FINALLY I get your name! I've always thought I was mishearing your name - Mel Li - but it's actually MelV Li! Anyway, thank you for your content! In the last few years I developed a huge interest in solo games, and your channel is doing a great job! I would Love to see more 'actual plays ' in the future if that's possible, that would be great!
Another amazing video! I love how many great videos are coming from the Solo RPG community on UA-cam recently. I've been really sick recently and my main joy right now is tinkering with my solo RPG pipeline. Implementing a more rigid structure has definitely been something that I've been trying out lately, and this video is really educational and inspiring in that regard. I will definitely try something to this effect in my games. Keep up the great work, Mel!
I like the way you think. I could never get into oracles. Trying to make the Oracle result fit into my story is too much work for my brain . You might want to check out 5150 New Beginnings by Two Hour Wargames. It's designed for solo and uses similar concepts by using tables to advance the game.
I just want to say I really enjoy your channel and the content. Thank you for finding such awesome adventures and taking the time to share them with us.
Hi there, as a boardgame and ttrpg lover this is great to see it combo. My favorite boardgame is Robinson Crusoe a boardgame that in the end you get a storie for what happen during the play. There another game called Roll Camera that you are the director of a movie with the intention of making a good movie or one so bad that is good for that. You will be creating your Studio and deciding the actions where to add People to diferent roles etc. And you need to film parts of the movie at time. In the end you have like X number of parts filmed and your movie will be about that. Im talking about this one becouse as an extra you can tell what your movie is all about by the scenes you decided to film. Boardgame and ttrpg can mix well together, we can look at Kingdoms Death. At the acampment face you can Roll play that. Ohhh btw, maybe a turn counter on the sheet on the tip or bottom of the Page may improve?
Thanks a lot! I need to check into Robinson Crusoe, heard so many good things about it. Haven't heard of Roll Camera, will check that out! For the turn counter, I am currently using the top left section (Gameplay mode) to put down tokens or a D20 indicating days past. But I may put add something specifically to indicate that as well :)
This is awesome, I've been looking for something like this for quite a while. I'll likely use this to influence something for my game of choice if that's cool? Would love to see you run through the RPG variant that you mention.
For Fallen RPG, It is available on Perplexing Ruins shop page! perplexingruinsshop.bigcartel.com/ For Shadows of Hilgraab, it is Print and Play only but you can find it on Itch io for fre
While not Lovecraftian, Vaesen RPG from Free League takes place in a city and is about Nordic Horror investigation . It is also quite Solo friendly as it is part of the Year Zero Engine line!

Absolutely loved the video! It’s a really fascinating way to play a solo rpg and it looks like a really fun process too.

05:36 Is there anything similar out there with a Lovecraftian / cosmic horror theme, or something mixing weird fiction & investigation?

What about the City Under Pressure table? You didn't use it in your demonstration.
Hi Captain Nolan, I have got the chance to use it during the RPG mode gameplay video at 20:18

Any suggestions for games that don't have such a highly-detailed map? Thanks in advance.
