I get so tickled when reactors hear Home Free and are instantly hooked. Home Free has 200+ UA-cam videos. During the country's lock down, Home Free released new videos each month. They would each film from their homes (or other isolated locations) using their cell phones. They helped keep us Home Fries sane during the pandemic. They've released a new album "Lock Down" of their quarantine songs. They have several humorous videos, concerts, from the vault (behind-the-scenes), story time with Tim, collaborations with Peter Hollens. Tim Foust, Austin Brown and Adam Chance each have independent UA-cam channels. Misty Mountains, Brothers in Arms, Helplessly Hoping, How Great Thou Art, Amazing Grace, among others, are mesmerizing. Enjoy the journey!
LOVED your reaction, Greg! This is THE BEST a cappella group...PERIOD! They found each other! This group was started in 2000 by 2 brothers from Minnesota, Chris Rupp (left for a solo career in 2016 so he'll be in all the videos BEFORE 2016) & the current vocal percussionist, Adam Rupp, who can sound like anything he wants to imitate)! Adam is a 2 time beat boxing champion & we're not sure he's really human!👽 Adam Chance (called "Chance" to avoid confusion with having 2 Adams) replaced Chris Rupp & he's from the sticks of southern Alabama. Taking the lead on this song is smooth tenor Rob Lundquist, also from Minnesota. We call him "Gospel Rob"! Their basso profundo, Tim Foust, has a 5+ octave from the depths of "you know where" to high tenor (had long dark hair here but he now has short hair). Finally, Austin Brown, high tenor, who's been with them since 2012 & they found him singing on a cruise ship. He's from south Georgia & he's indescribable! They don't have a "lead singer". They choose the best one for each song. They're not only incredibly talented, they're humble, kind, generous & hysterically funny! Their arrangements are perfection even when they're being their fun, goofy selves! Welcome to the Home Free rabbit hole! I subscribed for more Home Free! 😊
I was looking through the comments to see if anyone had broken the group down any, and see they have. Would like to add that just bc u hear them do one thing doesn’t mean they can’t do another. Like to No-Monica that Rupp does, I have seen Austin do live. Chance take over bass and go low when Tim does something else. All 5 can beatbox. Just these guys are super talented.
@@jasonwalker8324 I always tell peopple that this is a group of 5 guys with 5 Tenors 3 Basses 3 Baritones 4 Beatboxers and 1 FREAK OF NATURE Vocal Percussionist/Beatboxer/Alien LOL some say i´m crazy but i just tell them to prove me wrong
The "perfect group" took awhile to achieve. I think sheer luck and great timing was what did it. Lol I have been a Home Fry for years and it still amazes me how beautifully such varied voices and timbres fit like a glove! ❤ Please do "When a Man Loves a Woman"! Prepare to have your mind blown! 🤯😳
When they were on the NBC show the Sing Off (they won in 2013) Shawn Stockman of Boyz II Men was a judge and he loved them. I think they wanted to do right by him. Rob (lead here) killed it and they are all so good. Those harmonies are great.
The only reason I clicked on your channel is because I wanted to see your reaction to Home Free. They are the real deal and now I have subscribed to your channel and wish you nothing but goodness man.
These guys do an amazing job of this song! They can do any genre including R&B. Rob's voice has so much feeling & soul in it. Austin adding his higher tones, Chance harmonizing in the back, Tim adding some bass & Adam with his fabulous vocal percussion. These guys are my favorite a cappella group out there. All their songs are good whether it is serious, heart warming or funny. "Take Me Home Country Roads", "In The Blood", "Hillbilly Bone", "American Pie", "Blue Ain't Your Color", "One Man Band", "Helplessly Hoping", "Seven Bridges Road", "How Great Thou Art", "Elvira", "Butt's Remix", "Ring Of Fire", "When A Man Loves A Woman", "Sea Shanty Medley", "Meet In The Middle", "Honey I'm Good" etc.
These guys have the richest harmonies I have ever heard in a band. Every note absolutely perfect and clear. I love that the group doesn't have a set lead singer. It's whoever's voice fits the song best that sings. And the background music is phenomenal. Another great reaction, thank you!
@@michelledorning9404 Rob and Austin are the lead singers. What the other guys do is called background music or background sound. The beatboxing is also part of the background music, of course.
I used to listen to this Boyz II Men song so many times. Home Free puts its own twist on it while keeping the respect for the original, so now it's the turn of this version. Rob killed it. There is so much soul in his voice. Beautiful!!! But I know that without the other members it would never have sounded so perfect. But that is precisely what Home Free is the number 1 A-Cappella group for me. One by one, everyone has an important contribution. Everyone has their own specialty. And then the glue of the group Adam with his unbelievably inhuman beatboxing/vocal percussion/mouth sounds. Although it is of course even if it is a song without beatboxing it sounds great because of the great background vocals.
Welcome to the land of Home Free! You are officially a Home Fry!!! Adam Rupp (beatboxer extraordinaire, regarded in some circles as the best beatboxer out there) and his brother, Chris Rupp, were among the original members of Home Free, formed in 2001. In 2010, Tim Foust, singer/songwriter and native Texan, toured with Home Free as a guest voice until 2012 when he became the full-time mind - and speaker - blowing bass. All five members of Home Free have backgrounds in musical training. The Rupp Brothers and Adam Lunquist all have BAs in music. Welcome to the wonderful world of Home Free! Just in case no one has told you, the current members are: Austin Brown (high tenor in the blue and gold jacket), Rob Lundquist (tenor in the tan jacket), Adam Chance (baritone, between Rob and Austin. He also takes over the bass line when Tim is singing lead.), Tim Foust (bass with a 5+ octave range) and Adam Rupp (world class beat-boxing phenomenon). Adam Rupp and his brother Chris started the group, but Chris eventually decided to further his solo career, so Adam Chance was recruited. To fully appreciate Tim's vocal range, check out his version of "Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow/Stay." It will knock your socks into next week.
Baritone is between tenor and bass -- Chance's range is between Rob and Tim. When Adam *Rupp* sings, he's the one that's between Austin and Rob, since he's a tenor.

