    Charter captains have told me that the Fish Reveal and side scan have been game changers for them. How has it changed the way you fish?

      Does side scan have Fish Reveal feature? I didn't see that option on demo, just on the downscan icon.

    Very nice overview and good presentation, excellent! Quick question: does the GO series also support some kind of live sonar chart recording?

    • @AquaLifestyle
      @AquaLifestyle  3 роки тому

      Thank you. We are glad you enjoyed it. You can record the sonar log and save it internally or to a memory card (recommended). To do so you need to access the Advanced menu option. Instructions on how to do so can be found on page 119 of the operation manual.A PDF version can be found here:

    how do you switch to gain bottom-depth cartography? also, you can't see fish arches in simulation mode, correct?

    i know this is second nature to everyone except me...but could you please tell me what im looking at in terms of what all that stuff scrolling is? when you said side scan, my thoughts are that basically a camera at the water line is looking out to the horizon. but, when i look at the screen it looks like it is still shwoing the bottom...so confused. I know im slow, please dont take this as a criticism, i know im in the minority of people as i grew up with a mechanical sonar that just told the depth and this new stuff escapes my framework

    when you say down scan. and i look at the scrolling picture, it looks like a side view. I would think that down scan meant overhead view, or plan view. This is what confuses me. To me, what is visible on the screen on the down scan, is what i would expect to see from side scan.

    Simrad seems to be a little more complicated to use as a new user. Lots of options to play with say vs garmin. I personally am a garmin user but considering swapping to simrad.

    Great video! Can you put bottom lock on full screen? Or just split screen? Also silly question, let's say I am only drifting or going less than 2mph, how far back from my boat is what I see on the screen?

    • @AquaLifestyle
      @AquaLifestyle  2 роки тому

      Thanks. Glad you enjoyed the video. You can put bottom lock on full screen sonar but when you select the bottom lock feature it will automatically split the sonar screen to show the flattened/zoomed in imagery on the left and regular imagery on the right. If you want to make the bottom locked imagery bigger you can hit the +/- button at the bottom of the screen. The + will make the imagery larger. Watch for an upcoming video explaining how to interpret your sounder screen.

    great video how deep will it still work good ?

      On the traditional sounder I have got good readings up to 800-1200 feet in salt water (depending on water conditions)with the included transom transducer. With DownScan from my experience, you can expect decent readings down to about 80 feet in saltwater

    Explain the items, like what is Tvg?

    • @AquaLifestyle
      @AquaLifestyle  2 роки тому

      TVG - Time Variable Gain
      TVG reduces sensitivity at the surface to remove strong clutter from wakes (range 0 - 3). It removes surface clutter the higher it is turned up the less surface clutter you encounter from wave and wake action.

    I’ve had a go7 for a view years. Last Sunday it updated it self on the sea & I’ve lost all my markers and tracks. Would you know how to get my data back any help would be helpful thanks

    • @AquaLifestyle
      @AquaLifestyle  3 роки тому

      It it really unusual that it updated itself like that. I would call Navico tech support while you are in front of the display and maybe they can help recover your data. I am told that it usually is stored in the machine's internal memory and is not full deleted until directed to do so.

    Does this unit NOT support Active Imaging ??

    • @AquaLifestyle
      @AquaLifestyle  3 роки тому

      I believe it does not. The Lowrance FS does, and has many of the same features as the Go series. You might want to check out our video on that unit.

  • @Waylowsurf
    @Waylowsurf 3 роки тому

    How do you power the unit when it's not on the boat.

    • @AquaLifestyle
      @AquaLifestyle  3 роки тому

      You will have to find an ac to 12volt converter or a small 12v battery (like the kind found as back up batteries for home alarms) to power it off the boat. Simrad does not offer a conversion at this time. Always make sure you have an inline fuse to protect the display.
