This is such a underrated movie. All the actors give such a great performance it's also one of my favorite Brendan Fraser movies. Long live The Lone Rangers
I absolutely loved this film when I was a kid in the 90s. Couldn’t believe it when I got older and asked people about it that almost nobody had seen it or even heard of it before. What a throwback! I’m well overdue a rewatch, I think it’s probably been about 15 years.
I actually watched it in the base theater since I was in the Army when it came out. Great movie! I found it funny that The Lone Rangers' style of rock was years out of date by 1994. Maybe that's why they weren't getting any music industry attention? The record companies were looking for a band like Pearl Jam then. I remember there's the scene where Chaz is talking to a fan on the radio station request line and he wants him to play alternative rock. Chet blows him off and says something about how that "Seattle s***" is horrible. I think the Rangers wanted to be the next Guns N' Roses.
Carl Mace: You got any kind of training? Doug Beech: Well, I was in the Merchant Marines. Carl Mace: Marines. Yeah, I copy. [gets distracted for a moment] Doug Beech: But, I was an accountant. Carl Mace: Nah, you won't be held accountable
@MediaPastimes my buddies and i constantly qoute that scene. One of the greatest dvd double feature sets has to be the rare PCU/Airheads collection from mid 2000s Walmart. Great content as always sir🤘
I love this film. The part where Buscemi teaching Sandler to be intimidating I was crying laughing at that scene. It's a classic in my eyes, I often rewatch it just for the nostalgia. Farley is hilarious as the cop too.
I love Airheads! One summer they showed it everyday on VH1 during its Movies That Rock and I watched it every day that summer! Great video my dude! 🤘😎🤘

I’ve always thought it was a little too inside-baseball for most people. Like, if you’re not familiar with the music industry, the plot and many of the jokes don’t make much sense. But if you are, they’re just A+ comedy gold. That being said, there were some pretty great one-liners too. You had the “Rodney King?” “He’s that guy” line, which is perfect. “What was she on the Clydesdale scale?” is another classic.

I absolutely loved this movie, and had no idea what to expect going in, except that it was marketed as a comedy. When Airheads subverted those expectations with relatable characters and surprisingly well acted, multidimensional roles, it became one of my favourite movies of the era. Thanks for bringing it back and giving it some well earned representation.
Like most modestly priced comedies in the 90s it was hard to not make a profit as blockbuster video alone would buy 50 to 100 copies for alltheir stores add to that cable plays-dvd/vhs sales etc.

Didn't know that it was pulled from theaters after 2 weeks. That means I can pinpoint exactly when I saw this within two weeks... And the fact that I saw it theatrically even more remarkable... given how few people managed to see it there. I do remember that there was some kind of raffle going on for a guitar they had behind the glass in the lobby. Don't know if that was something they did in most theaters but this was a place outside of Chicago in the suburbs so not exactly a special venue so I believe it probably happened at many locations probably as some kind of marketing gimmick. Whoever won the guitar wasn't anyone I knew. Did some more research. I never had any musical abilities or a drive to learn guitar at that age but I distinctly remember thinking the guitar's green color was insanely beautiful and being upset that I didn't win. Just looked and saw the green one featured in the movie and it was definitely what they had on display that they raffled off. Crazy that I remember this. I can barely remember anything else about the friend I went with because we moved away like a month later... But this is bringing back tons of memories from that time.
