Thanks from a brand new user here in the near future. I purchased a new to me 21ft Sea Pro and it has double sim rads at the helm. Good to have this as a tutorial for me because there are no manuals available. Thanks again!!
the videos are very good and very clear, it was what I was looking for to learn how to use my VesselView 903, but the volume of the voice is very low. You have to see them in a super quiet place and with the volume at 100
Thanks for the tutorial. Are you able to tell me if there is a way to create a grid area with a go7? I would like a way to set up an area with grid lines and follow the grid lines to search a given area for larger objects such as shallow shipwrecks or salvage/recovery of larger items.
The only grid system available that I was able to come up with is overlaying the Latitude and Longitude grid lines on the chart (I think that would accomplish what you are looking for). You can access them by going to the settings menu bar on the far left of the home screen. Click on Charts and then select Grid Lines. This will overlay Lat/Long grid lines on the chart.
Glad you enjoyed the video. On the echo screen fish will show as a red arc and in down view and side view they will appear as bright specs or spots in the same color as the rest of the image but generally brighter.
I turned on my structure scan and get a blue screen with the white line in the middle. I just bought this boat and it came with it, so I'm just learning how this stuff works. What do I do to make it show the bottom?
The side scan feature will not show anything until you are in the water and moving a slow or idle speed. It should start showing the bottom once you are underway. If it still doesn't after that try restoring it back to factory settings.
You are correct. The image is made up of multiple thin slices of imagery created by one of those frequencies (either 400 or 800khz). Thanks for the correction.
I've got the GO12 series. Just got it last summer. It does NOT allow High chirp in echo AND down scan or side scan at the same time. It will allow it in the simulator but not in real time mode on the water. The simulator is really misrepresenting what the product can do.
I've been told that with the latest update (V20.2) you can run both and display them at the same time real time. You can now also connect another Go12 and share all data and screens.
Will active imaging and sonar work together with the transducer plugged directly into the unit (GO 12) or does it it require the use of the S5100 module to achieve this?
If the transducer used has sonar and active imaging combined such as the one in the link below then they will work together without the need of a module. www.simrad-yachting.com/simrad/type/sonar-and-transducer/activeimaging-3-in-1-transducer/?gclid=CjwKCAiAsaOBBhA4EiwAo0_AnIf52HQZeVKEM9PNQsZjprSvi1fS6CkNIpD37pxOW7xBfk20HulqdBoCXzcQAvD_BwE
I have a go5XE with the std. transducer. I can't seem to get down or side scan to work. Does the boat need to be moving to see down, or if in one place will down scan work as it seems to be scrolling in your demo.
great tutorial. too bad these scans are showing historical data.. it's information that you already passed. would be nice if it can "see ahead" especially upcoming obstacles, pools of fish, etc.
This is one of the best tutorials available about setting up these options
Thanks. We are glad it was helpful.

I had to subscribe after that, thank you so much for making a detailed video getting straight to the point. Keep the simrad stuff coming!
We appreciate the sub. There are a lot more Simrad product videos coming. Stay Tuned.

Thanks for the input. We will work to fix that.

Great videos I have a simrad go 5 what color would fish show up as in echo or side and downscan ?

Are you sure downscan transmits on multiple frequencies? I thought the Simrad EVO2 and GO models transmit downscan at fixed 455 or 800 kHz?
You are correct. The image is made up of multiple thin slices of imagery created by one of those frequencies (either 400 or 800khz). Thanks for the correction.
@@AquaLifestyle I've enjoyed the video. Keep up the good work.

@@AquaLifestyle no, I have the 20.2 update. Ya still can't run high chirp and down/side scan at the same time. I tried.

For down scan and side scan to work the boat does need to be moving. The simulation mode I was in for the demo is as if the boat is in motion.
Is fish reveal available with active image transducer
Fish Reveal is available with Navico's (Lowrance and Simrad) Active Imaging 3-in-1 transducer so long as the display has the capability.
Too much clutter how can you tell what a fish mark looks like.
