We were in Ragusa for New Years Eve 2024~2025 . Very in advance , we booked a room at Itrea hotel , what a nightmare !!!
They gave us a room located outside the main building( 6 minutes away ) , the room was very dirty and also outside around the front door very unsanitary .

About to do a 4 night trip (Feb 5-9) to southeast Sicily. Renting a car and will stay in two very nice airbnbs. First two nights in Catania (flying in after a 2 week business trip from Florence) and then the final 2 nights in Regusa. Do you think those are the best cities to base myself in for a 2 night and 2 night split? By the way I’ve already visited Palermo-Cefalu-Taormina on a summer trip 2 years ago! I tried to pick city bases which weren’t too sleepy with good food & views from the Airbnbs…and in between all these stops!

Sounds like a good plan for 4 days, if you’ve already seen Taormina, you could take off a bit earlier from Catania and spend an extra half day in the Ragusa area. I liked that area a bit more as there are more towns like Modica in close proximity.

Now that you told us about the quieter chocolate shop, it will be over run by foodies and influencers!!

You got a point! I like to give a shout out to small businesses like this but it’s a double edged sword.
