Home Free is an a cappella vocal band, they are called the ONLY Country a cappella band, however they can sing any genre. They won the Sing Off Season 4 in 2013, the year after Pentatonix. They sing both covers & originals, in fact their last album "So Long Dixie" which was released in Nov 2022, has 12 of the 14 tracks on it are originals written by Tim Foust their bass, &/or Austin Brown their high tenor who had the lead on this song. This band started in 2001 & really took off after the Sing Off. Enjoyed your reaction to my favorite guy's, & if you continue down the Home Free rabbit hole which has 200+ videos, I promise the HF fans called the Home Fries will flock to your channel, there's nothing we like better than to watch people react to them. Btw, this was shot during Covid, so Austin was the only one actually in the studio. 🍟❤️
Home Free fans (Home Fries) like to say that Home Free does upgrades instead of covers! This song was done during Covid so they were not in the same location, hence the monitors.

This was one of their videos done during the quarantine (usually released every other Friday for awhile) so each of the guys were in a small studio space in their own homes. Except for Austin who was in an actual studio with whoever was on the sound board, and his wonderful lady Amberly. And, dude, you better have plenty of food at the cookout. Three of them are southern boys who know their way around burgers & barbecue, and Tim is an admitted foodie.
Great Reaction!! Welcome to Home Free rabbit hole. The group started in 2001 by brothers Chris and Adam Rupp They are the only country A Capella ( all vocals no instruments)group but they can honestly sing any genre and they do They won The Sing Off season 4 2013 that's where they became very popular. Fans of Home Free are known as Home Fries and are very loyal to the guys. Adam Rupp: Beatboxer Extraordinaire -Tenor can make any sound imaginable (A whole drum kit, harmonica (his Nomonica we call it )plane flyovers, trains, castanets, bugs ,birds etc).Co founder from Mankato Minnesota. Rob Lundquist :Lead tenor(beard and glasses) very soulful voice from Minneapolis,Minnesota Tim Foust :Bass (had long dark hair now short with grey ) 5+ octave range can go so low he blows speakers or sky high from Nederland,Texas Austin.Brown:High Tenor ( Long wavy hair ) voice of an angel from Tifton Georgia. Adam Chance(Aka Chance):Baritone/Bass deep, rich voice(Does the juice harp sound in Man Of Constant Sorrow) has short dark hair short beard from Baldwin County,Alabama.Replaced Chris Rupp ( Adams Brother and co founder in 2016) They have collaborated with many singers and legends Don McLean:American Pie Oak Ridge Boys:Elvira Kenny Rodgers:Children Go Where I Send Thee (Please watch the end message) Billy Gilman:One Voice Alabama:Christmas In Dixie Mark Wills:Don’t Laugh At Me ( important message at the end ) Lee Greenwood & US Airforce Band:God Bless The USA Brooke Eden:Delta Dawn Any many more. They are just funny, down to earth, humble nice guys. They are the best A Cappella group there is Sorry for the long read
Welcome to the fabulous world of Home Free! Austin did a fabulous job of this classic song. Loved Percy Sledge's version, but this was taken to another level. I think it is also better than Michael Bolton's version. And remember this was done during quarantine, so the guys weren't even together. The backing harmonies are great, along with Tim's bass. And Adam's vocal percussion is outstanding. Drummers have often commented on just how realistic his sound is. This is why these guys are my favorite a cappella group.
Wait til you react to their cover of End of the Road. You'll feel a higher level of soul. And their cover of Love Train will take you back to the days of Soul Train...yeah, I'm that old, lol.
I just subscribed in hopes to hear more Home Free. They did a wonderful version of End of the Road and Listen to the Music. They have also done perfect 5 part harmony in a song called Helplessly Hoping. Please react. 😁
Oh, the fabulous HF rabbit hole is deep. And well worth it :-) "Try Everything," "End of the Road," "Helplessly Hoping," "Brothers in Arms," etc., etc., etc.
