Populations would be disintegrated and overall the damage would have been ever more scarring if Hitler got his hands on some nukes. Just imagine him setting off one in Berlin. All those men, women and children getting vaporised in a baptism of nuclear fire and all those soldiers from both sides gone, in a matter of seconds. The global impact would have been breaking.

This reminds me of my single player Soviet game. I finished the Germans and Italians, then realized Fascist Mexico was a major. I thought, "all right, can't be that bad, it's just--" Mexico was occupying everything they lost in the *first* mexican American war. The turning point was the 3rd battle of the Alamo, where Soviet Tanks supported by the Illinois National Guard finally overwhelmed veteran Mexican 3rd Army troops and exiled SS fanatics.
