush stuff nearly 18 months ago and still not used because there is no way I would be any good at the precise talent you need. I bought a "so called" cheap $900.00 setup but unfortunately did this buy without getting the info. I ended up with an inferior sparkmax kit which I didn't realise was so inferior to REAL kits. I WILL get a good kit and then hopefully start. You make it look SO easy but way beyond the bound of people like me with inferior CHEAP gear. KEEP up the good work. I WILL give it a go soon, I hope!
I'm not into skulls, however, when it comes to technique and talent it's really hard to not appreciate what truly is art. I'm learning a lot from you and a few others. Thank you for the inspiration in my plans of painting fishing lures.
Awesome explanation. I have never been near an airbrush and was curious as to what was involved. Very nicely explained. Now I see what kinds of skills airbrush artists have. Makes me appreciate the work they do even more.
I am very much a beginner and appreciate all these types of videos they are very helpful buddy! Some people are natural artists but a lot of us have to work really hard at it, been watching lots of your videos lately recently subscribed keep them coming thank you! 👍😎
I’m going to find out soon enough if I even belong in the beginner category. Looks tough but I like the way you break everything down into layers. Makes it easier to understand.
I met a problem a few years ago while trying to paint a skull headlight mask that i had made for the streetbike and because it had lot's of ridges and contours i really struggled to keep the over spray off other parts that i wasn't painting,i tried to mask them and try again but just ended up with masking lines - I'd love to see a tutorial on painting something 3d and see how to avoid overspray
Yes, it can be difficult working on a 3D object check out this video from a few years back, which will show you how I airbrushed a skull jaw on a motorbike helmet chin guard 👉🏻 ua-cam.com/video/0XxNT0XXDDk/v-deo.html
Really appreciate the paint information commentary and more indepth explanation as you go .... looking forward to watching more videos on paint itself ...
As a beginner, I’m curious about the way you swap your airbrushes around with different colours with different brushes? Is there someone off camera cleaning those out for you Carsten? Lol. What do you do with the one you just used? While using another mate. I clean mine after every use, and in between on a project. Is this necessary? What’s the tip on this mate? Love your work too!
I'm not an airbrush person but I own a couple guns. I'm never going to be because I'm a bit OCD and breaking down a gun to thoroughly clean it sucks! Anyway, that's just me. I love drawing with charcoals so I know the concepts of what you're doing and honestly wish I could bring myself to airbrush without panicking that I need to clean the gun better while working on a project. It looks cool! What I did notice is, you left the tip on the gun. Everyone else has removed it and said paint will build up in it and possibly splatter while working. ?
Many thanks and yes, no probs I am planning on it the template vids are designed more for the beginner in mind but I think simplifying them (like this one) seems to be more useful to viewers , thanks again really appreciate the comment and feedback 👍🏻
Hello, I'm a beginner and I'm working on skulls. I use your mix to make a fleshtone color. Do you have a good mix for the sepia color like on this vidéo. I want to create my color. Thanks a lot for your vidéos, they are really helpfull. Thanks
I'd love for my airbrushs just to spray like this lol waw! I just cut get a fine detail line for any length of time it'll start tip drying or clogging this is amazing work! I've got to a stage whare it's like OK I better move on from say a model or figure to airbrush I try put it off as long as possible doing the build and detail work just because the fact of it is the airbrushs do not work like this that's for sure there iwata eclipses and a Badger
Thanks for your comment and getting your airbrush to spray fine can be challenging, it really comes down to your paint mix and what brand / paint type you are using. Take a look at this video where I explain how to achieve fine lines and detailing as it may help - ua-cam.com/video/Gxrb_bmQ5B8/v-deo.html
Is There Always A Problem With The Eclipse CR With The Paint Getting Clogged To The Needle? The One With The Mac Valve A Better One To Get? Your Videos Are Awesome.
Any chance you might do another miniature airbrush tutorial. Maybe with a new 40k mini? Now the leave your house rules are out I would even provide the miniature/s for a tutorial series.
Thank you templates are available from us (Australia wide) or AirShot stencils (worldwide) direct links can be found in the description of the video 👍🏻😉
I am new to airbrushing. I am learning a lot from watching your videos. I would like to know where I can get the template you are using in this video of doing the skull. I would like to be able to print it off & then use it. Looking forward to many more hours of your instructions.
Hi. First I d like to thank you for your help in the tutorials you share. I have a question. I am about to spray a 1/18 scale model of a van. After I have striped the paint off to bare metal i primed it with white high build automotive spray can. Now I wish to airbrush a union jack flag on the sides exposing many white paint. Can I just airbrush the red and blue on the primer and at the end lacquer it or do I have to give it a coat of gloss white after the white primer ? Thanks and all the best. Gerald. 👍
I have an iwata hpcs and when I pull back on the trigger to get paint I find it hard to pull the trigger back with control when I first got the airbrush I didn’t have this problem is it possible I put the spring on backwards
Could you please tell me what paints to use. I bought some Timbertech acrylic paints for learning how to airbrush through your videos, but find that I am having issues mixing to the right consistency & having applying issues. I looked on Amazon for Createx paints & I found the reviews a bit challenging. I also looked at the Vallejo Basic USA Colors Paint Set & not sure. Could you give me so insight on what I should get.
Great video, a question: wy all the airbrushers only do dark content, i mean only skuls and death stuff, wy don make planes cars, motorcycles, cartoons etc...
Thank you , I finished a hot Rod commission earlier this year but now no longer take on artwork commissions as I don’t have the time to dedicate to them. Take a look at my IG for lots of art completed over the years 👍🏻
Hello so I'm using createx paint the original stuff but seem to have a lot of problem with flow I have tried reducing it but still no luck are the wicked/illustrations versions better any advice would be great
I’d really like to try this project. I’m taking your online course but have been having a lot of difficulty with the first skull, my skills or lack thereof aren’t up to that yet, this appears a bit easier. I know this video is years old, does anyone know if this stencil is still available to be shipped to the states? I’ve tried the link in the description for air shot stencils and their website but it always brings me to a hub for various other companies. If anyone has a direct link to air shot I’d appreciate it.
Hi there thanks for your comment and appreciate you buying our online course. AirShot stencils has since closed down that said we are in the process of offering the stencils and designs on our site and plan to make them available worldwide 😉 just keep an eye out on our site or sign up to our mailing list (if you haven’t already) so that you are aware of when they become available 👍🏻 Hope that helps
That explains it, thanks I’ll keep an eye out for that. Thanks for all of your videos, honestly without them I’d have probably given up on airbrushing but with them there are a lot of cool projects to try
Man big fan, love your work I'm a beginner myself so this is very helpful, however I have to let you know I'm Italian and Sepia is an Italian word and pronounced how it is spelt (SEP EE A) not seepia mate, all the best 👍
There is an issue when trying to buy from your store. I have tried to buy this template among other things. When it gets to the shipping method, there is no options, it is just a blank feild, and it won't let you proceed without choosing a shipping method.
Sorry to hear Sarah, feel free to reach out via email and I can look into it for you you you will find our contact form on our website : airbrushasylum.com.au
that little "mistake u made on the left horn .. will you fix that ? or is this only for tutorial purposes, and ofc this looks stunning even tho you think its "easy" :D

