I've watched The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel all three seasons three times & getting ready to watch it for the forth time right after I finish Mad Men. Love the late 50's & 60's
@@cloudproductions4651 I do too. I was born late in the 50's but I do remember the 60's from the viewpoint of a little kid. My older brother and sister helped me see what it would be like as a teenager through their eyes. Mostly by listening to their records of Rock bands. They weren't into Lenny Bruce when it came to comedy. We did listen to Bill Cosby records back when he was funny instead of ...you know.
There’s something about a man singing about how much he misses his wife and how much he loved the simple things about her: her closet, how good she looked against the sink, how she used to need him for fixing things on the house, how long she took to get ready and more... Lenny, a simple man.
Lenny Bruce: he isn't a saint , but any comedian/social commenter is living in his legacy "nowadays". Also my wife, & I lived the Honey/Lenny Life...& damn no time to be petty she has been gone from this earthly plain for two years, yet her impact remains.
Back in the old days furnished rooms were cheap to rent from people who couldn't afford fancy hotels, houses, etc... Some furnished room were great living conditions to live in, others were not. Now in today's time, furnished apartments are a good way to rent and live in being better living conditions in today's day and age. Compare to Lenny in his monologue, furnished rooms were beneath him compare to him living in a mansion. Hope my answer helps you. :)
@@queenalice7483 Good question, I'm sorry I don't know. I tried to research and find the interview. Although it looks likes it has to be in the 70's maybe early 80's.
Luke Kirby totally nailed Lenny. Heartbreakingly well done.
He seriously deserve an Academy award!!
So did Dustin Hoffman in "Lenny"
Agree! Hoffman was brilliant & fearless. I hope with the Mrs. Maisel buzz and Luke Kirby's
stellar portrayal that people go back & watch "Lenny."
One of the big reasons I watch the show
Who's here after watching The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel
Scene got me man

Welcome!
Me. Born in 1945 I remember the whole Lenny Bruce controversy.

Lenny, a simple man.
Thanks for making me fall in love with a man who died before I was even born lmao
Lenny is a master of delivery the way he hangs on “Ill be in a mansion rich!...and all alone” it shows the torture in his soul
Lenny had a beautiful singing voice.
The end with his ex wife’s response 🥺🥺🥺💕
He is funny and sad at the same time. Amazing act.
Honey and Lenny.. what a stormy couple.. That song's so sad, when you think about it.. Poor lonely Lenny😢
he actually has a wonderful singing voice
Beautiful.Poetic.Heartbreaking.
Pioneer, Prophet, First Amendment crusader. Every comic, writer and actor who came after owes him a great debt. RIP to a very funny and brave soul.
The guy in Mrs. Maisel portraying Lenny bruce was very good. Watching this video makes me think that Paul Reubens could’ve done a good job too
If he was younger for sure
I just discovered Lenny Bruce and the first thing I thought was that he looks like Paul Reubens
Great historical document
LUKE KIRBY did amazing job in Mrs Maisel ,Brilliant actor.Love to see Lenny Bruce xoxo
36 yo and Lenny Bruce is hands down the comic genius of this century. No one better
Here^^ Me^^
Amazing how accurate their recreation is 😵

Sometimes the meanest men are the sweetest ones and Lenny Bruce is a shining example of one
I just watched The Marvelous Ms. Maisel
Honest is what he was
I'm here after Gilmore Girls...I gotta watch more of this guy:)
Marvelous Mrs Maisel then movies on Lenny Bruce.
When do they mention Lenny in Gilmore Girls? How did I miss this?
@@shivaameli4927 Jess mentions him in a brief convo with Rory
When a true genius enters this world, you may know him by this sign: That the dunces are lined in Confederacy against him.
I never found this funny. Instead, it always depresses me...and yet I keep coming back to it.
Me too mainly because i have no friends
I don't think he intended it to be funny. at least not its main purpose, he was letting his audience in.
Omg he’s real!!!!
When you realize it was not a act.
Nice
❤️
I was wondering about the usage of an expression "furnished room" here. Did it have some negative connatation back in the day or something?

Who's the lady talking at the end, after lenny finished singing ?
I think it’s his ex wife, Honey
Lenny's wife at the time.
@@tranurse Yep. You're right. It's Lenny's wife.
It’s Mrs Maisel
His wife Honey ...actually my wife's name is Honey.
I really wanna like the video, but it has 420 likes and I do not wanna mess with that.

@@samlegendwrestling6733 that's fine, I just wanted to make sure it was before 1994, for a timeline project I'm working on.

I'm here because Joe Rogan called him the godfather
Bob Dylan called Lenny an outlaw in his song about him, I think I prefer that.