Austin (lead) and Adam (beatboxer) killed it. This was during Covid so I thought the use of tvs was clever. They are a cappella. They are an incredible band. All take the lead depending on the song and all can beatbox to a degree. They sing covers but also write and sing their own songs. Chance just wrote a new song for a pirate game called Skull & Bones which is incredible. 🤩
Subscribed. Let's explore Home Free and more a cappella. These guys know a good cookout, I can guarantee that. Home Fries (the fans of Home Free) are more than happy to share all they know about these guys.😊
Yes, they do a lot of covers (or would that be upgrades?) but they also have a lot of wonderful original songs out there too. Austin and Tim did a good amount of song writing while stuck at home during the quarantine, many of which showed up in their album So Long Dixie. Three of Austin's songs there produced the Stargazer Trilogy, chronicling his feelings when one relationship ended and finding his current wonderful lady. (I make no secret of my adoration of her and my joy of seeing them together in vids.) That's Give Me a Sign, Stargazer Lilies (my fave by far), and MR. He also wrote 2 songs which he sings in many scenarios on his tiktok channel, usually around the house with her in the background doing chores: Everlasting Ground and Hers Ain't Mine. The second one is funny and they're both loving and sweet. Chance recently wrote a song for some pirate video game I know nothing about (ain't my thing) called Skull and Bones. There's a lyric video with scenes from the game and a shorter one where they debuted the song. Also check out Champagne Taste on a Beer Budget and its sequel Full of Cheer, both written by Tim Foust. I think is was Austin that wrote Cold Hard Cash. You don't have to wait for Christmas for those last two.
Lead singer here AUSTIN BROWN has his own channel He has originals that have reached #1, & covers from Stevie Wonder, Al Greene, Bieber, Etta James, & Otis Redding, Ray Charles & many more But his “Unchained Melody” has reached over 12M in a very short amount of time. Thank you for taking the time for Home Free, I hope you check out Austin’s music
Every one of these guys can SANG! you need to go down the rabbit hole and hear them all..... They may be just harmonizing for Austin in this one but Austin harmonizes for each of them also. Depending on the song, any one of these guys can take the lead and kill it! Looking forward to you reacting to more home free and joining us fans... the Home Fries!
Austin nailed it. He gives himself completely here and also plays very well with the cameras. The great harmonies, deep bass and the unbelievably freaking good beatboxing/vocal percussion/vocal sounds finish it all off for me. I think it sounds perfect because of all the different beautiful voices. I grew up performing Percy Sledge which I already loved. Then came Michael Bolton's performance where I couldn't say it was better. But this one from Home Free certainly is.
A few people have redone that song. But nothing can even come close to it as the original by Percy Sledge. I’m 57 and grew up listening to the original. The soul and emotion he put into singing that song can never be duplicated.
Correction: Pentatonix won season 3 of the Sing-Off in 2011 and Home Free won season 4 in 2013. VoicePlay made it about halfway through the competition in season 4 before being voted out. The three groups are good friends and have collaborated between each other in various capacities many times.
They have hundreds of songs in their catalog, all good. A few favorites are End Of The Road, Man Of Constant Sorrow, Take Me Home Country Roads. Pick your favorites and enjoy.
Austin killed this. They are all acapella. Every sound you hear comes from their mouths. Welcome to the Home Free Rabbit hole. They have so many songs. You should check out their cover of Boyz II Men End of The Road. The original artist Percy Sledge would be so very proud! Love your reaction!
It's one of the best songs you will ever hear in your life. Take it from somebody who listens to every genre of music from the 1920s to the present. Enjoy! XO #NYGenXBIKERLady
The lead singer here is Austin Brown, the high tenor of Home Free. He has his own UA-cam channel where he has mostly solo work with accompaniment from piano or guitar. I would highly recommend his versions of Unchained Melody and Bring Him Home. There is also a video of him and the other tenor, Rob Lundquist signing the opera aria Nessun Dorma. Home Free and it's individual members can and do do anything and everything.
One of the many marvelous things about Home Free is the respect they show the songs they cover while making them truly their own. They vote on who should be the lead in each song they perform. Their talents are out of this world, no matter which genre they do they nail it. Their originals are amazing also. For a little taste of their versatility may I suggest "Brothers in Arms" a Dire Straits cover, for a taste of country "Oh Brother Where Art Thou" from the movie of the same name, for a good giggle "The Butts Remix", for amazement "The End of The Road" a Boyz to Men cover and last but never least "In The Blood" a John Meyer cover. So many to choose from so little time. Looking forward to your Home Free journey!
Austin has his own channel where he has a number of covers and originals, and on some he does the harmonies. He has a lovely voice. But all of the guys are fantastic. Rob (tenor, the guy with "the beard") is lead on End of the Road which I think you would enjoy; each of them takes lead in various songs. Enjoy the ride.