Greg in a little history of Home Free. Enjoy...I have been following them for years as our quartet learned to pace ourselves and blend and listen to each other which has made our quartet a better quartet and better persons in the long end. Home Free was originally formed in January 2001 by Chris Rupp in Mankato, Minnesota, when some of its members were still in their teens. The five founding members were brothers Chris and Adam Rupp, Matt Atwood, Darren Scruggs, and Dan Lemke. They took their name from a boat owned by Atwood's grandfather who helped support the group financially in their early years. The group began as a hobby for the singers, but they gradually grew in experience and popularity. By 2007 they had enough of a following to pursue music full-time. During this period, the Rupp brothers and Atwood formed the core of the group, with Atwood singing lead tenor. Other members of the group came and went. Current member Rob Lundquist, another Minnesotan, joined in 2008. Now you know the rest of the story. Enjoy their music....
I absolutely love homefree!!! My husband took me to a concert for our anniversary last year and I was floored. Tim's bass voice shook the rafters all the way to the back of the building. It was amazing ❤️❤️❤️

Magical! Thank you for backing up, love it! They found Austin on a cruise ship doing Shakespeare! They began in Minnesota, I am too! Rob and Adam from here too!
I love this group, too. So many of their songs give so many feels, but the one that stands out for me is Helplessly Hoping. The harmonies in that one are superb.

Home Free is an American country a cappella group of five vocalists: Austin Brown, Rob Lundquist, Adam Rupp, Tim Foust, and Adam Chance. Starting as a show group, they toured with approximately 200 shows a year across the United States. The group won the fourth season of The Sing-Off on NBC in 2013. They sang an arrangement of Hunter Hayes' "I Want Crazy" as their final competitive song, earning the group $100,000 and a recording contract with Sony. The band released their first major label album, Crazy Life, in February 2014.[4] Their most recent album, So Long Dixie, was released in November 2022.

Hey Greg, I LOVE your reaction vids - and I also love "Home Free", one of the BEST, most talented groups I've ever heard! 🥰They're a true shining jewel among the midst of so many sound-alike, same-ol' vocalists and groups - y'know what I mean? So keep it going, man - you're alright in my book! May God bless you! 😊
I have never met anyone who does not become a Home Frie from the very first time they hear these guys no matter what song they sing. They are perfectionist on every song they do.
Saw them recently in concert and they sound exactly in person as they do on their records and on their videos. Plus they are so funny. The time flew by. Since 2 of the members live in Minnesota I cannot wait for them to come back.
All of these guys came from different talent shows and someone brought them all together. I've seen the guy with the glasses in 'amer. got talent' and the deep voice gent in 'another type of group talent show. They are all legit and weren't that aware of eachother.
Boyz II Men are so proud of these boys how they did this song they did this to perfection.. They kept true to their self and their style...God bless these boys...Shawn from Boyz II Men are good friends with them..🏡🆓🏡🍟
HF may be country, but they have heart and they bring the old school back to life. They are funny, family friendly good old boys who always bring it to everything they do. From the old doo wap songs to timeless classics. They make you laugh, cry, fall in love, and remember the man upstairs. Thank you for your great reaction!
I agree. This is a song I grew up with. Would have pissed me off if they didn't nail it. They took it to another level without disrespecting where it came from. Perfect.

You are now officially a Home Fry! They are so very awesome! Love your reaction!

Their skill level is beyond ridiculous. They are rhst damn good
I love this group, too.

They are PERFECTION.
Rob is my favorite. He won me over on my reaction to this same song. Now I love em all the same.
I just found you today and I've been binge watching you with Home free. I agree with everything you said about them! This old Vet would like to thank you for sporting the American flag. I have a TON of respect for you. I heard you invoke the name of Jesus. Its nice to hear a young guy in prayer. I'm proud of you. I'm a follower as of right now.
I just love your energy an enthusiasm your appreciation to what your listening to just makes anyone listening smile. Thx
You got that right! Chills..and that stank face... their studio versions of songs are the bomb.
Fun when you see dedicated and live stuff as well.
I have never met anyone who does not become a Home Frie from the very first time they hear these guys no matter what song they sing. They are perfectionist on every song they do.
Miss the instruments? Me neither. Adam is phenomenal. They all are!
I LOVE that you just Get It!!! Not to many do, but you do. Can't wait to see more reactions from.
Amazing. Loved your reaction. Thx for sharing ♥.
Wasn't that fantastic?? 😍😍
Home Free can do anything!
Great reaction ❤️❤️
Beautiful! Never heard their version 👏🏻
Thanks ❤️
I remember watching them on the show the Sing off.
Would definitely love to see them do this with Boyz to Men
Saw them recently in concert and they sound exactly in person as they do on their records and on their videos.
Perfect.