what are some more good teachers
I've shown a few airbrush videos to my 12 year old son and now I've gotta invest in an airbrush setup. And I'm thrilled!
As the little boy on The Incredibles once said, “That was totally WICKED!!!!” Loved the final product!!!!
Thank you so much 👍🏻
I just got my first airbrush and after watching some of your videos I am getting excited to use it.

I have fallen in love with airbrush art but I get intimated as my confidence lacks but as for u omg you are the best instructor I've ever seen
Nice tutorial. Easy to follow and very clear instructions. Plus... this made me realize to purchase an airbrush with a smaller needle...
This is more than art, you have to be born for it!!!
Beautiful !
Received this stencil an a few others in the post today can’t wait to have a go
You have great flow control of your airbrush.
Just found your videos while considering buying an airbrush! You make it look soo easy! I like the way you teach! Subscribed!

hi as i do not have a freehand stencil can i use a
French Curves Stencil to do the flames
Yes definitely any curved stencil will work 👍🏻
That's fantastic do you ever use a mahl stick to steady your hand ? It's something I need when oil or watercolouring.
Nice detail.
Which air brush kit would you recommend for beginners?
Perfectionist...
Wowwwwwwwwwwwwww Love your work, thank you.
Thank you so much for your kind words glad you enjoyed the vid and the art 👍🏻😉