An Acapella group like this comes around once in a lifetime and these guys are it.. Get to know each and every one of them it's insane what these five gentleman can do..🏡🆓🏡🍟
What I mean is it's the same song because of the lyrics and the melody. It's just a different version because of the artist. And each artist has their own personal sound/style. And I did imply that I like their sound because I said that I wanted to hear more from them. Acapella is beautiful, and their voices together are awesome! I wish I could sing like that.
Ring of Fire Ft Avi Kaplan, End of the Road, In the Blood, Brothers in Arms, Mayday, Misty Mountain cover by Peter Hollens ft Tim Foust is a must. These should get you started.
PTX has nothing on Home Free! With 14 albums and over 140 videos of vocal perfection for your enjoyment! I have a couple request for Home Free. Home Free-"END OF THE ROAD" Boys II men cover, and Home Free-"MAN OF CONSTANT SORROW". peace
Go down the rabbit hole you won’t be disappointed. Doesn’t matter who leads or if it’s a cover or original they give their unique style to each song they do! I see a Home Fry in the making
Great reaction 🎉 and yes, you can borrow the jacket! I'll sub for more Home Free, please. Try their "Unchained Melody" and "Ring of Fire" covers if you wanna hear a couple classics re-done and more of the angel voice of Austin. Yes, it's like Pentatonix, but not really. No instruments, all voices only. Fun rabbit hole. Welcome to the deep dive!
Austin sings solo on his UA-cam channel (started during quarantine) and sings Unchained Melody with just a bit of guitar. His voice alone. He also sings Etta James’ At Last in the same key as Ms. James
I always loved the late Percy Sledge's 1966 original and I think he would have approved of Home Free's cover. The writer of the song had just had a bad break-up and wrote "I gave you everything I had"; Austin's lady Amberly was in the studio (that's who he's actually looking at) and he sings "I'll give you everything I've got". A slight but significant change. Thanks for playing this - love from Canada.
BTW, they each have channel(s) of their own. Austin Brown (lead on this) has original songs on his channel ("Earn It", "Off the Grid", "Real Talk" & "If I Met You Now" among them). You're welcome!
Love this reaction. Hope you go down the rabbit hole. They have so many great covers. Man of Constant Sorrow. End of the Road. Funny stuff like the Butts Remix & All About the Bass. & one of my favorites for pure country fun Hillbilly Bone. You got a subscriber!
Welcome to Home Free!! lol Great reaction. You need to do more reaction videos.. I suggest How Great Thou Art to start and there are so many more for you to explore. Carrie
If you reach out to Austin Brown, the lead singer of this song, he'll come to your backyard, and sing for your family, and a group of your friends! He and Tim Foust, the bass singer of the group, have had these backyard gatherings for a couple of years!
Home Free is the ultimate vocal band around! Pentatonix and VoicePlay are the other top ranking groups currently. PTX is basically pop and VoicePlay is more theatrical...both groups have had some changes in the group. HF was started 2000 by Adam Rupp and his brother, Chris. Chris left in 2016 for other pursuits and Chance joined. During quarantine they released two videos every month and they were fantastic. This video is one of those... they also did Folsom Prison Blues and Gambler which are both great. For a real mind-blowing experience, there's Two Country Singers Try Singing Opera! MUST SEE!
Wouldn't that be the BOMB if he or they showed up (unbeknownst to you) to a BBQ?!?!?! Yeah, this is certainly one of those performances where the ending get that kind of reaction 👍
As has been said before each individual brings their own unique talents to a song. If you really want to experience something unique then sample the bass, Tim Foust, who has a five octave range and listen to when he goes high. Just incredible. Or when Rob and Austin sing opera, Nessun Dorma ...
