The most scenic island in Greece - Nisyros

- In this long summer in the Greece I have discovered Nisyros, the most scenic of all the Greek Islands (neck to neck with Santorini ;) but without the crowd).
Beaches of all colours, including turquoise blue, an amazing caldera right in the centre of the island. A picturesque village with a unique monastery and an old castle right on top of a cliff and so much more to explore!
My top 3 suggested accommodations in Nisyros:
🥇 Porfyris Hotel: great location in Mandraki, close to the sea, the restaurants and the harbour. It is a simple budget Nisyros accommodation, clean and with an outdoor pool too. A real bargain.

🥈 Plousiadi΄s Stone House (2BR): a lovely characteristic house with plenty of place, located in the quiet fishing village of Pali right by the water.

🥉 Pyrgos Stone House (1Br or 2BR): recently renovated to its glorious past, this is the perfect spot if you are looking for seclusion and relaxation.

The last eruption was actually in 1888. I've visited this island and its volcano as a kid and I loved it! Always remember the terrible smell of rotten eggs from the sulfur. Great video :)

I moved to NYSIROS when i was a year and half old . left when i was 9 years old and came back to the states . Been back in 1973 , 1977 , 1984 , and 1994 when my Mom passed and wanted to be buried there .In Mandraki , the island has changed but the roads and the buildings still the same.

Hi, nice video. How to get there from Kos? I want to rent a car and stay outside overnight to do astrophotography, but it seems to me that there is very little info on the ferries. Thank You!
That's a great idea. There are plenty of day trippers from Kos. I arrived from the other side, Rhodes. If you couldn't find a ferry, then you can get one of these organised trips and go back the next day. There are rentals at the Port but book in advance your car. Availability is poor
