I would love to have a Max Rebo band set and the Jabba playset that not only doubles as a figure itself, but also a display piece just to have them to put on my shelf. Hard to believe that all these figures, playsets and vehicles are now 40 years old.
I used to love the little catalogues you'd get with the vehicles and playsets, I've still got a couple but I wish I'd have kept more of them. One of them's still with the Land of the Jawas playset and has the 'Butch and Sundance: the Early Years' toys at the back. The toys were about as big a hit as the movie... 😂
I remember going into a Winns store in 1984, and Wicket the Ewok was the only one on the pegs. No one wanted it because it's too tiny for the same money that bought a normal-sized figure, and didn't have the coolness Yoda and the Jawa had. I guess that's why it's among the highest-priced ROTJ-carded figures today.
Wicket and Bosch Liea were the only ones I could never find! That and black Bespin guard. A couple other ewoks I didn't have, but they were in stores, I just didn't want them anymore - GI JOE reigns supreme
By 1984 me and my friends had all but given up on any new Star Wars movies that we moved onto Transformers and G.I.Joe but in the brief period I was collecting SW toys those catalogs were for me like a Playboy magazine was to adults.
I miss those days I was 11 when RotJ came out, every Christmas since the first toys came out in 78 was a Star Wars Christmas every year my grandmother would go shopping for me and it was all the toys she even got extra 1 or 2 of certain figures and one year I got 2 AT-AT vehicles and a extra Falcon oh man I was sitting on a little hill of money but I opened everything then in 89 my mom cleaned out our storage and threw ALL my star wars toys in the garbage even the 12 inch figures that came out....I was PISSED....lol
Oh man that's a sad story I always ask myself why parents weren't more considerate and asked us kids if we wanted to keep our old toys before tossing them out or donating them to the Goodwill?
I was too young for most Star Wars toys because it came out 2 years before I was born and by the time Return of the Jedi and power of the force was out I was so into He-Man and then Ninja Turtles that I never really got into vintage Star wars. I did have a grandmother though that would buy me used toys from like goodwill. She bought me a Emperor probably only paid 10 cents for it his nose was rubbed off and his hands were missing. I did have the rancor keeper but without his outfit and also had a Gamorean guard. Later on I had Bendems when I was in my early teens and I started collecting power of the Force 2 action figures when they came out but by then I was in high school. I did have the 12-in Darth Vader and Stormtrooper but my Papaw got those for me and he was a junk man who worked for the city and that's even how I got my first Huffy bicycle.
Hey, we're the same age! :) I was born in the year of the POTF also. I didn't get into Star Wars til 97. I started to dip my toe in the water in the early, early 2000s with a few used figures from an antique store including a Jabba figure. Around 2006, I started getting some of the vintage ships and playsets from my personal SW dealer. :)
I have this little mini catalog, it came when I ordered my ESB figure case, the seller threw it in as a bonus. This is pretty much where my head is right now, collector wise. I'm not as interested in Chewbacca's bandolier, but I do want the cartridges. Thanks for the video
I wish I would have pursued getting mini-rigs. They could have been personal vehicles for characters that did not have them. The summer of 1984 really stifled my Star Wars collecting/playing as it probably petered out in the spring as ROTJ - the end as we saw it - grew more distant. I went to visit grandparents and did not take toys with me. My focus then was on the movies and getting tapes. I got the Y-Wing by the end of the summer though but quickly went into being interested in Go-Bots and Transformers.
These catalogs are awesome love ❤️ collecting them I wish the first 2 catalogs went so expensive. If you look at the Star Wars pink bar catalog there is the creature cafe and looks totally different from the creature cantina. What’s up with that???? Please solve this mystery oh Jedi master JunkMan.
I had most of the catalogs as a kid and never got tired of looking at them. I think I sold them with my vintage stuff. Does anyone know if they ever produced the bib fortuna with the red robe?
I know this catalog. It was about as wide as a cd case maybe. I' d look through it over & over. I remember wanting sy snoodles. Why? What value could that add to my play experience. Never got, no regrets. I joined a Freddy Krueger fan club. Got one package of knick knacks then I guess it was disbanded cuz that was it.
I know about a hot car, it was a long car ride today. It's hotter than horse urine up here! I just got back from taking a tour of John Glenn's childhood home. It was pretty interesting. I joined the Star Wars fan club in the early 2000s and received some actual cell animation from the Ewoks cartoon through Bantha Tracks. :) haha
@@tperson8347 I'll have to check, it's in a box in a room in my basement. I think it's Wicket rolling down / falling down a hill. I'll post here again when I find it. I wish we could attach pictures in UA-cam posts.
I loved the mini-catalogs. They were my 70s~80s UA-cam.
Oh man, I swear if I still had these toys right now, id be playing with em. At least for a few minutes.
I had the speeder bike and my brother had the jabba the hut playset great video have a great weekend

That blows. That's the number one issue I always hear with a childhood collevtion.
I'd be pissed, too.

@@raulzavala9061Because, parents just don't understand.

Still have all those catalogs 😊
I have the lego rancor, but I always wanted the kenner one.
Los catálogos son geniales! Tengo dos de Lilí Ledy , me gustaría tener uno de Kenner . !Saludos desde México!
I'd love to have one from Lili Ledy! :)
Some of my favorite figure variants are from Lili Ledy and Glasslite.
Greetings from Ohio. :)
Dad bought me the Max Rebo Band at a place called Circus World then we went to get his truck inspected. How do I remember this from 40 years ago?
Dang, I'd be interested in the blaster on page 3, I think! Thanks for the review, Junkman!

Boyd stole your mail-away Emperor from your mailbox. Sorry you had to find out this way.
I knew it!

You never got you're Emperor Mail away? To a kid, THAT'S JUST CRUEL
I’ll probably didn’t do it right and probably put a one cent stamp on the envelope
I never got my Anakin Skywalker action figure. I was disappointed, but figured I'd find him later in life and wouldn't you know it, I did.
I had Mookie
I didn't see any new "farm Boy" Luke figure in this catalog.
Good
Her name is oola , Wookiee breath
her name was lola, she was a dancer, at the copa, copa cabanna