Just subbed and waiting for more Home Free, there's plenty of videos to choose from, most start with Man of Constant Sorrow but you'd probably not find one you don't like 🏴
Talking about singing a song by yourself... Tim has an album of do-wop songs in which he sings all the harmonies...he has nearly a six octave range, so these are spectacular. Check out Stay/Will You Still Love Me for one and Beach Boys' In My Room
Austin Brown, the lead…has his own solo channel….&, has some really Amazing videos ….. he’s sooooo gooood ….what a voice 💗❣️🎵🎶🎵❣️💗….oh, do “BRING HIM HOME”….from Les Miserables….he Kills it….the end will amaze you❣️🫶🏼❣️‼️.,,,&, then “TWO COUNTRY BOYS TRY TO SING OPERA”…..”NESSUN DORMA”from Puccini’s …”TAURANDOT”…..WOWZA 😵💫😳🫶🏼‼️ The Home Free rabbit hole is one fun trip…..WELCOME‼️…….Us fans are called Home Fries🙃🫶🏼‼️. There are 220+ videos here on UA-cam….All genres 🎵🎶🎵🫶🏼‼️
Austin - the lead in this song - does have such a smooth voice and can hit those high notes like they're nothing. I'm a bass girl tho and Tim makes me melt sometimes. But the shocker of all time is Adam, the beatboxer. Yes there's no sound that that man can't duplicate and you wouldn't be able to tell the difference between him and the actual sound. But when he's given the chance to sing, talk about pure gold!!! So crystal clear that it's a shame he doesn't do more singing, but then again the guys would loose out of his true God given talent as a beat boxer. Just for kicks and giggles, check out "Champagne Taste On A Beer Budget". Tim wrote that one and it was actually one he did to get his boss off his back and he did it as a goof thinking it would flop and instead it's killer funny. The vid has Chris Rupp in it instead of Adam Chance - who just goes by Chance. Chris & Adam Rupp are the founding members of the group and they added Tim, Austin & Robb and they just took off. Chris stopped performing a few years into their professional/recording career and Chance was added to the group. Each one of the guys tho can do the beat boxing or something similar to it that adds another level to their talent. All the guys have their own thing they do, Tim being the one to give you the biggest shock of your life tho. Once you've got a few of their songs under your belt, you'll be a hooked good and proper Home Fry. Welcome to the club!!
These guys are the Premier a cappella group...have become a fan since I discovered these guys in the middle of quarantine. Pentatonix is more pop, VoicePlay is a theatrical group and really good; both have had some member changes in recent times. Home Free had their last change in 2016 when their cofounder Chris Rupp left the group to follow other pursuits. Chance has become a valuable asset to the group.
Cook out? Don't forget Auntie Fay Fay and Auntie Geraldine's competing potato salad challenge. To pickle or not to pickle, that is the question and you are the judge.😳
I'll check back and if you've fallen down the HF rabbit hole (it's a fun and fabulous place to explore) I'll happily subscribe. You'll find Home does EVERY genre instead of just pop or modern like most a cappella groups.
Sorry for the long read
Check out Austin Brown music, the lead singer here. He is utterly remarkable
Welcome to the fabulous world of Home Free! Austin did a fabulous job of this classic song. Loved Percy Sledge's version, but this was taken to another level. I could have sworn those were actual drums. But, man, that was awesome acapella drums, Adam! 🥁

Their cover of End of the Road is excellent. Thanks for your reaction!
They all take lead depending on the song. They pick the best member for each song.
I believe with all of my heart, that Percy Sledge, would give his seal of approval 💖💖💖 *RIP Percy Sledge* 💖💖💖
Every single member of Home Free could have a solo career but choose to remain they are ALL great singers.
I've got in a habit of watching Home Free and Larry Bird on the regular. Lol, now I've seen you do both. Subscribed
Same here 😊
Oh, the fabulous HF rabbit hole is deep. And well worth it :-) "Try Everything," "End of the Road," "Helplessly Hoping," "Brothers in Arms," etc., etc., etc.
I loved your reaction! More Home Free Please!

Austin's next love song comes out tomorrow - Everything.

You have the wrong years. PTX won season 3, Home Free season 4. A true fan would know that.
Love the group, the song, your reaction
Aren’t they the best?!?! ❤. Please play more Home Free please! Check out End of the Road. They kill that one. Thank you. I enjoyed your reaction.

WOW... Home Free is AMAZING Austin is singing with so much soul and every fiber of his being, the (band) sounds INCREDIBLE.
A Home Fee newbie? I'm in. I just subscribed so i can watch you enjoy the journey.
You can tell it's the same as the Michael Bolton version, but what an awesome acapella version this is! I want more of them! 😃
I agree. (Though people have insisted it is not the same)
🤣✌🏽
The difference is in tone. Bolton sounds so bad-tempered and resentful, not to say constipated that it's positively unpleasant to listen to.
@@patriciamcl54 Personally, I don’t hear that, but personal preference is 100% ok. 🙂✌🏽- 🏠🍟
@@rachellindsey4212 ✌🏽♥️🏠🍟
I do like Percy Sledge but I really love this
Ring of Fire Ft Avi Kaplan, End of the Road, In the Blood, Brothers in Arms, Mayday, Misty Mountain cover by Peter Hollens ft Tim Foust is a must. These should get you started.
