@@margotfaubion7662 - My pleasure. I can’t wait to see results from the other early main crop figs I am planting. I ate five Campaniere figs yesterday on 9/1. They were such a treat. I see Brown Sugar Crunch coloring in ground as well. Potted Mt. Etnas are swelling as well. Great time for us figsters!!!
Nice update. Looking forward to your coverage as each of your main crops ripens. Curious to hear what's best for you this year as the season progresses
@@elihart5951 - I have quite a few in pots that are later figs. Switching to early main crop and Breba crop in ground with the emphasis on Breba in ground.
Looks good to me my super early figs that always ripen first is michurinska -10 aka florea, followed by improved celeste in the first week of august, then in the second week of august campaniere, iranian candy and rdb come into play. And many others after that😇
@@Khalinjai - My Iranian Candy died back to the ground and is coming back nicely. The tree always struggled and made terrible figs. I can’t wait to try them now that my tree is healthy. I have a really nice RDB in the second year that gets planted in ground along with De Tres Esplets next spring as well. Trying to add more early varieties in ground.
Its amazing when a tree grows back very healthy, i'm sure you'll enjoy iranian candy and early varities is where its at for my climate for inground, in pots i can manage mid/late season varities because of the greenhouse. Des tres esplets seems like a nice variety to have inground i'm getting some cuttings of that one in december.
Zone 8b. We start forming figlets much later than lower zones with warmer nighttime temperatures. All about heat when it comes to getting figlets to form.
Do your desert kings produce main crop at all? Now that I'm fairly sure ours is DK, I'm reading up on it more. But multiple sources claim that DK needs fig wasps and a caprifig in order to get a main crop. Have you experienced this?
@@joshuahoyer1279 - My DK has never ripened main crop. You are correct we do not have the fig wasp in Oregon. Sometimes people get a small % to ripen without the wasp. They do not look very good!
@@oregonfigs3314 Rats! Well I guess that changes my pruning goals then. The brebas were delicious! But since I had hoped for main crop, I cut the branches back quite a bit, so we had about 20-25 brebas from our tree. It's so weird that one fruit is fine, but the later one is so particular. What variety would you recommend for reliable main crop in our neck of the woods? We are out in Sublimity, so I'm guessing identical growing conditions that you have.
@@joshuahoyer1279 - I like any Breba producer. LDA produces a wonder large Breba and we get most of the main crop as well. Are you on PNW figs fb group?
Thanks, Chris, glad to confirm early ripening.

@@stevegrant4543 My buddy says they taste tropical and I kinda get that!

Beautiful fig tree! I'm guessing it will still be too cool here to get a main crop to ripen outdoors.
I've got a super small plant, so will be testing it outside in the south east uk, so perhaps you could test it outside in future years 🌿🙌
@@hopeitgrows2892 It's not one I've currently got, but maybe I could test it out on my allotment in the future.
I’m not really sure if early main crop would work in ground in your location.
@@oregonfigs3314 yeah, I’d probably need to grow it in a greenhouse for early main crop. Conor might have a slightly better chance on the SE coast.
what is your zone?

This tree is what type of fig?
Campaniere
Thumbnail is a perfectly ripened Campaniere.