PTX has nothing on Home Free!
With 14 albums and over 140 videos of vocal perfection for your enjoyment! I have a couple request for Home Free.
Home Free-"END OF THE ROAD" Boys II men cover, and Home Free-"MAN OF CONSTANT SORROW".
peace
They are a cappella and they all sing…even the beatboxer.. wait till you hear some other songs. They are amazing !
Must listen to Oh Holy Night and Mary Did You Know both are the absolute best versions of these songs I’ve ever heard! Makes me cry it’s so beautiful!
Bro, You have got to give Home Free How great thou art a listen. If it doesn't move you, you aren't alive.
They are mostly country a cappella but they can do all genres.
WHAT ?!? Steady, Bubba ! NO THEY ARE VERY MUCH NEEDED as a group so incredible
Get ready to be blown away! Original by Percy Sledge! Love this vocal band ❤️
Love, Love, Love your reaction!!!
MUST SEE!
One of my favorite songs 😍 Their version is really amazing.
Wouldn't that be the BOMB if he or they showed up (unbeknownst to you) to a BBQ?!?!?!
Yeah, this is certainly one of those performances where the ending get that kind of reaction 👍
You should listen to many Home Free songs. Find one where the beat boxer does the air harmonica. they have so many great songs.
New sub here! I’m a Home Fry and you just reacted to the best accapella group ever! I’m here for your reactions! More Home Free!
Check “Land of the Free” and “Everybody Walkin This Land”
Great song, great cover, great band…great reaction!!
Keep on keeping on, young Gentleman. You are spot on.
As has been said before each individual brings their own unique talents to a song. If you really want to experience something unique then sample the bass, Tim Foust, who has a five octave range and listen to when he goes high. Just incredible. Or when Rob and Austin sing opera, Nessun Dorma ...
❤Home Free
Just subbed and waiting for more Home Free, there's plenty of videos to choose from, most start with Man of Constant Sorrow but you'd probably not find one you don't like 🏴
This song was made for Austin. These boys are amazing
These boys can sing any genre. CK out Man of Constant Sorrow.❤❤❤
Another group that is great at transforming songs and making them their own is UB40. Red, Red Wine, and any song from their Labor of Love II album.
Talking about singing a song by yourself... Tim has an album of do-wop songs in which he sings all the harmonies...he has nearly a six octave range, so these are spectacular. Check out Stay/Will You Still Love Me for one and Beach Boys' In My Room
Love this version! Percy Sledge's is hard to beat.
Home Free is 🔥🔥🔥 great reaction ❤
Austin Brown, the lead…has his own solo channel….&, has some really Amazing videos ….. he’s sooooo gooood ….what a voice 💗❣️🎵🎶🎵❣️💗….oh, do “BRING HIM HOME”….from Les Miserables….he Kills it….the end will amaze you❣️🫶🏼❣️‼️.,,,&, then “TWO COUNTRY BOYS TRY TO SING OPERA”…..”NESSUN DORMA”from Puccini’s …”TAURANDOT”…..WOWZA 😵💫😳🫶🏼‼️
The Home Free rabbit hole is one fun trip…..WELCOME‼️…….Us fans are called Home Fries🙃🫶🏼‼️.
Go back go back I'm not done it's what we say at the end of every Home Free song!
If you want to see one of their really fun ones listen to The butts medley
Got to give Man of Constant Sorrow a listen!
Austin Brown has done some solo performances including this song. He does a wonderful version of At Last by Etta James. You should give them a listen!
Love your reactions! Keep it going.
He out does the original, i absolutely love his voice!
Great reaction. 🤠HF is 🔥💯 amazing ❤️
Austin Brown has some amazing solo vids.
Austin has his own channel just full of his fantastic voice. Check out his Al Green, or Dobie Gray or Eric Clapton covers.
They are 5 fingers of one, hit you in the emotions, fist.
this was a quarantine video corona yo know :) still a insane video. his girlfriend was in the booth there thats why there is a real feel.
You invited him to the cookout before his falsetto 😂❤
Try their Crawfish Boil if you want to go to a cookout with them.
Wait what? They host something??
Need to watch Adam Rupp from Home Free. 7 minute drum solo
❤❤🔥🔥
This was filmed during the COVID shutdowns. In order to keep everyone safe, and to obey the law, they filmed this in remote sessions.
This version would make Percy Sledge smile.
